After 5 years I switched to android... Posted: 29 Jul 2021 02:49 AM PDT Hi guys, After 5 years of Iphone I switched to android. Mainly because I couldn't afford a new iphone so i bought a Galaxy A52. I want to fully use the features of android but I miss a thing. What is my best shot to block ads on my webpages and maybe even in apps? I read alot about rooting, and why it is dangerous, but it seems my best shot to get rid of the ads.Can anyone share his setup over here please so I can learn a bit? Thanks in advance! :) EDIT: I still want to use my bank apps on my phone and I actually care about security... So maybe rooting is not for me. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Jul 2021 03:56 AM PDT Hi! So, it always bothered me how the volume level in videos and podcasts constantly jumping up and down, and I couldn't find a single app that would normalize the volume in real time, so I made one myself. After calibrating, you can change which preset you want to use (for podcasts there is a Podcast, for everyday YouTube watching there is a Balanced), which you can also switch outside the app by pressing the Overlay in the notification. The app basically makes quiet sounds louder and loud sounds quieter. Obviously it's not meant for music, so you can quickly turn it on and off from the notification! It's name is VolEq and it has dark mode too :D https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.veryclevernamecompany.voleq [link] [comments] |
ToDo App with Specific Features Posted: 29 Jul 2021 10:49 AM PDT So as the title says, I am looking for a ToDo App (android) with some very specific features: Ability to create recurring tasks (daily, monthly, etc) View that shows only "today's" tasks Categories (ie - home, school, pets) I tried Google tasks and liked it, but couldn't view everything for "today" in one place. I tried Tasks and liked it, but couldn't create recurring items. Didn't get very far in ToDoist because it had a limit on recurring tasks (free version) I am hoping someone has a suggestion for an app that has these 3 requirements. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Any music player that supports OPUS? Posted: 29 Jul 2021 07:04 AM PDT Title is pretty self-explanatory. At current time i use VLC, but it mixes albuns covers all the damn time. Is there any other app that plays OPUS files, sorts them into albuns (the files have such metadata) and is not VLC-based? [link] [comments] |
How to make an 2:1 app icon on homescreen (Nova) Posted: 29 Jul 2021 11:29 AM PDT Not necessarily 2:1 but any other bigger ratio like 2:2 or 4:2 or whatever [link] [comments] |
Looking for a video speed controller app to speed up videos on other apps? Posted: 29 Jul 2021 09:02 AM PDT So i'm studying for college entrance exams and the publishers of some books have those apps where they solve the questions in videos. But really slow. And they don't upload them to any website so i can't use speed control extensions for chrome or firefox. If only i could alter speed of the videos in-app... [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jul 2021 09:17 AM PDT I use adguard DNS to block ads on apps which shows ads, but the internet speed gets a little slow. i want the DNS to change automatically when i open some certain apps ( which shows ads ) to the AdGuard DNS, and change back to Automatic DNS on certain apps ( which does not show ads ) so the speed does not get affected on the apps which does not show ads. does a app like that exists? Posted: 28 Jul 2021 12:42 PM PDT Holy shit why have I never heard of this? I saw it listed as an add on feature of Hyperion Launcher and looked into it. If you haven't installed it I highly recommend it. Seems like an ultimate phone based search. You can even link your Reddit account and just start typing in a subreddit name and it populates. Amazing app. [link] [comments] |
Browser app capable of opening PDF Files Posted: 28 Jul 2021 05:46 PM PDT Hi. Is there any browser for android that when user clicks on a link that leads to a pdf, it doesn't download it to phone's storage but just show the pdf file? Just like it is possible to view pdf files directly in the browser in Desktop chrome. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Jul 2021 05:43 AM PDT Hello Reddit, I've been an iPhone user for many years and a few weeks ago I decided to buy my first Android phone, Pixel 4a that I love and enjoy very much. I miss some of my apps from iOS and I hope you guys can help me to find them in Google Store.
Any other apps that you guys/girls recommend? [link] [comments] |
Looking for game similar to Sneak Ops Posted: 28 Jul 2021 05:32 PM PDT What happened to the Sneak Ops game by Noodlecake studio. It used to be an awesome game where you Sneak into enemy building and collect data (floppy disks in this case) and have to get out of there without getting noticed by the guards. The guard will have a flashlight in their hand and there will be cameras. If you get in the range of camera or flashlight they will shoot you. You can also punch the cops and make them unconscious for few seconds. There were levels with poison gas, super guards (who are immune to punch) and there were daily missions etc Do anybody know a similar game on Android or Windows? It doesn't matter if it is free or paid. [link] [comments] |

Looking for an alternative to ASAP launcher Posted: 29 Jul 2021 04:06 AM PDT I've been using ASAP for close to 5 years now. I basically just enjoyed it's clean UI, cards instead of widgets, and having an app drawer which lists my apps instead of the classic grid. However this is not being maintained anymore, got a recommendation for a launcher I can try/buy? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jul 2021 04:01 AM PDT Is this still an option with the new 'scoped storage' stuff? I can't seem to install any apps to the SD card, even though I have it enabled in developer options. [link] [comments] |

Music Player With Noise/Ambience Option Posted: 29 Jul 2021 01:44 AM PDT I'm a fan of old songs, and they are much much better with vinyl crackling sound effect on the back which makes them really nostalgic, like this one. BUT sadly most of the songs remastered nowadays, and they are spotless. Adding noise one by one is a pain in the ass. So you probably get what I want to. Is there an app I could add ambience or noise to the background of the player while my playlist play? [link] [comments] |
