Posted: 27 Nov 2021 08:55 AM PST Today I'm really just looking for a final confirmation from someone who knows more than me... I just want to make sure everything looks okay and my biggest paranoia is the AIO. I just want to double check with other people's opinion whether or not the hoses are properly oriented. Or if they need to be rearranged. Thank you again to everyone here on /buildapc. Ya'll are awesome! Worth upgrading from 2600x to a 5600x? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 01:19 PM PST Hey all, Current build is https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y9DsRT I dont have much of an issue right now, but with the holidays around i was thinking of upgrading. I'm not sure if it'd be worth the jump to get a 5600x or even the 5800x (or if my board would support them). I have a MicroCenter less than 15 minutes away, so i can get them new at a decent price or used locally. [link] [comments]
Should i upgrade cpu cooling or get a new ram? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:36 AM PST GTX1080 | RYZEN 5 3600X | 1X16GB 3200MHZ Hi guys, recently i've been experiencing some stuttering on the most demanding games like bf2042/ BFV and Modern Warfare 2019, hell, even the lesser demanding ones like csgo, my cpu temp reaches 86° while on heavy load and my gpu reaches 69° (nice) i think the problem may be the ram being single channel, i have the money to upgrade something to my pc, what should i focus on? a new 16gb of ram to have dual channel or a good water cooling? what do you guys think? [EDIT]: i'll upgrade both 🤝 [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Nov 2021 04:37 AM PST Thinking about how much power overall my next PC would have. I know that I won't be using it for any kind of active gaming, but I would like to take on things like 4K video editing, 3D rendering, game design in Unity 3D, and I am planning on getting a monitor in the 4K 120 Hz department. For non-gaming stuff, would something like a RTX 3060 (Ti) be sufficient enough, or would it be absolutely best to have like a 3070 or more just in case? My biggest worry is that, if I go the route of something like a 3060, then I'll run into some kind of issue or something noticeable, that a 3070 wouldn't have caused. And I have the same fear for a 3070 against a 3080, and so on. I know I'd also have to select the appropriate processor and RAM too, but solely focusing on the graphics card per se, would I get away with something like a 3060, or even a 3050? Is there a point where I'm getting a bit too low? For reference, right now my PC is using a GTX 1050 and a 2017 Pentium (and only 8 GB RAM), and I'm able to do fairly light stuff in the editing and modeling department just fine at 1440p 144 Hz. But then again, I'm doing lightweight stuff right now and do have plans on going a bit heavier, so I don't really know where the "choke" point is. But it did make me wonder how powerful of a graphics card I should look into. (And GPU Userbenchmark says that a GTX 1070 Ti and an RTX 3060 are extremely similar.) Consistent Crashing on Windows startup Posted: 27 Nov 2021 04:00 PM PST I recently purchased a Vetroo V5 cpu cooler, and I replaced my stock amd cooler. Problem is ever since I installed the cooler my pc crashes upon boot or right after I sign into windows. It has come up with three different blue screens so far, Irql not less or equal, Kernel Mode Heap Corruption, and Memory Management. I am unsure what to do, as most of the solutions I found online assumed the computer did not crash upon startup. All help would be appreciated. My setup is: as rock b450 pro4, Radeon 5600xt, 1600af, 512 go Intel 660p ssd, seagate 2tb hdd, evga 500 W bq 16 gb gskill ram. [link] [comments]
1st PC build after buying a friend's build Posted: 27 Nov 2021 04:16 PM PST https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TvRtVc So I need some advice in terms of price to performance metrics and any knowledge on specific parts if I should avoid them or there is an obvious better choice. Here's a rundown on why I chose each part: [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Nov 2021 04:07 PM PST So I got rid of an old 256gb SSD and replaced it with a 1TB SSD and I'm trying to utilize it to make it so my PC boots faster and opens everything faster and I can't figure out how to do that I was under the impression that all I had to do was install it [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Nov 2021 03:04 PM PST Which is better? B560 msi pro vdh or b560 asus prime plus? I have a i5 10400 and a gtx 1050ti [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:26 PM PST Just recently got a 5800x and am trying to install on my ASUS ROG Crosshair VII hero my first problem was I didn't have the latest bios, fixed that, now after I installed the new cpu thinking it would work I have a red light above and to the left of my ram, I have looked all over and can't find out what this means, can anybody help? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:16 PM PST Are there any good, somewhat cheaper video cards? I definitely cannot afford a $1000 video card right now. Anyone know or use any lower end gpu's for a good price? I know I get what I pay for but I just need a gpu that isn't crap and always isn't over $1000 Edit: I was looking at the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB Founders Edition Video Card. Is that a good one? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Nov 2021 02:07 AM PST Whichever one I would buy would only be for gaming and recording as I have a laptop for other tasks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Nov 2021 06:09 PM PST So I just finished building my pc and my windows is unactivated. Can I activate windows by transfering the key from my laptop? And I can... how? I have Windows 10 Home and it reads; 'Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account'. So is there anyway that I can move it over? Moving Windows to an NVMe drive from an SSD Posted: 27 Nov 2021 06:06 PM PST I built my first PC about a year ago and I currently only have one 1TB SSD that I store everything on. If I were to get an NVMe drive and just wanted to move Windows over to it, how would I do so? I'd want to keep my games and everything else on my current SSD but clear some space on it by moving Windows to the NVMe drive [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:51 PM PST Also, quick question. is it possible for an air pocket to get trapped between the cooler and cpu? [link] [comments]

