Do you guys constantly feel the need to buy something for your setup? Posted: 28 Oct 2020 05:38 AM PDT Hi, I've started building a computer early this year. I built it for my home workstation, and since then I've been buying a lot of stuffs to make my work-at-home experience more comfortable and fun (arm mounts, ergonomic stuffs like keyboard trays and gaming chairs, etc.). Now I'm at a point where I've bought everything I need, but I'm still constantly thinking and browsing online shops and looking for the "PC Accessories" or even "Home Accessories" page to see if there's an item I forgot to buy, or didn't know that exist but something that I would need. Do you guys also feel like this? It's like I'm already contented with how my setup is (or at least I think I do), but I still constantly look for something that I don't even know what's missing. How do you guys deal with this feeling? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:55 AM PDT Posting this here, since I didn't saw a thread with the specs here.

Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:37 AM PDT Wow seems like AMD really came through with the price per performance package on their 6000 series graphics cards. But, I am still conflicted on whether to wait for AMD graphics cards or go ahead and get the 3070 tonight as it is still an enticing option. What do you guys think is the best option? Looking to build in the near future. [link] [comments]

Best Buy just dropped a bunch of 3080s Posted: 28 Oct 2020 01:17 PM PDT
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:32 AM PDT For the past month, everyone asked me to wait for this big Navi event and as expected, no cards were announced in the 300-400USD category. So basically waited for nothing according to these people. So is it a good idea to buy the 5600xt now? Please do not ask me to wait for the cheaper NVIDIA cards since my workflow require AMD cards and NVIDIA cards are terrible in supporting my workflow. Posted: 28 Oct 2020 02:55 AM PDT Hi guys, I have built my PC somewhere around june this year. Around july/august I started having problems where it would randomly shut down. Shutdowns without any error code, just turn off immediately, no logs, nothing. I have tried about everything, here is an overview:
The shutdowns 'feel' like they are power related, as I said before:
However, they happen both at load and idle. Weird thing is, when I am testing just a single component, RAM, GPU or CPU it generally does not crash. But it does crash under 'normal' workload, e.g. browsing or playing a game. Now I have already replaced my PSU and my Motherboard already, the chances of one of them being broken again is astronomically small, right? I am suspecting that my freezer may have killed my components twice, is that a thing? It is connected to the same electrical group as my computer, and when the compressor of the freezer turns on/off I sometimes hear this in my speakers. I think it may be causing too much of a voltage drop, however, the crashes do not occur at the time the compressor turns on or off. But it may have killed my components twice? Surely this does not kill a PSU from a reputable brand that can handle basically any voltage anywhere in the world? My PC is connected to a power strip with a surge protector built-in. I am starting to lose hope, any suggestions what could be causing this are welcome. I have pretty much ruled out any driver issues right. As it also crashed when I was attempting to install windows to another SSD. [link] [comments]
I think I found my first hobby Posted: 28 Oct 2020 01:37 PM PDT The only "hobby" (if you would even call it one) I had was playing Xbox with my friends after high school, typical console kid stuff. The only "computer" gaming I ever did was play WoW, which you can run on a toaster oven (or for me a 2011 Macbook) lol I finished college and started getting back into WoW and rather than keeping a blistering hot mac, I started researching PC builds. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I started assembling my first PC! Everyday, no, every time I walk back to my desk I stop and stare at it, and stare and stare.. and smile. Partially still in disbelief I actually put this thing together, partially daydreaming what part I will upgrade first (I was literally craving to replace my motherboard after the first week), but usually just to sit in awe. Sorry for the wall of text but I've never felt this combination of pride/intrigue before. Its been almost a month and I'm still craving to learn more, hell, I'm watching Linus Tech Tips daily and even though half the time I have no idea what he's talking about, I am really excited to find out :) [link] [comments]
Is RTX 3070 and Ryzen 5 5600X a balanced combo? Posted: 28 Oct 2020 06:56 AM PDT I am planning on building a PC in near future, I am planning on buying RTX 3070 and Samsung G7, I'd like to know if there is balance in the components I'm choosing and which components should I be using? You can judge the budget with the components that I'm choosing and it'll take a while for me to save money to buy anything, plan is to buy a 1080p monitor to start with (used) and just a CPU untill I can get other things (mouse, keyboard, headphones, from Logitech, all wireless) and then I'll buy the monitor and then graphics card, it's gonna take time and prices will get lower but with what I've calculated, it's gonna be less than $2,500 for everything. (Hopefully less than $2,000.) I'm saving money at the rate of $100 a month, but I'm working on earning money. Take 8-10 months as an example for how long it'll take for me to save enough money. Please suggest me a PC built so I can save money accordingly and I tend to work better when I know what my goal is. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 12:36 PM PDT Now that AMD and NVIDIA has released their big fancy graphics cards will they release budget graphics cards? I'm looking to build a pc for my girlfriend around Q2 of next year and I'm looking at a graphics card around $200 so like the 1660 super or 580 but if there's new budget graphics cards coming out next year then I would definitely go with those. Anyone have any idea? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:33 AM PDT So what do you guys think? Should we order the 3070 or wait out?? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:43 AM PDT As the title suggests, my whole setup has been done for a month. Been just staring at waiting for the 3000 series to come out, haven't got my hands on any of them. My last chance is the 3070 obviously tomorrow. I'm highly doubt I'll get lucky enough,so if I don't get my hands on it what should I get? I'm at a loss currently and have no idea at this point My PC will be used to stream 1080/1440p, edit videos and gaming. Here is my setup missing the GPU https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qzcq3Z PLEASE HELP 😓😓😓 [link] [comments]
