Still no 10.3.1 update for OP6?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 12:16 PM PST

Nothing yet on oxygen updater, just wondering if anyone has it yet.

Kinda annoying that it is always reported as rolling out the same time as the 6T but thats never been the case for me.

OnePlus Announces Major Camera Improvements For Its Smartphones

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 12:44 AM PST

You get what you pay for. A list of the many hardware and software issues that have arisen my 1-year-old OnePlus 6T.

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 05:30 PM PST

OnePlus offers great prices for low quality devices. It's really that simple. They are a startup that has invested heavily in marketing, image, and supply chain; while skimping on engineering, quality control, and customer support. This business model is obvious to me after using my OnePlus 6T for about a year now.

Some of these issues were present from the moment I took this device out of the box, and some have developed slowly over time.

    Hardware

    1. The speaker volume. Below ~60% volume, it is inaudible unless you are in a library or your bedroom at night. Even at 100% volume, I can never hear it while walking on busy streets, and neither can anybody I am trying to show a video, etc.
    2. The speaker quality. As time has gone, a constant hiss has arisen superimposed over all audio coming out of my speaker. It is always present, and at low volumes, it is louder than the audio I am trying to listen to. It makes it sound like a cheap toy.
    3. The fingerprint sensor. It really just doesn't work. At times, I have had the same fingerprint enrolled in 4 different instances, and I would still regularly have to input my pin because the fingerprint sensor would get disabled after too many failed attempts.
    4. The power button doesn't click anymore. Minor, but my device is in mint condition. I have never dropped this device. It is always in a case. The switch literally just gave out from pure usage. It's mushy and nontactile now. It feels like cheap, low quality junk.
    5. The GPS doesn't reliably determine my location anymore. This one is the wort, and imo, borderline life-threatening. I've seen several posts about this from others. When going on long road trips, my navigation recalculates approximately once every 5 minutes once my OnePlus 6T GPS has brilliantly determined that I am infact travelling the opposite direction into oncoming traffic. It will then loudly spout off incorrect instructions for about a minute before it corrects itself. This has put me in legitimately dangerous traffic situations while travelling in unfamiliar parts before.

    Software

    1. When returning to the homescreen, there is often just a blank image of my wallpaper, and nothing will resolve this until I restart my phone.
    2. Web browser (brave) often deadlock-freezes and there is no way to recover the app until I force close it and reopen it, oftentimes causing me to lose work.
    3. For about a month, I couldn't update any app on the Google Play store. All attempts to download any updates would be stuck on "Update pending" for eternity. I was forced to factory reset my phone 3 times before this problem went away.
    4. Notifications will randomly disappear from certain apps without being cleared.
    5. Poor framerate everywhere. Especially since the new update. It's particularly bad when using gestures instead of the software buttons.
    6. Once in a while, a particularly horrible episode of framerate drop will come about for seemingly no reason. To my eye, like 5-10 fps. It won't go away without a device restart.

There's more, but this has already taken up too much of my time as is. I just want everybody who's thinking about buying one of these phones to see this. If you care about solid device engineering and quality control, maybe you should consider another device. I've heard the 7 Pro is really great, so maybe a lot of what I'm saying in this post isn't valid anymore with their present products.

If you're listening OnePlus, please hire some more engineers.

WhatsApp not backing up during the night

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 06:03 PM PST

Hey everyone, I'm on a 6T Android 10 and I have set auto backup for my WhatsApp for everyday at 2am, only to wakeup everyday to it backing up when I first look at my device in the morning. Also seems that other apps get kinda paused during the night.

    Any ideas?

    Cold Weather & 7 Pro

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 04:55 PM PST

    Hey everyone!

Just want to preface this with the fact that I work outside daily. This last month, I have noticed that every time I come in from cold weather and attempt to use my phone, I get phantom touches on the top, let's say, 1/6 of my screen. It's usually the top right section, like when the 7 Pro first came out and had the issue with phantom touches (that were fixed with an update). Once the phone warms up, the issue goes away. Has anyone else had this happen?

Dark Mode greyed out on Reddit app since (Reddit) update today, back on the glaring white screen, anyone else?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 01:59 PM PST

I tried changing it in settings to no avail. OnePlus 6T International still on Android 9, sent a bug report to Reddit fwiw.

Anyone have any knowledge on reliability of the "international" versions of the 7 pro? Website stock is out and I'm desperate

Is the 7T worth the upgrade from the 6T?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 06:08 PM PST

I really love my 6T. It does everything I need, and I honestly have no reason to upgrade, other than the fact that I like new phones. I normally upgrade phones once or twice a year, but I've had this since November 2018, so I think it's time for a change.

So my question is, will there be enough of a difference to make the switch worth it, or should I wait for the 8?

From what I hear, 90hZ refresh rate is godlike, and the display itself is apparently better on the 7T, as is the camera(s), and charging speed. Anything else that you guys like about it more than the 6T?

I mostly just use my phone for watching videos, social media, porn, and a ridiculous amount of hours of PUBG Mobile.

