Cursor jitters when transitioning to other cursors HELP

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 06:36 PM PDT

Ok, long story short I use a Wacom Mobile Studio Pro, which is a screen graphics tablet and when I (without clicking) move my cursor over some text for example, sometimes when the pointer turns into the text/highlighting vertical line thingy (or any time when the pointer turns into another contextual cursor) it will jitter for about a millisecond, like it appears about an inch away and then snaps back to where it should be.

The reason why I need help with this is that jitter movement seems to perfectly coincide with a noticeable bit of lag that occurs when I use any modifier button in photoshop. For example: I have the brush open, I press alt to use the eye dropper, the cursor switches/jitters and in that time if I press the stylus onto the screen I get a series of specific and weird input bugs which kill my painting efficiency.

I've been trying to trouble shoot this response lag/bugs for weeks now and I have no idea what is causing it. I thought it might be photoshop, I thought it might be the tablet, but now I think it could be windows... or maybe it's all three. I don't know and it's driving me to the brink of insanity. The fact that it has gotten consistently worse over the last year is why I'm freaking out.

I'm just absolutely clueless as to where the problem is originating from so if it could originate on windows end, maybe someone here could help?

Some fullscreen apps go completely black unless I'm holding onto a volume button

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 02:47 PM PDT

These apps include the Windows Video Player, Minecraft Windows 10 Edition and the game Aim Hero from Steam. Any reason why this might be happening? I didn't update anything prior to this happening.

    Thanks in advance!

After this latest update, can you no longer have multiple instances of Microsoft Photos open?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 08:04 PM PDT

Just like the thread title says. Before this (newest, incredibly awful) update, I could have as many instances of Photos open as my heart desires. Now, I can only have one. Is there any way to fix this?

    Typing Unicode in Windows 10

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 07:27 PM PDT

I did the whole regedit thing and whenever I try to type, say, U+0007 "" the bell, in 99.99% of all programs (everything except notepad++) it will spit out •, a bullet point. The keys I hit are [holding]LeftAlt + + + 7, then let go of LeftAlt. Plus, any characters that require any letters don't type at all, doesn't matter if I hit any other keys, it will only listen to my numpad.

Any way to fix this, or am I just stuck with copy+pasting?

Windows 10 installation seems to be stuck!

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 02:59 PM PDT

Finished building a new PC today and I am currently at the Windows installation point of the build. I'm using a SunBow 1TB SSD and a USB drive to install windows. Currently I'm sitting at the "Collecting Information" part right when you click begin and nothing has happened and it's been a long while. Any recommendations on what to do? I've tried restarting multiple times already. Thanks!!

    Unable to update Windows

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 06:48 AM PDT

    Hi there,

I am running Windows 10 home build 1803 and I want to update to the latest build version. However, when I try to update by going to Update & Security settings, my PC shows 'You're up to date' message along with -

'You're currently running a version of Windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements.'

How do I update my PC?

    Thanks

    Windows 10 audio problems

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 02:55 PM PDT

    Hello,

I have several of the same Windows 10 computers, all are Dell purchased beginning of this year. I have a custom image on them that has NONE of the Dell software.

The problem I'm trying to resolve is they all occasionally have an audio problem where the audio starts out quiet and builds up to the set volume over the course of maybe 1 second. It will then stay at the set volume until audio stops. Once there is about 5 seconds of no audio, if audio starts again, it does the same "buildup" to the set volume.

I've tried different configuration settings. I've updated the driver. I've rolled the driver back. There's no other audio enhancement I can find. If I move the speakers to the front headphone port, the problem goes away. However, this brings other issues as the headphone jack is amplified so there's a minor hiss since the speakers are double amplified, so I don't want to call this a "fix".

    Any thoughts? I'm stumped.

    No Audio on Windows 10

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 02:12 PM PDT

This happened 10 minutes ago and I still have this issue. Windows detects my headphones but it can't output audio for some reason. I tried using speakers to see if it was my PC or my headphones not working but the speakers couldn't output audio either. What is going on?

EDIT: System Sounds and other applications were muted in volume mixer for some reason.

BSOD Thead Stuck in Device Driver

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 11:35 AM PDT

As the title already states, I get this stop code for almost two months now. Its not easy to replicate, it sometimes happens at the first two minutes I'm in a game, sometimes I play for 4 hours with no problems and sometimes it happens while I'm browsing. I tried to update all my drivers but I'm not really tech savvy so I don't know if I missed any. I downloaded all the available ones on Asus website and from Nvidia's game ready drivers. Any help/recommendations?

    Windows 10 Pro 1903, I think (I'm at work right now, I can't verify)

    Thank you all in advance.

My Win7 OEM is no longer recognized

    Posted: 27 Sep 2019 09:09 PM PDT

About two years ago I bought the windows 7 OEM from SoftwareLicense4U. Yesterday I got a message that my version was not authentic and today Im told by my Origin client that until I update my OS or get my OS authenticated, I cannot basically use Origin. I can't purchase games or use any of the other features.

How can I remedy this? Do I need to re-enter the key somewhere?

Will Windows Factory Reset erase the logged in user?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 05:16 AM PDT

I received a Dell Latitude 3550 from work when I began there in May of 2016. I left that job nearly a year ago, but they were kind enough to let me buy the laptop for cheap after I removed all the relevant data. As far as I'm aware, the Windows 10 user is still registered to Company A, while my Office 365 account is registered to my current workplace, Company B.

I've now had it for 3.5 years and it's feeling the age, getting slow. It's got an Intel Core i5, 16 GB RAM and an SSD Hard Drive, but if I open more than 3-4 tabs at one time it'll slow to a crawl.

My questions - 1) Will restoring to factory settings help speed up the computer? 2) What happens to the Windows user from Company A? Does it still stay on the laptop through the factory reset or will I need the login/credentials or a new user for it to work again?

    How to increase battery life?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2019 04:36 AM PDT

Hey guys, apologies if this question has been asked before but i can't seem to find any good ideas that i haven't already tried. I wanted to see if there was a way to increase my laptop battery life without taking much of a performance hit. I mainly use my laptop for browsing, watching TV & light gaming (since i have an mx250, maybe this could be draining power?) and my battery life is very poor. My laptop also dies on 20% and i have to wait a bit for it to charge so that i can use it. If you know any suggestions as to how i can get better battery life without making the laptop stutter or anything it would be great!
