Google Photos converts all my videos to slow motion Posted: 03 Mar 2022 01:47 AM PST I have a Sony Xperia 5 III running android 12. It is able to record video at 4K 120fps with sound. When playing back the local files for these videos, either on my phone or copied to my PC, they playback in full at regular speed and are very smooth. However, google photos converts them all into slow motion videos, but not the kind where you can adjust the slow motion section length, it just uses the default and then saves the video in an uneditable state. Does anyone know why this is and if there is a fix? (I am aware that google photos on my current backup quality settings limits the resolution to 1080p and frame rate to 30 on my videos, I back up the full quality ones manually to keep a full resolution and fps backup.) Phone refuses to connect to my WIFI Posted: 03 Mar 2022 01:32 AM PST My Galaxy A12 came today and it will not connect to my home wifi with "can't get ip address" or "couldn't connect to network" error msgs... I've performed every logical fix and nothing will work. My other phones are connecting no problem, my new phone is connecting to my other phones bluetooth tethering for internet, but that's it. I bought it from QVC and it's brand new, it's on Tracfone service but I don't think the service matters when I'm trying to connect to wifi.. if neither of my other phones are connected to my wifi and I leave wifi turned on on my new phone, it will connect on its own rarely, but only stays connected for a few minutes before disconnecting again.. ever heard of this or encountered this problem before? How can I fix it? I'm no android genius, but I know my way around phones and computers pretty damn well.. [link] [comments] |
ADB debloat for Google services? Posted: 03 Mar 2022 04:20 AM PST Hey, sorry to bother you with this! I can't find any resources on the internet which will explain what each service in this list does, I'm mainly interested in removing any packages which upload telemetry and otherwise track me, which I don't like :) Here's the list of apps from Google I've got running right now:
I just want to know, which ones would be safe to completely uninstall ( Thanks for your time! [link] [comments] |
Having Issues with USB File Transfer Posted: 03 Mar 2022 04:14 AM PST I have an LG Rebel 4 running Android 8.1.0 that I've transferred files to and from for ages via USB with almost no issues, but recently I haven't been able to do so at all. Whenever I connected my Android to my Windows 10 PC via USB (while unlocked) before recently, I would get a convenient menu in my notifications that allowed me to choose what to do while connected, and my PC would automatically open a new File Explorer window to my phone's directory. Now it does neither of those, and my Android doesn't even show up at all in Devices and Printers or the Device Manager, let alone as an unidentified device. I've tried restarting my phone, restarting my PC, using a different cable, using a different USB port on my PC, and even changing my USB settings on my phone. Nothing has fixed my issue even temporarily. I did find a forum post about Android 8.1.0 breaking USB file transfer on some variety of Motorola phone, but I don't think/know if that's relevant to my issue. [link] [comments] |

Can't get into recovery and in way over my head Posted: 02 Mar 2022 07:19 PM PST I've got a Zenfone 8 that I had with Lineage for about the past 4 months, and decided I wanted to take it back to stock ROM. In my effort to switch it back I tried to get TWRP, while trying to boot into that I mistakenly typed "fastboot flash boot (.img file)". Since this I can get into the boot loader menu, but when trying to get into the recovery mode it just sits on the ASUS loading screen. I'm rather defeated after messing with it for hours, but any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Floating window goes outside the bounds of the screen when i try to move it Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:01 PM PST Not sure if this is the right place to ask This is the link to the video of the bug Happens on every floating window like chat bubbles. Bug also happens on every apps supporting floating windows like twitch When I minimize the apps, a floating window appears at the bottom of the screen, when i try to slowly move it to the top, it automatically jumps to outside the bottom border of the screen. Scrolling upwards shows the floating window again Vivo y33s Android 11 Funtouch OS PD2147DF_EX_A_1.12.0 All apps updated, OS on latest version, tried reinstalling and rebooting [link] [comments] |
