It's been a tough ride getting used to the many different positives and negatives. Many of the iOS features like Focus, Bedtime mode, Shortcuts, and more are missing (or not fully integrated)... Which is the purpose of this post. I was hoping for alternative apps or android things that'll solve these problems. Below are more details about how I use these things.

I have an Android phone ( Xiaomi if it matters) and I'm headed to the artic for some work so there will be no internet. I'm looking for a way to have some sort of portable storage (no laptop) for my movies and TV shows other than my phone. My phone has little storage space and I'll be up there for a few weeks. I'd like something where I can simply plug my phone into the storage space and watch from there. Obviously, a laptop would be best, but I don't have one. Do I have any options? I woke up today to find that they had finally killed Android Auto for phones. Does anyone have any replacement suggestions that fully work? And probably 50 from third party over the years. Yet never have i had Play Protect save me or remove any "malicious" apps or anything like that.. Except.... A few times Firefox straight Houdini on me. Poof, gone.. not in quite awhile though. No notification or message or reason. Maybe didn't even happen since it's not like i can prove it lol Anyone got a story or have Play Protect from the Play store come thru clutch for them or a friend? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Nov 2021 08:21 PM PST Running Android 12, and since I switched I'm no longer able to select a specific song for the alarm feature like I could on 11. I can add artists, I can add albums, and I can add playlists, but I can't select a specific song. I can't actually find any documentation saying that was removed, so I'm not sure if mine's broke or if it's another one of those lovely quirks that Android 12 introduced. Anyone have any ideas? I was perfectly fine with my phone prior, so I just disregarded the "update" notification. a few days passed and all of a sudden just now it updates. it looks... different, to say the least. but I also saw I got a notification saying "solitaire is safe" via the "scan complete" thing from atnt mobile security. the hell? why are new updates now branding random apps in their updates that force their way onto your phone? is that malware or something ? | restart my phone after uninstall unity apk Posted: 26 Nov 2021 11:21 PM PST Hello, I have no problem with the unity game running when I install the apk file on the Samsung j1 2016 phone, but when I try to uninstall the game from the phone, it restarts after the uninstall operation. Of course, I tried on the other two phones, which are also Samsung, but there, after uninstall the game, the phones did not restart, but stopped for a few seconds and returned abnormally. Of course, I received all the necessary resources correctly with the Hub tool(sdk-ndk-jdk). But when I am offline and I enter the player setting section, the following warning message appears: (This version also has this problem: 2018.4.36f1 - 2020.3.22f1) Failed getting available Android API levels. Make sure your android sdk tools version is 25 or higher and you have internet connection. System.Threading.ThreadHelper:ThreadStart() I have set the minimum sdk and target sdk by default, but after the apk build operation(online) and correctly install , the restart problem that I mentioned above occurs. I have bought an SD card to solve this problem but still my memory is always full. I am having the hardest time managing files to and from internal storage and card, as the options in setting are VERY limited. I appeared to have 5GB of pictures which i tried copying to the SD and erasing from storage. Not only did I erase a whole year of pictures from both storages, but it did not free up the 5GB. I consider nyself quite well-versed in technology but I feel so dumb when trying to complete this easy task... I have tried using File Manager (but apparently it only accesses SD) and Files by Google but none of them helped me here. So I wanted to ask if there's any app you guys use to move files from one storage to the other. I currently have internal storage conpletely full and sd card 20%. Please help me. [link] [comments] |
| Photos recovery from Android boot loop? Posted: 26 Nov 2021 10:58 PM PST I really need some help (if there is any for my situation), to get my phone out of a boot loop that happened a few days ago. I had this phone probably for about 2-3ish years, I'm fuzzy on the date of when I got it. It's an Alcatel Raven LTE, model number a574bl if that helps tell which one it is. (I'm sorry, I'm not way too knowledgeable about phones) The real problem isn't really much getting the phone back in working order again cuz I'm getting a new phone anyway, but rather that I had some very important and meaningful photos saved to it's internal storage that I can't access because the phone won't get passed the android startup screen. I'd honestly be so heartbroken if there isn't a way to get them back. So I'm trying my best to connect it to my laptop so I can transfer the stuff over, but my phone won't show up on the computer either. Even when put in recovery mode. Probably because I can't unlock my phone and click on the notification to let my laptop have access? But nonetheless nothing I'm doing is working, I'm pretty desperate rn. Eventually I'll notify everyone of the new phone number, but in the meantime I wanted to know if it was possible to setup call forwarding for an entire contact group, or if I have to do it for each individual contact? I've got all my work contacts in a contact group and I think I can go into each contact and setup call forwarding to another number individually, but I was hoping I could do the same thing for the entire group instead of having to do it for hundreds of contacts?! This because I only recently just got it back from a cheap phone fix place because the charger port was broken... However it had been there for a whole month and a half before I got it back and in that time I've managed to COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN the PIN to it !! It is connected to my Samsung account so I tried to unlock it through find my mobile but because it's shutdown it's not connected to the internet and I can't connect it to the internet until I've unlocked it 😡 I would just factory reset it if I didn't have such valuabe videos and data on there (and I mean valuable)!!! I tried the place I put it into to see if I had handed in the pin with my phone but they said they deleted any record of it for legal and safety reason wich make sense!!! I'm out of ideas... so I come to the smartest there is and the source of all answers... REDDIT PLS HELP ME . Pls send through any ideas you have or suggestions that my help. Today, for some very strange reason, the phone started to vibrate everytime the display turns on and unlocks. Not a tiny vibration like when using fingerprint scanner, but a full power vibration. When I go to sound settings, I can't even access the settings because the phone is in Silent mode. Anyone know what may cause this? | Posted: 26 Nov 2021 08:01 PM PST Pixel 4a running 12. Gave in-laws my old but working fine Nighthawk R6250 router to get them both 2.4 and 5ghz wifi. They were seeing neighbors 2.4 as strong or stronger than theirs in several areas with the old Linksys. SSIDs on Nighthawk are separate (named example2.4 and example5.0). Both are saved in phone and both set to auto connect. Say Mil was hooked up to 5.0 but leaves on a walk. Obviously when she returns the 2.4 connects first and bam no benefit of clear/fast 5.0. Unsure if she leaves/returns via car if she gets inside 5.0 range fast enough to connect to it or not. Manually switching is an option I might use personally if I noticed this happened, but it's not a great option given their tech savvyness (or lack of). Don't want to uncheck the auto connect on the 2.4 as the 5 barely covers house and the dirty 2.4 would be better than nothing out front in driveway or in backyard (they are also the type that turn off mobile data by default to make sure they aren't charged $) I never really had this problem when we used the router at our house and I am also on a 4a running 12. It used to be easy to just create an FTP server on my phone then on my windows 10 I would just do the ftp://user@192.168.1.123:123 but now it doesn't work. I looked in my windows firewall to make sure ports were open. I was able to FTP to another server. Then I did nroute to my router to make sure the ports were not blocked and finally to my phone. The phone looks to have all it's ports closed. So I take it that the assholes at Google decided to make it harder to use our phones?. I'm glad goddamn pissed. I'm not going to buy any other device ever that doesn't allow me full access with root from the getgo. Android sucks at so many levels every day. Apple sucks more so it's Android for me. But man. I'm so close to just deleting everything on this thing and using it only as a thing that I use to receive phone calls from spamming bots. Useless as a phone, useless as a computer, useless as a music player. The only thing this is good at is to access my credit card...ohhh for that Android is king! [link] [comments] |

