Came across this today, apparently WhatsApp has created a database folder yesterday which is taking up 1.4 GB disk space. Can I get rid of it? As you can see in the image, the files were created one to two days ago. Last I updated WhatsApp was about two weeks ago

Looking for recommendations on apps that have outshined Titanium Backup

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 04:53 PM PST

The most recent review on Titanium Backup points out it's an extremely dated app & the UI shows it & the functionality is poor at best.

The main point though is the poster says there are far better options these days.

    I'm looking for 2 things.

Examples of better options.. I'm an "old" Android guy at this point so Titanium Backup is classic to me.. same with Helium.

I'm honestly not so concerned with backups but am interested.

I'm more concerned with uninstalling system apps with root & want something nicer a more fully fledged "Suite" if you will like TiBu was than "Root App Uninstaller"

Have there been many apps that have risen in popularity with similar functions to Titanium Backup both handling backups & allowing even system app removal with root?

Recording zoom video and audio on Android.

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 07:46 PM PST

I want to record a zoom call as a participant with no recording option. This call is a training session for which I've paid for however the teacher doesn't allow us to record the video/audio. How can I record as I want to refer it back for clarifying doubts etc. Our trainer doesn't like to entertain questions once training is completed and I just can't remember everything taught during the session. I want to do this recording on Android or windows if not possible on Android. I tried lot of apps but audio doesn't get recorded.

    Internal Player on Browsers

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 10:58 PM PST

I used to use UC browser to play videos online and it even used to let me download videos even if the website didn't provide the option to do so. Now I don't use UC Browser because it got banned in my country So now I have been using Chrome only to play videos online But internal Player on chrome is too basic. It doesn't let me skip forward or backward just by swiping on the screen and that is a deal breaker for me So what I do is just download the episode on some other websites and then Play the same in MX or VLC player But is there any way to change internal Player of Google Chrome or any app that adds overlay on Google Chrome while playing videos which will then let me skip forward and backward

    New App Showcase

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 02:24 AM PST

Hi guys, my first app on play store just went live. Check it out : Bingeit

Bingeit is a simple and fun way to discover what to watch based on reviews from people whose movie/tv-show taste you trust. Get recommendations from friends and the Bingeit community while socializing with people having similar tastes.

The app allows you to stay tuned on what your friends are watching or want to watch so that you can add it to your own watchlist or discuss the same.

Transcribe recorded audio to text using Google's AI?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2022 08:47 PM PST

I'm looking for an app that will use Google AI speech to text to transcribe a recorded mp3 file. Google Recorder would be perfect except it doesn't allow for transcribing recorded files.

It's inconvenient, but I could play the recording next to another device running recorder or try to mix the microphone input so it plays audio through the microphone input. That all sounds like a lot of effort for something that should be easier.

I'm currently using Otter.ai for their free transcription upload but it's limited to 3 uploads.

Is there an app that will load an mp3 recording file and process a transcription using Android's transcription AI?

An App That Will Remove All The Formatting Out Of Text?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 09:58 AM PST

I frequently copy text from PDF books and put them into screen readers. The problem is.....if the text is arranged into a narrow column, and you paste that text elsewhere, its going to start a new line according to the original text.

And so when the screen reader reads it, it adds a lot of pauses. I just want an app that will take in this text and just remove all those newline characters so that it becomes one continuous stream of plain text.

Are there any apps built for this?

Is there a WhatsApp sticker app (that can create animated stickers) that doesn't have fishy permissions and ads (if possible)?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 01:36 AM PST

I tried these ones, but both makes the animated sticker look weird, with bad quality and full of artifacts in between the frames. However, I can't find any other app without fishy permissions and ads. It's hard to trust app with ads sometimes... Anyone knows one?

    Thanks!

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 02:44 AM PST

I have heard of apps that track how long you have been sober or free from self harm. I want the same thing but tracks how many days in a row I have gotten proper sleep or exercise .....etc.

I want to build a simple app to crop an image to square, apply a watermark and save or share the file.

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 01:01 AM PST

I have 0 experience, where do I start?

Having learned a lot of applications in the past (and having fun doing so), I know that it requires a lot of time to slalom through the mistakes. I would like to skip that part because I am a lot older and I have a lot less free time and I am asking you for pointers like what to install, how to write, how to run, how to test the app and so on. I would really appreciate some pointers for a complete android nooblet.

What reddit third party app is the closest to the older versions of official app

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 10:32 AM PST

The latest update of the reddit app is trash, undoubtedly. I used many third party apps and although they are a bit better than the official app, but i love the UI of the official app. It's gorgeous. So what are the third party apps which have ui similar to the older versions (the pre-update one) but are better than the official app