Built a PC April 2020 and never bought a keyboard or mouse Posted: 27 Nov 2021 05:12 PM PST So I built my PC in April 2020. I never bought a keyboard or mouse because I used the ones work gave me for work lol. Last week, i quit my job for another and had to give back all assets. So I went and bought a nice Logitech g502 hero, very nice feel and I went for a razer blackwidow V3 mechanical keyboard since they were both on sale for black friday. Just FYI, I was using a conventional office Lenovo keyboard and mouse, the basics. Holy shit what a difference when pressing those buttons on the razer. It's so satisfying hitting those keys and hearing them click. Definitely worth every penny!! [link] [comments]
Lower fps than expected after upgrading to a 3060 Ti. Posted: 27 Nov 2021 03:36 PM PST Hi everyone, Up until recently I was using a GTX 1060 6GB gpu and decided to upgrade to a 3060Ti. I was expecting most of my games to have a significant fps boost as I was playing most of them in medium and got around 40-50ish fps. To my surprise, aside from the fact that I'm now able to run all my games at high and ultra settings (something I was not able to do before), I'm still not getting the frames I was expecting when upgrading to the 3060ti. I've tried a couple of games: Yakuza Like a Dragon (Ultra and uncapped fps): 60-70fps. Control (High/ ray tracing disabled and dlss on): 70-90fps. Cyberpunk 2077 (Ultra /ray tracing disabled and dlss on): 60-75fps. I don't know if my expectations were too high or there is something that's affecting the performance of this gpu. Any help is appreciated. Also here are my other specs as reference: RYZEN 7 2700 16GB DDR4 RAM 500GB SDD / 1GB HDD / 500 GB HDD PSU 650W [link] [comments]
Followup on M2 Drives not found on Gigabyte Z690 Posted: 27 Nov 2021 01:23 PM PST Original Thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/qyn2pt/new_gigabyte_motherboard_wont_recognize_m2/ TLDR: Gigabyte Z690 was not picking up M2 drive wasn't being picked up and had no spare Windows 11 HDD's/SSD's or couldn't create one. Thanks to Tajertaby and their suggestion: " If you can get into the BIOS, it safer to flash the BIOS using Q flash method rather than flashback. https://youtu.be/JJf7KfPO5TQ " -This is what made my M2 drives work just fine, it just took a while because of the Holiday season and I had to buy a flash drive formatted FAT32. Didn't have any Flashdrive so had to order one. The computer is rock solid now! [link] [comments]
Building my first PC for school, some gaming and daily use. Posted: 27 Nov 2021 03:34 PM PST Here's my PCPartpicker, https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/VFgfYg Hi, I'm building a PC in Canada for programming (I'm studying SE), League of Legends, and Valorant at 60 FPS, 1080p. I have not yet decided on a GPU yet, as their prices are out of this world right now. I would love to hear your suggestions on how I could better optimize my build/maybe cut down costs. My budget is around 1.5-1.8k CAD. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments]
I upgraded my RAM to 32x2 GB (3200). I have leftover 32x2 GB (2400) sticks. Should I toss these in? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 05:06 PM PST I upgraded my RAM a year ago to two 32 GB sticks. I have two older 8 GB sticks leftover from an older build. My motherboard has four RAM slots. I'm not really facing memory needs, but should I toss these extra two 8 GB sticks in there? Even though 64 GB is sufficient for my current purposes and I am never encountering memory errors, I figure more RAM sticks might help things work faster? I'm not sure though? However, I think these two extra sticks are of lower quality (2400), so I'm not sure if they would just hurt more than help. My attempts to look into this have mostly arrived at people saying that mixing different types of RAM within a single pair is bad (e.g., just a 32 GB and an 8 GB one), although is this also the case when both are paired properly? Thanks [link] [comments]
Strange noise coming from my PC? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 09:31 AM PST Over the last few days I've noticed my PC making some weird loud screech/beep/laser-like sound. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? I don't know what to do or if it means something. [link] [comments]
why after upgrading, a game can't get more fps even if neither gpu or cpu are ever 100% load? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:11 PM PST Hi I just upgraded my gpu from a rx570 to a 3060TI, and even if I have more performance, I can't get 160fps stable on Rainbow six siege, even if the GPU nor the CPU are ever under 100% load The max load on the CPU was 85% and on the GPU is always around 60%, but on the benchmark, whe I have dips from 160 to 130, neither go up, they stay there at those usage percentages. what could be the cause? PSU can be jumped but doesn't turnover with M/B! Posted: 27 Nov 2021 12:56 PM PST Trying to connect an RMx750 to an NZXT z590. I tested the m/b after installing the cpu and it booted, but now that everything's in the case it just lights for a second and then shuts off. I thought it might be the cables since I made them myself (and tested them), but even a store bought 24pin doesn't work. When connected to the m/b the psu doesn't even turnover, but if jumped the psu works fine... very very confused. [link] [comments] |