Was there a screen protector already installed on the OnePlus 7t Pro Mclaren 5G? The fingerprint sensor is almost non-functional. and swipe up gesture from the bottom barely works.

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 05:59 PM PST

I just picked up the phone from T-Mobile, and they put a screen protector on in-store. I got home and I've been trying to set up the phone, but I'm having a rough go. When trying to register my fingerprint, about half of the time it says the screen is too dirty; again, brand new device, screen is as clean as can be. After enough attempts I can get a fingerprint registered, but it won't work to unlock. My fingers work fine on my iPad Pro's TouchID sensor.

The swipe up gesture from the bottom to go home/access task switch also is hit or miss. I've heard nothing but good things about this line of phones, so I can only assume its something wrong on this device. Only thing I could think of is that there was already a screen protector installed and they put another on top of it, messing with multi-touch sensitivity. I read that some other OnePlus models come with a screen protector if ordered direct from OnePlus, but given that this is a premium edition and only T-Mobile sells it, I thought maybe this model did too?

If that's not the problem, does anyone else have any ideas?

How to turn off wireless bullets 2?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 12:25 PM PST

Is there any way to turn off bullets without having to snap them together via the magnet? It's really annoying and almost unusable to travel with because I constantly have to dig out my headphones and re snap them together or they just connect to my phone. I read that after 5 mins it should just turn off but that just isn't the case. Pretty shitty design. These werent necessarily cheap but I'm getting pretty fed up with them. Pretty much useless unless I use them at home. I can't take them anywhere.

    Anyone have a solution?

Lockscreen bugs from time to time resulting in the album art wall from vanishing. Would prefer this lockscreen over the normal one. Oneplus should make this an option.

Anti-Glare Tempered Glass Screen Protector for 7T

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:45 PM PST

Is there such thing as a Anti-Glare Tempered Glass Screen Protector for 7T? Or are those two complete separate things and can only get either or type of deal? Like Anti-Glare only comes as a film and Tempered Glass will always have glare.

Is there an option to rearrange the software buttons?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 02:16 PM PST

Hi all! I just upgraded from a Galaxy S7 (long time Galaxy user, from S3 to S7) to a OP5T for only $120CAD! I'm really excited about this phone, it seems great so far.

I'm really used to this format:

    Apps - Home - Back

However, OP5T uses Back - Home - Apps

Is it possible to swap these? I really enjoy the other format due to how I use/hold the phone.

    Cheers

Minus the locked bootloader, is there any other downside to buying a Sprint unlocked OnePlus 7 Pro?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 11:50 AM PST

I can deal with not being able to root (there seems to be an exploit coming anyway), but I just want to know if there's anything else I might be disappointed by. I've heard talk about software updates taking even longer than typical carrier unlocked devices due to it being the 5G variant. Any experiences?

Edit: to add to this I'm on AT&T. Don't care about 5G capabilities I just found the refurbished Sprint unlocked ones on eBay much cheaper.

    Slow proceeding photos?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 03:29 PM PST

OnePlus 7 pro with 10.3.0.GM21AA, So I'm having this issue when I open the camera, take a photo and try to look at it. I open the photo via the small icon at the bottom right, the photo opens but it goes right back to the camera, it doesn't let me see the photo, have to wait and try a couple times. Don't know what triggers it, it happens sometimes. Also, some pictures wont show up it Google photos. They did show in the native photo gallery.

Anyone having this issue? May have to do a hard reset and see if it fixed.

OnePlus6 battery life pretty bad with Android 10 (10.3.0)?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 05:56 PM PST

So i noticed my battery drain pretty fast after i got android 10. Is this something you guys experience too, or have my battery just suddenly gone to shit. I don't really know how much faster my battery drains compared to before, but it feels like at least twice as fast compared to like a month ago when i had android 9. I really hope 10.30.1 is maybe fixing this issue. I did a full reset and flashed a fresh 10.30.0 when the update released.

Google Pay Issues in Oneplus 7 Pro

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 05:41 PM PST

Keep getting an error message on the EFTPOS terminal when I use Google Pay, saying that tap is not supported and to swipe/insert instead (which obviously, I can't). This requires the cashier to go in and cancel the transaction, then re-do it, and it normally works on the second time.

Anyone else having this issue? Happens about 80% of the time for me and it's getting frustrating, especially when it sometimes doesn't even work on the second time.

7T - Spigen Liquid Air vs Rugged

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 01:33 PM PST

My 7t just came in the other day and I had a Spigen Rugged ready to go.

However I find that the lips are a bit too big and makes doing edge swipes difficult.

Has anyone tried both Spigen Rugged and Liquid cases?

I don't want to buy a Liquid case only to discover that it's no different.

I'm currently using the screen protector that the 7T comes with. My tempered glass won't be coming in until next week.

    Thank you,

What are these lines that appear on the corners?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:01 AM PST

Hey so after I updated to beta OOS on my 7pro I have seen these lines (http://imgur.com/gallery/yH1wuWn) pop up after I swipe up to return to home or unlock my device, they stay there and then disappear...

They don't pop up on my screen shot so I drew these, how do I get rid of them?
