Posted: 23 Feb 2022 06:25 AM PST When using synaptic sometimes I am selecting a few programs to install then I look down at the status bar and see the projected space taken will be way more than expected.
Since synaptic is smart enough to manage this post-install and for uninstall, it must be able to do so while preparing to install, ya? [link] [comments] |
setting up dual boot - having issues with partitions Posted: 23 Feb 2022 05:16 AM PST Hi all, I am trying to setup my laptop to have a dual boot setup with Windows 10 and Linux. In Windows, I have set aside little less than 200 GB from the HDD for Linux, and this is currently unallocated. When I boot up from the USB for the Linux installation, I am confronted with the following in cfdisk. I was expecting to see more lines that would show identify all the partitions that I currently on the drive. Am I doing something wrong or did I miss a step somewhere? I don't want to lose my Windows 10 data, so I didn't proceed any further. Thanks for your help! [link] [comments] |

What are some resources that will tell me how DEs/WMs work, what are the common ones, and how to try out different ones? What about the above, but for package managers (snap, pacman etc)? Thanks! Bluetooth headset is detected as unknown device Posted: 23 Feb 2022 04:15 AM PST The funny thing is - it used to work (at least as far as connecting it as audio output goes). I have started tinkering with new adapter and I broke it. I have tried reconnecting using old adapter, but I get same result each time. Edit: The reported class is 0x000000 Edit2: Solved. It seems the problem was, the proper interface was not showing while scanning. Ok, my solution is:
