| Achievements not Unlocking through Xbox App Posted: 01 Oct 2020 09:30 AM PDT Hello I have been playing games on my computer through my Xbox game pass subscription on pc. However I've been playing the games and doing the achievements however they have not been unlocking. I'm doing the right thing for the achievements and it's not unlocking or showing. I've been unlocking achievements on my Xbox one but not pc. Please help. The games that haven't been working that I've played are goat simulator, don't starve, age of empires definitive edition. Posted: 01 Oct 2020 02:58 PM PDT So the more I read about google, fb etc. the more I realise just how much they are abusing our personal information with no regard for privacy. Well I guess I've known for a long time, but the extent when I read about it seems kinda crazy. So it got me wondering. Does microsoft do this? Does the windows software or my microsoft online accounts collect and use my personal information in any way? Even if it's just for information? | Need help to delete folders from Windows 10 Posted: 01 Oct 2020 03:28 PM PDT Hello, so I've been trying to delete very old "Windows.old" and after about milion attempts I maybe figured out why it's not working. So in cmd after I try to take ownership or anything, it reports that it works on folders, but the files in them doesn't exist and it says : The system cannot find the file specified. Long versionYou know how you can right-click on a zipfile and have 7zip do the extracting for you? I want to use the right-click menu to invoke a BAT file that adds a program to Windows Firewall. I've added the script to my registry using this method, and this is my BAT script: This is the result. So how do I run that script as administrator? I thought about using the shortcut trick, where you create a shortcut to the bat and set that to run as administrator, but then how would I pass the file as an argument? | "Remediation incomplete" Windows Defender? Posted: 01 Oct 2020 07:46 PM PDT I had downloaded a couple of files in Chrome and they both displayed as "failed - virus detected." Windows defender didn't let me download them and I was quite happy with that. But the two downloads still appear in Windows defender as "remediation incomplete," stating that they're trojans. I've very worried since I am now unsure whether they did pernitrate my PC or not. Any explanation on what this message means and how to fix it would be very appreciated. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Browser Crashes When Trying To Print Posted: 01 Oct 2020 03:04 PM PDT I recently got a new Brother HL-L2370 and connected it via wi-fi to my Dell. The printer works when I do a test page, but when I ctrl+p on any webpage the print preview page crashes along with my browser. I've updated all latest updates to no avail. Restarted multiple times, reset drivers, etc. I even tried to download KB4567523 but it says my computer isn't compatible for this update. I'd appreciate any tips with this! [link] [comments]  | ||
| Windows 7 keeps randomly freezing. No idea why Posted: 01 Oct 2020 02:31 PM PDT Title basically says it all. Some days randomly while using my PC the screen will just freeze, and if I have any videos playing the sound cuts out, and everything. No blue screen or anything, just freezes the screen where it was at. As it every process inside my PC was put on hold. And it's been happening for a few months now but I didn't worry too much because it was only ever like once a month so I just chocked it up to some weird glitch, but it feels like it's happening a bit more frequently now. (still not super frequent, still maybe like twice a month, but it's becoming annoying and I genuinely worry if it means there are any serious issues) I have no idea where to even start with figuring out what could be the root cause of this, only thing I can guess is it's my ssd (since my OS is installed on the ssd). I have Hard Disk Sentinel installed and the temps showing in my bottom right and whenever the crashes happen the temps are fine, around 30c like usual, and inside the program itself the health of both my ssd and hdd still read 100%. I have my gpu and cpu temps showing too through MSI Afterburner but those are fine too at the point of the crash (no idea if a cpu or gpu failing could cause a crash, but there you go) I also installed Crystal Disk Info but it also says "Good 100%" for my ssd health, but there are also numbers in the bottom that I don't exactly know how to read, in case maybe any of them could be indicating a failing ssd. So I'll post a picture of them: https://i.imgur.com/6CvHpOM.png Also no idea if this is connected but I'll just list it anyway in case, recently my internet has been sorta screwy and like sometimes a page won't load and just freezes at nothing and I have to reload it to get it to show up. Though these crashes have been happening long before this more recent issue (and it may just be my internet being stupid recently completely separately from my PC itself) Other than that I'm at a complete loss of what to do to figure this out. Especially as everything seems to be indicating that my ssd is perfectly fine and I don't know what else this could be. So any helpful hints to help me to figure this out would be appreciated! | Please help me fps error low fps Posted: 01 Oct 2020 10:28 AM PDT Hi, two months ago I started playing csgo like always but I noticed that i have low fps and fps drops, i was getting around 140 fps with medium-high settings but i since that day i am getting like 70 fps and a few fps drops, and i thought it was an cs update problem, but recently i wanted to play r6 but only in the menu i was getting irregular fps and in-game i was getting like 60 fps, 40 fps less than normal. can you help me please? i've searched a lot and i think is a windows error but nothing really helped me. btw, my laptop is a hp pavilion with 16gb ram, an i7 and a geforce mx150.
