I decided because this was a family member's computer who passed it on to me to try it on their user because I am smart (sarcasm). | Posted: 29 Oct 2020 04:12 PM PDT My widnows key isn't working, but using it with shortcuts (like Win+Tab or Win+R) work just fine. Not sure how to fix this. Edit: I was dumb, forgot to check for driver updates. That solved the problem. Leaving this here in case anyone else has the same issue in the future and either pulled a dumb like me and forgot or just didn't know to check for that kind of thing. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Getting windows 10 for a technologically illiterate person(must avoid Microsoft account logins) Posted: 29 Oct 2020 07:18 PM PDT I have a friend who is still using 7 and wants to get 10 so some of his games work properly. Problem is it took me 2 days just to get him a steam account! I don't want to go the physical copy route because i'm chancing it with a code that might not be valid anyways as well as paying a premium(as much as +50%) for it, or OVER $200 Canadian just for home edition. Is there a way to buy a code off the Microsoft store without having to log in on the customers pc and get them to set up a Microsoft account. We can't use any of the "window 7 to 10" upgrades because a year ago he downloaded malware and ever since the code on the back of his case has never worked The other option is to use a pirated copy, and for obvious reasons Im not a fan of that, [link] [comments]  | ||

All the specs are the same except the following: 11th Gen i5 with 16GB RAM vs 11th i7 with 32GB RAM (500$ more expensive). This will be my first upgrade since 2014. | Windows 8.1 won't install Realtek Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter Posted: 29 Oct 2020 01:27 PM PDT Specs : Model: Lenovo Pc c460 Processer : Intel (R) Pentuim(R) CPU G3240T @2.70GHZ 2.70 GHz Ram : 4 GB System type : 64 bit Windows : 8.1 So last weekend I decided to upgrade to windows 10. Then I had a lot of trouble with connecting my wireless keyboard to my computer and it will take about 10 minutes to actually connect and instead of being connected even when I started the computer up again it disconnects and I have to start trying to connect it for a long time. So I decided to go back to windows 8.1 so I won't have to do that for a long time and know my keyboard won't even connect. Then I went to device manager to update my bluetooth drivers to see if that works it says, "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. Realtek Bluetooth 4.0 adapter. The system cannot find the file specific." So I decided to go to lenovo website to download it. Went through all the steps then it said something about need to plug in the USB device and click okay. Sorry don't know word for word of what it said right know but the only USB device I had in my PC is my mouse so I unplugged and plugged it in thinking it will work it didn't. It also deleted my bluetooth option on device manager I scanned for hardware changes and clicked show hidden devices that didn't work. Then I did a restore point but I only had one option and it didn't fix my problem my compter just took me back to where I was before I installed the Realtek bluetooth 4.0 adapter. I even uninstalled and installed the bluetooth adapter that didn't work and I had to restore point again to get my bluetooth option back on device manager. I tried updating the file again because I know for sure I have the right file but it said the same thing again about it not being able to find the file. Also, I deleted the file RtkBtfilter.sys so it will let me update to windows 10 that's probably the problem that I did but I'm not sure. I looked up for problems like mine but couldn't find any please help me. [link] [comments]  | ||
