Wanna know something fun? The [Pixel 6] camera bar was designed to be that large specifically so they could keep that design language for a few years and be able to fit new camera tech in there. They can fit newer, better, bigger sensors and LiDAR without a redesign. - Max Weinbach

[Discussion] What would YOU like to see with future camera advancements, now that reviews are all pretty much the same?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2022 06:10 PM PST

Inspired by the recent MKBHD camera review of the S22 Ultra, where he pretty much summed it up with, "Yeah, it's good," and that pretty much being the end of it. That seems to be the general consensus on most flagship devices these days, but I'm curious what features would you like to see?

Me: Larger sensors with a full readout, and not just lenses using part of them... cough Sony Xperia Pro 1 cough. And probably the return of an adjustable aperture.

Since software tweaks and color rendition is going to be wholly subjective, and megapixels are pretty moot if we're all compressing for social media, I feel like true hardware is the future. What say you?
