My pc can’t detect my 5 ghz WiFi band Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:48 PM PDT So I have a router with a 2.4 ghz band and a 5 ghz band and my pc can detect the 2.4 but not the 5 both with and without an Ethernet cable. The thing is, everything else like my phone can detect the 5 ghz and connect to it with no issue. I want to connect my pc through Ethernet through the 5 ghz band. Any help? [link] [comments]

Help!! I accidentally deleted my pictures folder from OneDrive! Posted: 02 Aug 2020 04:42 AM PDT I'm not 100% sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm really desperate. Anyways, I wasn't even logged on OneDrive, so I deleted them right off the computer. I have tried both Recuva and EaseUS Data Recovery, but when I tried EaseUS I found all my pictures, but since it was the "Demo" version I could not recover them. I then installed the free version, but all my pictures were then gone, same with Recuva! I have tried logging into OneDrive and look through the bin and such but I found nothing. Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:41 PM PDT My PC freezes at simple tasks like switching discord servers but also in games like in Rainbow six siege but only when I leave the lobby. I know this may not be the right subreddit to ask but I did the ram check (maybe nice to note its only 8gb) and also checked the harddrive/SSD with the CMD command and every one was ok. So I was wondering since I cant update windows and Im on the april version of 2018. Could this be a problem with Windows [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:24 PM PDT Windows wanted to check the disks, so I let it and now I am stuck in a boot loop. I am now getting the 0xc000014c error when I try to boot, and it says something is wrong with my registry. I have the 64 bit version of windows, so naturally I boot in to Ubuntu to make a recovery drive just to find out I need a larger flash drive than I have. Is there any way to recover it without a disk drive or flash drive without reinstalling Windows [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Aug 2020 03:46 PM PDT Getting a 'HostsFileHijack'' warning from Defender. My 'etc\hosts' file only has two entries: I'm assuming none of this is bad and that Windows is trying to get me to put all of its tracking crap back? Thank you [link] [comments]
My laptop wont show up for miracast Posted: 02 Aug 2020 03:34 PM PDT I am trying to use my laptop as a second monitor for my main desktop and i went through and set everything up and made sure that both were compatible using connect, dxdiag etc. So I finish confirming and then I click connect and my laptop doesnt show up. It did happen like 2 times where it did show up, but when I did click connect, all I got was an error. Now it just wont show up anymore. [link] [comments]
Intermittent Black Screen Flicker since W10 Update 2004 Posted: 02 Aug 2020 03:09 PM PDT Not sure how best to explain this as it appears random/sporadic and I can't seem to find a way to recreate the problem consistently. It happens with both an older Intel CPU, Nvidia GPU based computer and a brand new AMD CPU, AMD GPU based computer, with two separate monitors in different homes. If I'm browsing the internet using Microsoft Edge (GPU acceleration?), watching Netflix or playing a video game, out of nowhere I will lose display input for around 0.5 of a second and will promptly return. Worth noting I personally don't hear any device manager "disconnect" sound effects when this happens, but the display quickly returns to life as if nothing happened. No telling signs in the event viewer afterwards that I can see, although I may be blind! Neither machine has been overclocked intentionally, although I will admit some do happen to be "factory overclocked" models like the MSI 1070 Sea Hawk X. Anyone else experience something similar? Weird problem - plugging in my charger makes my mouse scroll up! Posted: 02 Aug 2020 03:00 PM PDT Hey guys! Having a weird problem I'm hoping you can help me with. I'm an amateur photographer. I'm often looking at large batches of thumbnails in a Windows explorer window. Every time I plug in my laptop (Acer Swift 3) the Windows explorer window instantly scrolls up to the top of the folder and I lose my place! I have a loose charger port so this happens often. It only happens with Windows folders (not Microsoft Word or Google Chrome or anything else). It happens with a mouse plugged in or just the trackpad, and also when the trackpad is locked. I'm on the most up to date version of Windows 10. I hope you guys can help me! [link] [comments]

Some background info ,Main desktop PC in my personal office and then there's the laptop in the bedroom , i simply want to just access the laptop at anytime to be able to troubleshoot or get/send files .Thanks! Worth learning windows adminsistration for personal use (i.e you are not a system administrator)? Posted: 02 Aug 2020 02:36 PM PDT I just wan't to learn the minimum to make sure my lapop is running optimally and be able to spot inefficiencies and potential problems. I am not interested in professional systems administration or running servers etc.. Is it worth learning system adminstration for this? Are there any learning resources people could recommend aimed at people like me as supposed to budding sys-admin professionals. Thanks for your help! [link] [comments]
Realtek audio being super quiet please help! Posted: 02 Aug 2020 02:15 PM PDT Ok so this has been an issue before, yet I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling Realtek. However, with the latest windows update, the audio is messed up again and un/reinstalling is not fixing it. Basically the audio is incredibly quiet, and I cannot hear anything. So far it is fine with headphones plugged in. I've searched tons of forums but nothing is working and I just want it fixed again. Thanks :) [link] [comments]
What is the difference between GSmartControl and HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows? Posted: 02 Aug 2020 02:11 PM PDT HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows came with my laptop while GSmartControl is freeware available on the web. My understanding is the former is used to address issues related to the hardrive while the latter relates to "hard disk and solid-state drives " (which is hardware?). Would it be beneficial to download GSmartControl additionally then and if so why? Thanks for your help! [link] [comments]
Does anyone know how to get the Microphone Boost option in the level settings? Posted: 02 Aug 2020 06:32 AM PDT
Posted: 02 Aug 2020 01:03 PM PDT So I recently built a PC with one 512 gb ssd and one 2tb hdd. I read online that I should install windows into the nvme and I did that, so now it's my C drive. Whenever I download things off the internet such as pictures, PDFs, small programs, etc, it goes to my smaller and faster D drive. It's only 512 gb, so I'd rather use that space on games. Is there a way to change the automatic location of files when downloading them? [link] [comments] |