Samsung Smart Switch - the standalone app - simply installs apps without data. Android's built-in Google One backup and restore also just installs app without data. Lastly, Samsung's built-in backup and restore feature only installs apps without data. Now I really know why most people use iOS. Why does such a basic feature require root? [link] [comments] |

It goes to att and doesn't let me use data or call people. It is basically no connection and doesn't switch off it until I manually change it back. talked to tmobile support and they said it is domestic roaming and works but I don't think they know what they are talking about because one person said that prepaid had no domestic roaming and today the woman at the tmobile store said domestic roaming is free with every plan. I just want this fixed because my phone does not work most of the time. It goes to roaming when I'm driving or at school and doesn't go back. And the main issue is that when it goes to roaming, I get no signal at all and it doesn't switch back. And tmobile support has no clue at all what I am talking about or how to fix it TLDR- my phone keeps on going into a weird roaming state and says it is using att. I can pair the controller with a different Android phone and the Galaxy J8 that won't pair with the XBox controller can pair with and see other Bluetooth devices, just not the XBox controller. | "this item isn't available" no further info Posted: 26 Nov 2021 09:36 AM PST I'm trying to download some apps and I can't because the play store won't let me because "item isn't available", when it is, when I search the apps as well they don't show, I can only get to them via going to the apps official site. So the question really is, does "item not available" mean something like "item not available in your country", is there a setting I need to apply? Because I'm not getting any other Information about what's wrong and everywhere I search keeps wanting to suggest "item not available in your country" when I just have "item not available" and I know that the apps are available in my country. Is there some obvious thing I'm missing?
