Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:43 PM PDT I have an LG Xpression Plus 2 and a week ago my keyboard suddenly stopped popping up when I need to type while playing mobile games. I have tried everything to fix the problem (clearing the data/cache of the keyboard, restarting my phone, even trying different keyboard apps, etc) but the keyboard just refuses to pop up anytime I need to type in a mobile game. He is obsessed with YouTube, so has a tablet connected to WiFi for that. He also has an offline tablet for when we go somewhere without a WiFi signal, which I have loaded with some of his favourite videos for offline playback via VLC, MXPlayer, etc. Unfortunately, he has recently discovered the 'delete' button on these apps and keeps deleting all the videos (around 200GB in total) and it is becoming an extra pain in the backside I could do without to keep loading them on again. So my question is - is there a decent media player that does NOT have an option anywhere to delete the files? I have disabled/locked all the other apps which he could delete the files with. Thanks! Posted: 29 Oct 2020 08:54 PM PDT Hi All, I'm trying to log into Facebook Messenger on my Note 20 Ultra and not getting far. I'm trying to log into messenger, firstly it asks for username/password and when I do it says 'Logging in', and then a second later says 'Logging out' followed by the message 'Something Went Wrong. Please Try Again.' Messenger Lite works, and no other issues with any other applications, just messenger. The weird thing is that it works with non-android based phones, as I have tested on 3 androids and 1 apple and only seems to work on the iPhone XS. Timeline of events/troubleshooting:

Posted: 29 Oct 2020 08:30 PM PDT Recently we had a power outage, and at the same time every mobile network also went out for around two days. Yesterday they all came back on, but I've run into a problem. When I'm at home with wi-fi, my data doesn't work. I can't call or text. But when I'm away from home, my data turns back on. I've tried restarting my phone, powering it off and powering it on, turning data and wi-fi off and on and toggling airplane mode. I use Straight Talk, if that helps [link] [comments]  |

| How can I update my Huawei Mediapad M5 Pro? Posted: 29 Oct 2020 08:09 PM PDT I love everything about this tablet but it's stuck on Android 8! I checked HiSuite and it says it's up to date. I have an issue using the Firmware Finder app... It says 9.1 is available but I need to change my router settings.. the DNS.. and that doesn't seem possible on my verizon fios router. | Posted: 29 Oct 2020 05:52 AM PDT I often end up with rather large tab sessions of that kind, and to preserve the order and organization I either need to keep the session and hope it doesn't get lost, or manually save each link on a list - lately that process has become really tiring; every browser I'm familiar with so far keeps separate lists for bookmarks and saved pages - Opera's the only one that lets you rearrange the order of the bookmarks, but not the downloads + apparently downloads of the same pages get overwritten?? Vivaldi and Kiwi don't overwrite, but don't let you change bookmark orders. So all I need is a browser where you can rearrange tabs, and save tab sessions as rearrangeable lists - or at the very least, rearrange both bookmark and offline lists + where the latter don't get overwritten; a very basic and humble set of requirements to save some time and improve organization - can it really be that no such browser exists? I've had this phone for about 2 years and have it setup exactly the way I like it. All updates are disabled because I hate when everything changes. Anyway, yesterday at some point without my knowledge an extra button was added to my phones navigation bar and for the life of me I cant get rid of it. Any help would be extremely appreciated. I've tried the settings but there is no option to remove it and google searches lead nowhere. I got it yesterday and put an sd card in it everything was going okay my media files were going on there but when went to move apps to external storage there wasn't an option for it. I watched a bunch of videos that said go to developers options and turn on force allow apps to external that did'nt work either. Is there anything i can do to enable the move to external feature. | Image thumbnails do not match the image, some images are missing entirely Posted: 29 Oct 2020 04:05 PM PDT Galaxy S9 Plus plugged into a Windows 10 laptop. When browsing image files on my phone's DCIM folder using Windows Explorer, I noticed the thumbnail preview does not match the actual image. Further, when I transfer these images to a hard drive they are misattributed differently, as in the thumbnail in the hard drive folder doesn't align with the same filename it was aligned with in the phone folder. This goes way back in time, for example I took a .DNG photo of the stars one night this week but when I open that exact file with Photoshop (pulling the file directly from the phone) the image is actually a low res picture of a workout bench I sold a month ago. Something is clearly messed up here I just don't know what. And until I figure this out I cannot trust my phone to take pictures and save them correctly, something I do a lot. [link] [comments]  |

| Vivaldi browser won't open phone numbers? Posted: 29 Oct 2020 12:05 PM PDT I use Vivaldi for Android on my mobile phone (Pixel 4a). I've noticed that when I search for a business in Google and hit the "Call" button on the business search result that comes up, nothing happens. When I used to use Chrome, pressing "Call" on the search result would automatically open up my phone app with the phone number for the business auto-populated, which was very convenient. When I tried doing this in Google just now, it has no issues opening up my phone app with the number. Any suggestions on how I can make this happen in Vivaldi? Not a big deal, but kind of annoying. I really don't want to have to rely on mobile Chrome again... [link] [comments]  |

| Trying to recover photos from a dead Samsung Galaxy S6 Posted: 29 Oct 2020 03:28 PM PDT Hey everyone, a few days ago my phone literally just bricked. It froze, and stayed stuck on the text I was sending for a while, until it finally went black. I tried charging the phone back up, and for a while it showed that yes, it was charging, but when I go to boot it (once the charge was complete) it would just bring me to the Samsung Galaxy S6 screen and stay there. I tried multiple times and now it's just nothing. I eventually got a new phone but realized that, being the idiot I am, I never backed up my photos that were saved to my phone. I had thought they were saving to either a cloud service or my SIM card, but nope. Nada. Is there ANY way to recover photos in a case like this? Am I just purely out of luck and just going to have to accept that they're all gone forever? I can't even get my phone to turn on, so I'm not sure if anything can be done. I want to thank anyone in advance for replying to this. I wasn't expecting my phone to just die like that and now I'm low-key panicking. Again, thanks in advance for any help and pointers!
