Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:03 PM PST I've been having problems with screen tearing for the last few months, and no matter what I do I can't seem to fix it. I've tried updating drivers, messing with v-sync and refresh rate settings, and nothings worked. This problem only came up after I reinstalled windows on my computer. Any help is appreciated, thank you. [link] [comments]

Game is located on drive C, I want to move it to drive D but it says its already there. Posted: 29 Jan 2020 09:21 PM PST I am trying to move a game from my SSD C to my SSD D. I installed it on C, because it was the only drive I had at the time. When I go to try to move it, it says its already on D and my only option is to move it to C, which is full. How can I fix this? Posted: 29 Jan 2020 05:03 PM PST I'm in an odd situation. I tried to upgrade my laptop to Windows10 and it bricked my laptop a while back. I had to get it back using DVDs with the factory image. This way I restored the original Windows 7 factory configuration. Problem is that now I have a Windows 7 frozen in 2009 or so. Windows 7 was working well on it until I tried Windows 10. Is there a place to download the individual KBs so I can install manually? I just want to update it to the latest updates that Microsoft put out. Then I'll make an image. Then I'll try Windows 10 again. I know Windows 10 may not work very well on it, but I want to give it a try. Or go back to the image I would create just before attempting this. Also because these Windows 7 are so old, would there be an update that would take care of all the updates in between? (instead of progressively doing a thousand of them) Thank you for your help - feel free to refer me to another post or websites if this has been asked a million times before. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jan 2020 01:49 PM PST Hello! I am sharing a folder from my windows vista desktop. I can successfully connect to the folder from my other devices, but only when password protection is disabled. When I enable password protected sharing (which is a necessity) I am always told that my user name or password is incorrect but they are not. Any ideas? Update: turns out that it wanted the username "user", despite the fact that my actual account name is Grant. Anyone know why? [link] [comments]
Middle mouse button functionality changed after Windows 10 reinstall Posted: 29 Jan 2020 02:30 PM PST Recently our IT department redid all of our laptops - we were switching IT software or something and had to essentially re-do everything. Now when I middle click anything in any program, instead of functioning like a middle click has done any other time in the history of middle clicks (i.e. open a new tab on any browser), it opens a windows screen that I am unfamiliar with - this one. I have no option to change middle click functionality on the mouse settings in Windows. Changing any and all touchpad functionality did nothing either. Same with reinstalling mouse drivers. Any ideas? [link] [comments]

Color banding issues windows 10 Posted: 29 Jan 2020 02:58 PM PST Hi guys ! I have a problem with the colors displaying on windows that drives me crazy, for some reason , the colors are graduated, all the drivers are up to date, the zoom recommended by windows is 125%, I thought that's where the problem comes from, but no matter what settings I choose, it doesn't fix the problem. I've already tried to tweak the calibration loader settings, disable all ICC profiles, nothing !Has anyone encountered the same problem and has a solution or a work around? Hp laptop windows 10 factory reset - Clear TPM Posted: 29 Jan 2020 10:35 AM PST Im currently in the middle of factory resetting my hp 250 g5 laptop to help clear it up. After waiting a few hours, I've now hit a page that's asking me to whether or not clear the TPM. Either hit f1 to accept or f2 to decline. It says clearing tpm will erase information on TPM including all created keys and access to data encrypted by the keys. Does this include my windows 10 product key? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jan 2020 04:15 AM PST So... there's a bug in Windows which is present since Windows XP, and maybe even before that. I don't know, how many of you guys use the Taskbar at the side of the screen (I use it on the left side) but those who do may know exactly what I'm talking about; After a while (I wasn't able to find out what triggers it or why is it happening) the focus on the Taskbar buttons gets stuck. But only if it's on the side. If I hover over a Taskbar button, it keeps being in "hovered" state, and the small tooltip or small preview shows up and won't disappear (until I press Esc, no matter where I am at that point) This can be fixed temporarly by restarting the Explorer, but sooner or later, it comes back. This bug, however in Windows Vista was way worse, it happened regardless where my Taskbar was. Why is this happening, and... is this bug acknowledged by Microsoft? It's pretty annoying. Those, who experience it too, how do you deal with it? [link] [comments]

Bitlocker and format (permanent data removal question for a fresh win10 install) Posted: 29 Jan 2020 12:45 PM PST Hello guys, I have windows 10, can I enable bitlocker on C drive and have it all encrypted, Then go on to format C, and make a new fresh windows 10 install, for the sole purpose of having all data in the drive being non-recoverable (and if it is, then it would be encrypted I suppose?) Is this possible? (because if it is, I don't see the point of programs that write random data on the disk like 0 and 1, or other programs that guarantee a permanent removal of all data in the drive) ps. All I want is a fresh start with all data being non-recoverable at the cheapest possible price (that includes: a) €URO$ and b) the SSD drive writing KBytes. Because it is an NVME 970 evo plus, ya kno, so I want to avoid eraser programs like random writing zeroes and ones in order to prolong the SSD lifetime as much as possible, already have 700gb written lol) [link] [comments] |