Bluetooth turning itself off and on repeatedly, restarting does nothing Posted: 02 Mar 2022 06:23 PM PST I'm on an old Galaxy S9+ that in every other respect is doing great but has recently started turning Bluetooth on and off constantly on its own. It'll happen for a few days and then get better for a week or two seemingly by itself but it's currently been cycling for the last 45 minutes. I've tried restarting several times, turning it on and off manually but no dice. I listen to a lot of music/audiobooks and am always connected to my watch so Bluetooth typically stays on all the time. Phone and earbuds (Galaxy Buds+) are both up to date. Edit: I've also noticed in the few seconds that it does connect tonight that my buds will be call only, no audio. [link] [comments] |

Apps Only Send Notifications When They're Open Posted: 02 Mar 2022 09:01 PM PST Galaxy S20. Problem started after a system update on 2/22 (I believe). So lately my phone has only been sending notifications from apps that are open (or open in background). I habitually close apps I'm not actively using and in the past this didn't matter, the app would wake itself up or however that works (can you tell I'm not a software guy?) to send me the notification. Texts and phonecalls still come through like normal and a couple other minor things also continue to work. The most important thing that is not sending me notifications is my alarm clock. When I do open one of the affected apps, my phone buzzes me with all it's notifications at once as though they just came through. I have already gone through my battery settings to make sure nothing wrong was toggled, and the most important apps had already been set to "Never sleep" long ago. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Mar 2022 07:33 PM PST Hey guys, I recently found some charges on my Google play account from a game thing, thought it was my son and placed a refund request within the first 48 hours. The game reported its had some irregular account info after that, and to be careful. The first request was accepted, and then the rest of those initial requests made at the same time are being denied. Google said try the developer, who said Google processes payments, and only Google can refund (someone's lying, but whatever). I've sent more requests as this is highly irregular and the claim was made in the 48 hour window as per the Google play site. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to approach this? (other than a charge back, which it unfortunately looks like we're headed for since Google won't honor their policy). [link] [comments] |
signal strength icon empty triangle with three scrolling dots along the bottom Posted: 02 Mar 2022 07:07 PM PST Using a Pixel 5a for a while and recently my signal strength icon in the notifications bar has become an empty triangle with three scrolling dots along the bottom of the triangle. I have cellular service and mobile data all the while, but sometimes seems really spotty. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Mar 2022 05:12 PM PST Currently have an S10+, it has served me well. Am considering upgrading as I can effectively get one of the new S22 series phones for free via my job (even the Ultra). I don't really want the Ultra, as I have no need for the s-pen and I hate the design cues. But the new Plus is an FHD display vs my 10 Plus's QHD, and I'm a bit of a display snob. My question for you folks is, will I notice it? I'm pretty disappointed in u/SamsungMobileUS decision to make the Plus moniker a mere small size upgrade and do away with actual improvements like display quality. Am considering the Pixel 6 Pro also as a result, though I hate its design more than the Ultra. Am also just considering sticking with my 10+ for now and hoping for better options in the future. Appreciate any helpful input. [link] [comments] |
I disabled streaming controls on the notification bar and I can't figure out how to get them back Posted: 02 Mar 2022 04:16 PM PST A few months ago I was annoyed by repeated discord notifications and went on a tear disabling app permissions, somewhere in there I turned off the notification bar media controls for apps like Netflix or HBO max. The controls for YouTube still appear in the drag-down menu and will work but the other ones don't appear in the bar at all, I have to open the apps to pause/change volume. I've been through my settings a few times now (notifications, permissions, digital wellbeing, etc) but I can't seem to find where I turned that off, any suggestions? I'm using a pixel 2 xl with Android 11 [link] [comments] |
how to watch YouTube videos without Spotify pausing? Posted: 02 Mar 2022 03:15 PM PST if I press play on Spotify, YouTube pauses. if I click play on YouTube, Spotify pauses. is there an app or something that can let me play both at the same time?? it would basically be an app that forces the music to always play even when audio from another source starts playing [link] [comments] |
Run two apps at the same time? Posted: 02 Mar 2022 03:00 PM PST Hi everyone I have a question, is there anyway (or any app) to run two apps at the same time besides floating windows or split screen? Androids native split screen is broken on my phone with miui 13 and I was wondering if there was any other a way to watch YouTube and lets say scroll through reddit? [link] [comments] |
