is TA downloader a Samsung App?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2022 03:11 AM PDT

I've only found a couple of forums saying it's safe but even those forums are niche.

I just got a notification on my note 10+ saying performance and security update, tap here to update. When I long press the notif it says its from TA downloader. I've never received a notification like this in my over 2 years of owning the phone.

Is it safe? Is it a Samsung App?

    Why do people hate Bixby?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 06:46 PM PDT

I honestly love it, Bixby routines, it's pretty much on par with Google Assistant except for music searching, I don't understand the hate for it. Plus it's integrated into my phone so it's better with commands.

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G battery life

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 05:36 PM PDT

Does anyone notice their battery drains significantly faster after the most recent update?

My power saving is still on, I personally haven't made any changes out of the ordinary since the update. I hope Samsung isn't following suit to IPhones updates purposely draining battery faster to encourage buying a newer model.

Samsung Galaxy needs to use an exclusive font for its phones

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 11:03 PM PDT

Font style is also part of software design and identity. It can change the look and feel of an interface. I'm sick of the default Android font Roboto that One UI uses by default. Looks cheap and boring. We need a beautiful Samsung exclusive font.

Windows has Segoe, iPhones have San Francisco.

Does theming slow down the phone?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 09:23 PM PDT

I just received my S22U and it's buttery smooth. However, I transferred over my settings and it colored the quick settings icons and now it feels like it's dropping a lot of frames in the animations

compatibility of s20 ultra and the s pen pro

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 10:22 PM PDT

I'm a little confused, will the s pen pro (that uses Bluetooth) work with the s20 ultra? I'm confused as I have been told the s20 ultra will still not work as it doesn't have the technology to do so, is this true?

Samsung SmartTag (or +) vs Tile (and variants)?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 12:33 PM PDT

Had a fun time with my keys today, need a tracker. Anyone have thoughts on Samsung SmartTag vs ST+ vs Tile and their variants? Does Samsung need a subscription to use all features? How well do GPS functions and battery IRL with long term use?

Samsung should improve its navigation gestures for its phone.

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 07:36 PM PDT

Samsung should really improve its navigation gestures. Let me explain. I have a S22 Ultra as my main device and an old Oneplus 5t phone as a back up. I use swipe gestures in my S22 ultra, Instead of navigation buttons. Cause this phone is huge and heavy. And Swipe gestures makes it easier to control. But Samsungs's navigation gestures suck. I keep on accidentally triggering Google assistant or Samsung Pay, when I try to see all the running app in the background. This never happened to me in my old One plus phone or any other android device I tried. I did disable Google assistant and Samsung pay to make my life simple. But I shouldn't have to. Another problem with Samsungs navigation is when I try to use the S pen. If I try to take note or Draw something ( Mostly in the Pen Up app. Which is made by Samsung, BTW), when I reach around displays corner whipe drawing it triggers "Back button gesture". And it tries to save or discard the page. WTF. Samsung's software should be smart enough to know not to trigger that gesture while drawing. Or atleast disable all nav gestures during drawing. But Nope. I'll have to go to the setting, my self and switch back to old navigation button system. In order to draw something in this phone in peace. That's just dumb. If anyone from Samsung is reading this please fix these issues. Thanks you.

    S22Ultra constant network issues

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 01:12 PM PDT

Hey so I want to know if anyone else is having these issues. I JUST switched to the S22 Ultra, unlocked and wow I am NOT Impressed.

I work remote and tether Hotspot daily. Never had issues on my Note 20. But the S22 either never turns on the Hotspot or the connectivity is awful, I can't make phone calls either. Either no one can hear me, I can't hear or the call drops. Texts hardly send etc. The network is awful on this 5g. It really is. I have to reboot the ph9ne every 30 minutes to get the Hotspot to refresh. I've never had so many issues connecting to the internet. It's very unreliable.

Has anyone else experienced this? I switched back to my note 20 and it's working fine. I'm thinking about returning the s22. I was already hesitant due to lack of SD card and I think the deal is sealed if I can't fix these issues.

Got my $250 Preorder Credit, Would anyone recommend using it on a Samsung Sound Bar?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 12:12 PM PDT

Got my $250 preorder credit and not sure what to use it on. I already have a GW4, Buds Live, and Buds 2 and a Tab S8. Anyone have any ideas? Are any of Samsung's sound bars worth it? Ive never used a sound bar. I think its good till 6/24 should I just wait? I don't think any new earbuds or watches will be out by then so...

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 09:16 AM PDT

Hi, i am using sound assistant individual app volume. Is there any way to control them using buds ? Volume control on buds always seem to affect the master media volume and not the individual app . Thanks.

have you used your audio jack at all?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 04:09 PM PDT

This is obviously if you have a phone that has one. I have the S9+ and I used it for the first 3 to 4 months. After that, I decided to try the samsung earbuds and haven't used it since then. I'm going for my 3rd year and I have no intention of using it.

Still love my Micro SD card feature. 😃

    S21 or S22? coming from Iphone X

    Posted: 05 Apr 2022 06:21 AM PDT

    Hello guys,

I have an Iphone x with 2 years and poor battery life and I have the possibility to change the phone for the s21 or s22.

Which one do you recommend? I` have read a lot about s22 battery, is it as bad as they say? is battery better on s21?

Do you recommend the change for either of them? or wait and better get the s23?