3700 worth extra $ over the 3600? Posted: 28 Oct 2020 07:53 AM PDT I am gearing up for a processor upgrade soon as my i5-6500 has aged rather poorly. I have been looking at the ryzens and I can't decide between the 3600, 3700, or the upcoming 5600. I am looking to do gaming along with streaming as well at 1080 144hz, preferably on high setting for demanding games but I'm fine with turning some stuff down. I was interested in the 3700 because I've seen a lot of people say 8 cores is going to be the best for the future as games start to become more demanding, and it'll also put me on the same level as the new releasing consoles this year. Just looking for some opinions. Also, I know with the 3600 it is recommended to get a third party cpu cooler, is this also true for the 3700? Edit: I'm well aware I should wait for the release of the 5600x, I won't be buying anything until Black Friday/cyber monday [link] [comments]
15 year old Beginner looking for help Posted: 28 Oct 2020 03:18 PM PDT Hello does anyone have any advice for a 15 year old looking to build his first pc. I started building one about 5 months ago. I only have a cpu the amd 2200g I got on sale because I heard it was good for light gaming without an gpu. My friend said that he would sell me his case, motherboard and power supply whenever I get enough. Is anyone selling a gpu, ram, or a ssd or hdd at a discount in the near future or even have any advice where to get cheap parts. I know thats a long time to be building a computer but money is pretty hard to come by for me and I was looking to get into gaming on pc. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 05:23 AM PDT Should I just bite the bullet and grab a 1660 super? This was the original plan until I seen the price of the new GPUs but it's clear that they're having supply issues just now, is it worth waiting for 3070 or just jump in and grab a different one [link] [comments]
Swapped my motherboard, cpu, and ram and now my pc turns off when gaming Posted: 28 Oct 2020 03:20 PM PDT I'm not sure what's going on, but whenever I play a game, my pc shuts down without any warning. I think it could be the motherboard since I got it on clearance at Micro Center, but I also think I might be overheating since I'm using the stock cooler that came with my cpu. CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: EVGA RTX 2060 KO Ultra RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb 3200MHz Motherboard: Asrock B450m pro4 PSU: EVGA W1 series 600W ATX 80 plus [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 12:29 PM PDT Just finished a build and I don't have a display. Computer powers up but nothing shows. Looking to upgrade my RTX 2060 and Ryzen 5 3600 Posted: 28 Oct 2020 03:03 PM PDT Hey all As the title states I currently have: Nvidia RTX 2060 XC Ryzen 5 3600 16gb DDR4 Vengeance RAM Samsung 970 ssd I'm looking to upgrade to be able to play upcoming games atleast at 144fps Any advice is appreciated Edit: I have a budget of around £800 [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 11:11 AM PDT I know with all these card launches people are are really itching to get the best card for them. I just want to stress the fact you all right now that it is too early to give a good answer on whether AMD is a better value than Nvidia, or whether you should get the 6800 over the 3070 etc. ALWAYS wait for 3rd party reviews and benchmarks, then come here for advice. Thanks, love you all [link] [comments]
Where can I find a similar military themed case like the Corsair vengeance c70 black? Posted: 28 Oct 2020 05:11 AM PDT I'm looking for a case that has a military theme and looks similar to the corsair vengeance c70 black case which has these handles at the top that are kind of similar to an old ammo box. And it has also has these cool switches/buttons at the front that have a plastic hinge protector/cover over them like you would see on a missile command system. Here are some pictures of it: https://imgur.com/a/ly0F9DK [link] [comments]
Feedback on First PC Build Parts Posted: 28 Oct 2020 10:49 AM PDT Hello, I'm deciding to get a new PC and chose these parts from what I heard. Is this a good build? I am going to use it for VR, AAA games, Video Editing, and maybe more.

Posted: 28 Oct 2020 02:25 PM PDT I'm looking for a CPU cooler since Ryzen 7 5800X doesn't come with one. I'd like it to be air cooled and as quiet as possible. Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
VR gaming build - silent Ferrari - looking for improvement suggestions Posted: 28 Oct 2020 01:59 PM PDT I've been spending a ton of time gaming due to the pandemic, and I just got a raise, so I've decided to go all in on top of the line parts, and live on the bleeding edge for once. I'll be playing a lot in VR with an HP Reverb G2 (pre-ordered), so the main goal of this build is to maintain as close to 90hz as possible in VR while running near-silently. (The Reverb G2 has headphones that hover over the ear without touching, so a quiet PC is important, since the headphones won't block out background noise.) CPU/chipset I will do some overclocking, since the massive CPU cooler should let me do that without impacting fan noise too much. Case/fans/cooling I might add an additional exhaust fan in the top back, but a) I am only really concerned about GPU temps, and I'm not sure it will make a difference for that, and b) I want to maintain a high positive air pressure inside of the case to prevent dust buildup. I'll be using my phone's barometer to measure the pressure with vs. without the second exhaust fan, to see whether the extra fan is worth the pressure drop.
