    So my laptop had problems. Windows was loading when i try to turn it on sometimes for hour or so. Or i needed to restart it multiple times to boot it. Finally it said "no operating system found". So i realized oke finally time to upgrade my laptop with SSD since it's sure thing that HDD is dead.
    When finally arrived i connected it and it said the same.

    Here you can see me trying new SSD ..

    I tried both of them ( old HDD and new SSD) in other laptop. Turns out the both work!
    So i have issue with some of the components ?

    Only thing that connects motherboard with HDD is that small piece of plastic. Succeeded to purchase new one from ebuy! Changed it ! Still doesn't work.

    BIOS is super small ! There is absolutely nothing to change there. And both of HDDs are NOT recognized when i go in BIOS.
    Aside from that, when i connect any flash device it's visible in BIOS.

    I recently just purchased a laptop from Best Buy for almost 1100$ but I'm not sure I made the best decision I just started college and want to work from home it's a 17" dell 2in1 but I'm curious to know if maybe theirs something just as good for a cheaper price please help me.

    Need excellent screen on Windows laptop due to damaged eyesight - please help!

      As low as possible - preferably £500-600, but the budget can stretch to £800 or more if necessary
    • Are you open to refurbs/used?
      Yes, to refurb
    • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
      Not especially important, but good build quality is always appreciated.
    • How important is weight and thinness to you?
      The thinner and lighter the better, performance above minimums required is not a priority.
    • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
      Not above 15"
    • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
      No.
    • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
      N/A
    • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
      Screen needs to be the equivalent quality as MacBook Air - I use it at almost full brightness all the time, and need good resolution too. This is the critical requirement for this laptop, as my eyes cannot cope with the strain of looking at a low quality screen (due to medical damage). Needs 8GB RAM and i5/AMD equivalent.
    • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
      Has to be a Windows laptop to run specialist software, or I would never be leaving my Macbook, which I adore. I'm not at all a power user, so the need for a premium screen is proving hard to find at a lower budget, especially as I don't know Windows laptop makers at all. Your help is very much appreciated!

    Should I upgrade my laptop's storage or get an external drive? (what could go wrong updating this model?)

    Hey guys- I have a 2019 Razer Blade Advanced with a 512GB NVMe PCIe 3.0. I believe this laptop only has one bay for a NVMe type storage, so I'd be removing the boot drive if I attempted to upgrade.

    I'd like to get more storage for mostly important photos, videos, and a few games but I'm not sure whether to

    A. buy a larger NVMe to replace my Blade's original one (the boot drive, which I'd probably just pop in a SSD enclosure and format to use for extra storage later) or-

    B. just buy an external SSD.

    I'm worried the former might harm or invalidate my windows 10 installation. Will it?

    How to stop a screen from working?

    I can't actually get onto the laptop as the internal screen is smashed, does anyone know a way to permanently stop the screen from showing anything? When I show my broken laptop to my parents I want them to believe it's a fault inside the machine (it's quite old), instead of me being stupid and smashing it lol. Cheers

    cpu and gpu low power usage

    hey guys i just bought my new laptop. it id the asus rog strix g15 with 10870h rtx2060 and 16gb ram. well i love it but i am kinda confused.

    in valorant i am using only 50% of gpu and cpu and temps are at 50 degrees. well its obvious i am not using the full power but i cant figure out how to fix it. it is on turbo mod it is plugged and i changed the settings on nvidia control panel to run games with nvidia graphics.

    i really appreciate any help.

    EDIT : i tested destiny 2 and the same problem low temps low power. so it is not valorant.

    EDIT 2 : i have undervolted the cpu -80mv and the gpu at 0.8 v 1700mhz

    Will the dedicated iris xe max graphics get better.

    I am looking for a good budget thin and light laptop and the new Acer swift 3x seems a pretty good laptop (it is really hard to get a good screen at this price point in my country). So I want to know if the gaming performance will get significantly better as it does pretty good in content creation tasks.

    2in1 gaming laptop or touch screen laptop I can also game with?

    Know when you search for something and because it's confusing to you, you give up and decide to try again the following day? I've been doing that since December 2020.

    I am new to laptops and I have never gamed before hence the confusion when looking online. If anyone can help me, I will forever be in their debt. 🙏

    I am looking for either a 2in1 convertible touch screen or a 360 laptop that's touch screen.

    I would need it for basic work and some picture/video editing. I would love to start gaming too. Please keep in mind I have never gamed before. So something that would be able to game with?

    I don't mind either a Ryzen or Intel as I have read they're both on par.

    My budget is £1000, however I won't complain if I can find something cheaper.

    I was looking at the Lenovo ideapad flex 5 ryzen 7 but I got told it does not have good graphics. And at the moment that costs around £700. (no idea, if its good for gaming).

    So please if someone could help me get the best bang for my buck, I'd be so very grateful.

    Any recommendations would be a huge help to me.

    Hi all!

    Help choosing between a HP Envy x360 AMD Ryzen 4700U 16GB 512SSD @ £1000 or Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 MD Ryzen 4700U 8GB 512SSD @ £749.

    I'm looking for something sleek and portable that can easily manage everyday multitasking but also let me do some casual gaming (i.e. Civilisation5, MTG Arena, Child of Light, Bastion). I've gone for an AMD processor as the integrated graphics seem better. As I'm not looking for a hardcore gaming laptop I've discounted a discrete GPU as I'm struggling to find an option that gives enough of a benefit for the price jump. (More than happy for someone to prove me wrong here!)

    Budget is around £1000. I'm hoping that whatever I get will last 5 plus years (don't know if that's a reasonable expectation?).

    Alternatively, do I hang on and wait for the Ryzen 7 5000 series laptops to hit the UK market? Any clue when that might be?

    Debating buying the current MacBook Pro 13 in. How much is the new 14 in MacBook Pro going to cost? Will the base model be 256gb or 512gb and will the 13 in MacBook Pro m1 go on sale when the new one comes out? Not sure if I should pull the trigger or wait.

    Quad speakers laptop but only the front speakers work

    I have a MSI GE75 with quad speakers but as far as I can tell only the front speakers are working and Im not getting anything from the back speakers. Does anyone know any software that can show me each individual speaker or some way to troubleshoot this without having to open up the computer?
