On my new Pixel6 the recordings are the right duration but there isn't any sound, they're all blank. I need this functionality for work. Googling around it seems like some phones have an option for call recording in their phone app, but this doesn't appear to be true for Pixel 6. I'm guessing Google is trying to clamp down on apps doing this behind the user's back but I actually want the recording. [link] [comments] |

| Switched from a OnePlus 6 to a Galaxy S21. Why do I hate this thing? Posted: 25 Feb 2022 08:58 AM PST So yesterday I was given a new phone (Galaxy S21 FE) by my company and I was happy at first because my current phone (OnePlus 6) was getting pretty old. So I open up the new phone and I'm immediately greeted by a bunch of preinstalled apps I can't remove, ads in a lot of the stock Samsung apps, and a lot of my favorite features missing from my old phone. The most annoying thing is that the gesture on my old phone for going back now opens Google assistant and there's no way to edit it. So does anyone have any advice on how I can make the new Samsung as close to my old OnePlus as possible? I am aware of using ADB to remove apps that cant be uninstalled and I'm open to rooting the phone but I am not sure what to do after that. Any advice is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 25 Feb 2022 08:47 AM PST So the weirdest thing happened. I use an HP chromebook for work and I'll unoccasionally log in with my personal account to check emails. Last night, logging into my personal account, my password wouldn't work. I hit "forgot password" and a text capture appears. This never happened before during my 2-step verification process. So it asked for the last password and text capture. Still won't go through. There's a speaker button next to the capture, and when I clicked on it, I got audio in a distorted foreign language, as if someone left their phone on the table and walked away. It hit me that instant that I've never had a google text capture before and I immediately closed my chromebook down and changed my work and personal google account PWs asap. | Posted: 25 Feb 2022 08:16 AM PST I have a MEIZU M6 and I have tried many ways to root it, but no method worked, i also tried installing twerp but i could not get around to figure out how to do it, no apk that claims it can root roots (kingoroot etc.). Old phones screen died, but I still managed to copy the whole contents of the internal memory, is there a way to throw that into the new phone? basically cloning the phone without access to the files but not the old phone. The notes are especially important, so if anyone can tell me how to locate them, would be appreciated! Also do apps automatically "relink" the folder if I just throw the old folder into the new phone? Thank you! [link] [comments] |

After 5 minutes it offers exit but other than showing "Exiting Emergency Callback mode" nothing happens. I've also tried restart and shutting down the power for couple of minutes but no help. | Timer app's notifications don't show up anymore. Posted: 25 Feb 2022 07:02 AM PST Since, I think the update before the latest one, multiple apps don't work like they did before. But my biggest issue is that my timer app, a simple app from Google llc, doesn't notify me anymore. It used to notify me when the timers ended. Now, when I'm active in a different app or when my phone is locked lying around, it doesn't do that anymore, losing its purpose. The standard Samsung clock has no such issue, but only allows one timer at a time. It's frustrating, I've tried different apps aswell, no luck. Today when I looked at it, my notification volume pops up. You know, like whether my phone is on vibrate or high or whatever. I have a Xiaomi note 5 phone, i did the most recent update on it. I have a rode mic 2 go which can be connected via USB. It works via usb on my PC so the mic is working fine. I have two OTG cables, and for both of them when I connect the mic to my phone, there is that little light that says there's power coming through. But the mic doesn't work. I tried different apps, i tried a video recording app which i Can chose "external mic" but it never works, the audio is Taken from my built in mic... Also on redmi there is no otg option to toggle, i've checked that. Internet says redmi phone just recognize otg. My phone is OTG compatible, i checked that Please help ! [link] [comments] |

I had a Moto G5 and the camera was aweful, blurry pictures all the time. I dont know which one to choose between these two phones. Im worried Xiaomi has the same charging cable issues that Apple does. I just want a good phone with a decent camera, no weird yellow pictures or beauty effect on it. Which one do you guys recommend? | Can't unlock bootloader of my ASUS tablet Posted: 25 Feb 2022 12:00 AM PST Hey y'all, I wanted to install Lineage OS for my old ASUS Fonepad 7 K01N (FE171CG), but when I tried to unlock the bootloader by typing `"fastboot flashing unlock" or "fastboot oem unlock" in ADB while my phone is in bootloader mode it returns "(remote: unknown command)" and does nothing. Also, I cannot find the toggle button for OEM Unlock in the developer options, which probably explains the problem. I've scoured though the internet and I haven't found any proof that ASUS dosen't support unlocking the bootloader. My drivers are okay, and I enabled USB debugging. Anyone know a fix, or an alternative way to do this? Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Feb 2022 12:49 PM PST As title says I'm currently trying to set up Emergency SOS on a Samsung S20 Fe using Google Messages with enhanced chat features (RCS). Evertime I try to send a test SOS to my SO, my phone will attempt to send the SOS text but in the end fail to do so.
