Two weeks with 8t and I'm sending it back because the camera is dogshit

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 02:48 PM PDT

I take photos at the same spot in my room and gym to track progress, have done for the last 3 years with my Pixel 2 XL.

At the gym the 8t produces overly exposed photos that are stupidly bright, smudged and no detail visible.

Submitted a return request to Amazon earlier, just tried a 48mp photo in bedroom hoping it would convince me to keep the phone.

I came out looking like a Simpsons character

The 7 Pro is TOO good

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:25 PM PDT

As the title says, it's almost unfair of how good of a phone this one is, and I just have the Tmobile version. Fast charging? got it. High refresh screen? got it. No punchhole or notches? got it.

My ONLY qualms with this phone are: Curved screen and no headphone jack just for the option. Audio quality is always better hard wired.

I would love to keep up with the Oneplus line and get another, but this phone is still too good and the others have been abit underwhelming in comparison.

Very good repair experience! (Location: Germany)

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 10:48 AM PDT

Before I sent my OP8 for a repair I searched for experiences with the official repair services in this subreddit and I found mainly bad ones. For this reason I want to share my very positive repair experience with you.

My OP8 had uniformity issues and the in-screen fingerprint sensor was clearly visible on dark backgrounds. I contacted the support which took a while because they didn't respond that fast, but it was still ok.

What surprised me a lot was the speed after the repair was authorized. This happened on Saturday, on Monday UPS picked up my phone, it arrived at CTDI in Poland the next day, repair on Wednesday, QC on Thursday and it arrived back here on Friday.

Phone looks exactly like before, screen is perfect, no issues.

The only thing which was a bit weird is that I sent it in the original box and packed that box into a bigger box. I received just the original box wrapped into some plastic, but hey, it survived :D

So I can clearly recommend the CTDI center in Poland!

8T fully bricked immediately after 11.0.2.3

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 06:21 PM PDT

    Hello

OnePlus 8T (Tmobile), barely used, fully bricked immediately after 11.0.2.3 update. Touchscreen dead and power button non-responsive. Only advice from OnePlus is for an RMA. Great! I totally have time for that. Hope everyone heeds the warning and waits on this update.

Is there a way to switch between silent, vibrate, and ring without the slider?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 12:18 PM PDT

Hello, I have a 2 year old OnePlus 6 that is still running strong. However, my alert slider doesn't really work anymore. Is there a way I can swap between these settings without using the slider? I've looked through the settings and didn't find anything. Seems odd there isn't a quick feature for it in the tray.

When I select the share option via Samsung browser I'm always presented with the same contacts in my top row. Can this be changed ?

Buying Oneplus device from India for the UK

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 05:49 PM PDT

I am thinking of buying a Oneplus phone here in the UK, I was thinking of purchasing the Nord. But I have recently found out that in India, it,s much cheaper, to the point where I can get the 8t for only 60 more pounds. I have family there and might be able to buy it there and get it sent here. I have yet to calculate tax and see if its actually worth it, but my main concern for now was if the software and hardware is much different. I want to utilise 5G but I don't know if a Oneplus phone from India will have this, also network compatibility for UK data networks. I was also wondering if the Indian OxygenOS is different, and in what ways it is.

Anyone else having issues with new Popsockets on their 8 Pros?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 05:31 PM PDT

I got a new popsocket for my 8 Pro, and it keeps falling off. The one I used before came with a clear sticker to help it hold on better to phones with glass backs. And it worked pretty well on my 7 Pro.

Apparently newer popsockets now have an updated gel that's supposed to stick better to glass phones, and don't come with the sticker to compensate. But the new one I got isn't working very well at all on my 8 Pro.

I'm wondering if this is just a fluke and I should order a replacement base, or if this is a known issue?

    Hot tubs and 1+8

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 08:36 PM PDT

I just sat in my hot tub for a couple of minutes before realizing I had my phone in my pocket.

I took it out and it has been working for the last hour with no problems. Must say, I'm surprised, great engineering on 1+'s part.

More than just a little water resistant.

Alarm ringtone doesn't ring even if I change it everytime

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 04:44 PM PDT

Hello guys, I noticed that my alarm wakes me up in the morning but with no ringtone, even if I have the max alarm volume and I select manually the song. Is it a known bug? Has someone experienced this thing as well? I currently have a OP7 on Oxygen 10.0.8.

    One Plus 8 Pro

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 08:25 PM PDT

    Hello,

The OnePlus 8 Pro forums are full of banking apps not working with this device...How the hell can a company like OnePlus ignore this bug? Im from Romania...the app im using is called "BT Pay" but it's not working for like almost a month. The banks application is updated to work with Android 11... my coworker is using a Pixel and it's working fine. So WTF is going on OnePlus? I was a big fan of this phones ... i'm using OnePlus since the 3T but this thing is kinda lame. Get your shit together and do something...

Thinking of sending my Nord for warranty due to screen tinting issue

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 04:27 PM PDT

I reached out to OnePlus Support on twitter about my Nord's screen tinting issue (left side goes purple in <40% brightness) and they responded quite quickly, asked for pictures and I thought they would handle the situation quite nicely for me. But after sending them the pictures, they suggested me do a factory reset and clear cache which will do absolutely nothing, since it's a hardware issue.

So do you reckon if I send my phone to OnePlus for warranty, will they replace it? Since two of my friends bought Nords and their screens are perfectly fine. Cause I don't want to spend 2 years with a phone with what I believe is a faulty screen.

OP 8 no longer stays connect to wifi on latest beta version

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 07:21 PM PDT

I've had this oneplus 8 for under 6 months and it's been great up until this latest Android 11 beta version. My phone will no longer stay connected to the wifi since this latest update and it's killing my battery, I don't know what to do. Has anyone else experienced this or have a possible fix to this?

Does a Oneplus 8 Pro IN2020 bought from France accept international SIM Cards?

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 11:55 AM PDT

So I bought a Oneplus 8 pro 128GB IN2020, chinese version with an international ROM, thinking that it could accept SIM cards from Morocco since the ROM is international.

Today I asked the seller if it'll accept the Moroccan SIM card, and he said no. The Phone only accepts french or EU SIM cards.

I want to know if the seller is right or wrong (Can the Moroccan SIM card work or not?). I can still cancel the order as it's still shipping.

    Thanks for your help.

Is there a big difference between the china version, international version and the u.s, Canada version?

I guess the bandwidth might be different but not sure. Anyone know what the differences are if there's any?

    Comment on OP6

    Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:30 PM PDT

Bought mine in 2018 and it's the best phone I've had. Once I had an issue with the battery draining too fast - but then realized it was due to me using an off brand type C for charging. Went completely back to normal when I resumed using the original cable.

Sharing this for ease of troubleshooting for other OP6 users (feel like the phone doesn't get highlighted as much as the other models here)

Love the OP6. I previously used a OPOne

Is OP7T worth it in 2020

    Posted: 30 Oct 2020 01:12 AM PDT

I am on tight budget I want a phone for long term use ..I can get 7t for 435$ . Iphone se 2020 also similarly priced . I am confused coz I have heard about 7t have green tint and bad battery life , SE is also not known for long endurance but it has a better camera and wireless charging.

Oneplus 7t's major feature is amoled display at 90hz .

Which one do you guys suggest ? Please give honest opinion.
