Planning on buying a black shark 4 ,need user opinions on it?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 04:04 PM PDT

Looking for some opinions /reviews from someone who actually owns the device

i plan on buying it since it seems like its hands down the best gaming phone in the 500 euro range ,the physical triggers help too

im more interested in someone that actually owned one of those for a month or 2 and can tell me its pros and cons

im also interested how damaging was the 120 watt charging for the battery health

They're $380 on ebay and the WirelessPlace website shows 4 gb version but I thought it was 6 minimum? Is it an error or should I look elsewhere? First Xi phone.

Does MIUI automatically clears cache ?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 09:09 PM PDT

I am currently using a poco. Basically my phone's space was almost full and hardly 100 MB was left in night. My phone was constantly asking me to deep clean but when I woke up in morning, miraculously I had around 800 mb of free space. Now I am really confused, I didn't deleted or uninstalled anything. How MiUi managed to get this free space ? I am not sure but I saw MiUi gallery's cache and it is 1 mb. Earlier it used to be much higher than that. So does MIUI clears app caches automatically to free some Mobile space ? or some other ways to get extra space for mobile ?

    Redmi Note 9t USA Carriers?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 09:09 PM PDT

Metro PCS said my phone isn't carried even though I have the bands for it. Any carrier recommendations?

Also, do I have to make sure voLTE is turned on via the dialer code?

Mi 9T battery drained super fast today and I went to look why.The gallery app was the problem. I didn't even spend time on the app yet 40%? Not sure where it's getting 2 hours of cpu total from. Hopefully this doesn't happen again. I would post a screenshot but I heard it's again the rules :/

    Reset phones after purchasing

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 04:32 PM PDT

I used to complain a lot here about my x3 pro being a piece of scrap because it has so many bugs.

what annoys me the most is that the display turns pinkish-white if I reboot it off on the lowest brightness and the screen would occasionally flicker from blue to white

I updated to 12.5.2 hoping it would fix it and it didn't so I decided to send it to my nearest service center to give it a look and factory reset my phone before sending it and to my surprise, it fixed the entire display bug I tried rebooting it multiple times just to make sure it wasn't just a coincidence

I bought a few phones from Xiaomi and never factory reset them this is the first time I experienced this kind of bug so if anyone is gonna buy new phones from Xiaomi try resetting it first before using it this might save you from the little headaches

    I'm tired of MIUI 12.0.2

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 09:36 AM PDT

    It's full of bugs.

Some apps that i've been using for 5,6,7 years on multiple devices without any problems don't work anymore. Full screen gestures don't work. I'm positive that the battery doesn't last as long as it did before. And a LOT of other small things that make me want to trow my phone into the wall :)

So i've been thinking about installing a custom ROM on my Note 9s.

Which one do you guys recommend?

MI 10 12.5.1.0 (RJBEUXM) Stable released

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 04:05 AM PDT

I finally got the MIUI 12.5 stable update in the EU. It fixed pretty much all of the annoying bugs while unnecessarily changing a few things like the fingerprint animations (I liked the old ones better) and slightly tweaking the haptic feedback for the Back gesture and locking/unlocking the phone (it feels a tiny bit looser than before). The notification cards and the volume UI now have a blurry iOS-que look to them and the wifi/signal/mobile data icons in the status bar are slightly larger. I've had the update for 2 days now and I can't say I've experienced any difference in battery life (it's been great). All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with it, mostly for fixing the bugs.

Sadly, navigation gesture still don't work with 3rd party launchers but it is what it is.

Redmi Note 10 Pro in Canada?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 06:30 PM PDT

Largely as the title suggests, I recently ordered a 128gb version for my wife in Australia for 279USD before taxes from aliexpress, but only option I am seeing in Canada is through the Mistore for 465CAD (378USD)[edit: actually 509CAD (413USD after shipping/tax)] which seems a bit crazy, or through giztop which looks a bit sketch for 329USD.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with buying in Canada because paying like 40% extra seems a bit extreme and makes it hard to justify.

    I don't get

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 02:42 PM PDT

I don't get Xiaomi lol why do they keep the Font section in the Theme app to certain regions? Jumping back and forth between India and Canada is annoying.

When you search within the Theme app Fonts will also be suggested along with the wallpapers, ring tones etc, and you can apply them from the selection... But it's just ridiculous that there isn't a dedicated Font section outside of the Indian region... It shouldn't be region specific!

A beginners guide to Xiaomi TWS?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 05:53 PM PDT

I'm interested in replacing my cheap, wish.com TWS with something from Xiaomi, for various reasons, but I'm utterly confused by the different products. When I go to the mall, I can see Xiaomi Mi Earbuds, Xiaomi Redmi Earbuds, Xiaomi Mi Airdots (not to be confused with the Earbuds), etc, etc... I even see 2 identical boxes, one with "Mi" and the other with "Redmi". I have no idea what I'm looking at, or what I should buy.

Is there anywhere I can get familiarized with these earphones? Something like a TL;DR of Xiaomi TWS earphones. Thanks in advance!

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Black Screen of Death

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 05:15 AM PDT

So my Redmi Note 7 went up in flames last night (metaphorically), I was using it like usual and it flashed a black screen for a second, just like when you're on a call or something and get too close to the sensor, the screen went back, and then it went completely dark. whenever I try to boot it up nothing happens other than the Redmi logo showing up but then it goes dark, but to my surprise the led light was blinking as if I got some notifications, which means the phone is up but the screen is not, and for the life of me I don't know why or how, I didn't the drop the phone, didn't spill anything on it, nothing, it just abruptly decided to die.

Today after a few (more like tens of) times of restarting I finally got it to work just enough so I can connect it up to my laptop and backup what I didn't have of my data, my question is why is this a thing, and how did it happen? I'm not really sure if it's fixable without paying a hefty sum, when I got it to open up the screen was going crazy, it's like there are hundreds of fingers touching everything on the screen at the same time, it kept opening and closing stuff without me even touching it, until it went dark again.

Is there anything to be done? And if I'm considering buying a new phone, is the new Mi 11 susceptible to such thing? I really don't wanna go through losing a phone like that again, last phone I had was the LG G4 and I'll leave what happened to it to your imagination.

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 12:03 AM PDT

my Redmi 9 recently got the android 11 update and with that I have the option to enable or disable the full screen Indicator. now, it keeps vanishing. it's option to enable/disable it is still their but it doesn't bring back that indicator. whenever I open control center, it brings it back but as soon as I close it, it disappears again. any fix? I currently have disabled full screen Indicator because of this. but I want to enable it.

changing grid size on miui 12

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 01:06 PM PDT

I like to use a smallest width of 600 dp, and having just 4 columns of icons is annoying me, is there a way to change it to 6x7 or something?I've read that you may be able to change it with some themes, but after installing those that are recommended, none work, after installing 5 random themes and none giving the option for grid size, I've decided to ask here.
note that I'm using the app drawer if that changes anything

Redmi Note 10s Always on Display issue

    Posted: 27 Jun 2021 01:04 PM PDT

So I just got myself a Redmi Note 10s running MIUI 12.5 and I'm having issues with the Always On Display feature. The problem is that it turns itself off after 10 seconds and I cannot change that setting. It is really annoying, because the phone doesn't have a notification LED and I don't want to keep looking at my phone if I missed any notifications. I've tried turning off MIUI optimization. That worked a little bit, it now stays on, but it stays on all the time. Even in dark, while my Redmi K20 running MIUI 12 turns off. Is there any workaround, or do I need to wait for future update?
