DISK DRIVE AT 100% AND I LITERALLY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ON MY COMPUTER Posted: 03 Sep 2019 03:58 PM PDT So, I was just on my computer browsing and then all of a sudden my PC turned off. I gave it a few minutes, rebooted it back up and logged on, after this happed I can't open anything, everything takes like 40 minutes to load and I've tried literally everything possible, I've tried to reset my pc, it won't let me do that, I've started it in safe mode, same problem happens. I've also disabled superfetch and windows search because my computer is at 100% disk usage. If anyone could help me solve this problem I would really appreciate your help. [link] [comments]
"Activate Windows" back in corner of screen after upgrading PC Posted: 03 Sep 2019 03:45 PM PDT Hello all. Just yesterday I upgraded my PSU, Mobo, and fans in my computer; as well as putting it into a new case. Since then, it has said Activate Windows in the bottom right corner of my screen. I have a verified purchase of windows on my SSD so Im not too sure why this is there. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sleep (S3) does not turn off fans Posted: 03 Sep 2019 05:25 PM PDT Sleep (s3) doesn't turn off the fans, how do I go about troubleshooting it? Sometimes the fans run at a higher RPM as soon as I sleep until I wake up the system.
The I'm running Windows 7 and have turned off hibernation with I don't know what to do to further troubleshoot. Any help or troubleshooting tips appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Sep 2019 08:59 PM PDT Is there any app that allows you to customize the detailed status that you can set on the lockscreen instead of the normal default Weather, Alarms, Calendar, etc? Even just putting a nice note on your lockscreen would be nice. Imagine connecting a webserver with a dynamic JSON or something that updates and then having the app check it and display info on your lockscreen. I would really want something like that. Posted: 03 Sep 2019 05:12 PM PDT so i tried to clean install win10, got stuck on 22% for 8 hours, restarted, it didnt give option to install win10 it did something different idk it was recovery or something, and then it got to 23% and was stuck for 5 hours, restarted it, but then the next time it went to try to boot up and it would get past the gateway or whatever screen and then blackscreen as if it was going past that and then it would appear again that would happen on repeat nonstop and i couldnt even get back to where i had the option to clean install windows 10 from USB so i said fuck okay this isnt working. maybe if i use CDs itll do something different. put in windows 7 factory default CDs( i dont have cds for 10) i still have in my drawers. well. now i installed 7 and i realised oh shit i cant go back to windows 10 the free upgrade option is gone i guess im straight up fucked. EVERYTHING is slower functioning and takes longer opening etc but okay i have no choice. so i went to install/remove programs and removed all the extra junk that came with windows like nero, barnes and nobles, etc.. and i saw adobe air / flash player and was like oh right those shouldnt be there flash is dead now i have this stupid fucking popup that happens every idk how often... but its like every 30 mins or less. okay well its a factory default restore and MBAM is about 90 mins in and so far has 1 threat detected (taking a long ass time why the fuck is it taking forever??) Posted: 03 Sep 2019 02:24 PM PDT After a few weeks of my computer continually moaning to update, I finally had a chance to restart and update. Now all file operations (move, copy/paste, rename, delete, etc) thru windows explorer seem to work as normal, until it gets to 99%, then if freezes for 30+ seconds (or up to 5 minutes when I was deleting a few thousand temp files. The last 1% took more than 5 times longer than the other 99%!). This was one of the major updates, this one required several restarts and about 45 minutes. Something's fucky, and I don't know how to fix it. EDIT: The update managed to delete several of my StickyNotes, leaving only 1 left. I've also had many many instances where I can't restart my computer because it's doing some rendering or FEA, but Windows update decides to do it anyways, killing multiple days worth of work! So far, I haven't been able to turn off updates completely.... any help? [link] [comments]

What did the latest update do to my computer?? Posted: 03 Sep 2019 12:57 PM PDT Update 1903 has completely messed up my computer. I let it update overnight and when I got back on, my computer has just been terrible. My mouse frequently double-clicks, random Chrome tabs will crash, the volume on my computer is lower despite everything being turned up. It seems too much of a coincidence for all this to happen only after the new update. [link] [comments]

How to stop WiFi password from automatically being shared across user accounts. Posted: 03 Sep 2019 05:22 AM PDT I have a Windows 8.1 PC that connects to the internet over WiFi. The PC has multiple user accounts. I would like to have the WiFi password only saved on user accounts that know the password. However, currently the WiFi password is shared across all the user accounts, if it is saved on one account. How do I stop this automatic WiFi connectivity? Thanks. [link] [comments]
[1903] Certain games crashing *Call of Duty IW no longer works* Posted: 03 Sep 2019 12:47 PM PDT Call of Duty Infinite Warfare lags and crashes on the menus due to the 1903 updates, and when I and others researched around this seems to be an issue across multiple games. Lags/stutters/crashing/lower performance. I've confirmed this by 5 other users who've recently updated to 1903 that Infinite Warfare crashes and stutters constantly Really wishing I didn't update to this garbage [link] [comments]
I FIXED THE DOLBY MIC BUG ONCE AND FOR ALL Posted: 03 Sep 2019 07:48 AM PDT So, you know that (especially on Acer laptops) Dolby will turn off once your mic gets used in any way. Now, I tried literally everything, and I actually found the solution. Go to your trusted partner "recording devices", go to your mic, click on the 2nd tab (idk, listening or so, I have it on german), check "Use device as playback source" or so, save, go back and disable it and try it out! It worked for me! Dolby stays on! [link] [comments]

How do i install a windows 10 iso file on a sd cars? (Read Description) Posted: 03 Sep 2019 11:54 AM PDT I know how to install it, problem is that I want win10 for my new (no-operatingsystem) Computer and I only have a windows 8 laptop and a Mac. Posted: 03 Sep 2019 05:54 AM PDT Hi. I have an 8 GB of RAM installed on my PC. I only have 3.20 GB usable. But I think this is due to the 32-bit OS that is installed on my pc (Windows 8). I have been thinking of dual-booting (Windows 10) with 64-bit because I don't want to lose all my files and I don't have that much time to backup everything. Do you think that I can use more RAM and fix this 3.20 GB usable? [link] [comments]
Found a Surface Pro 6 cheap locally. Worth it? Posted: 03 Sep 2019 11:46 AM PDT I found a new Surface Pro 6 with keyboard and stylus on Facebook marketplace. I got the woman to go down to $600 for all of it. Is this a good deal? I'm currently using a 2014 MacBook Pro and the specs for the Surface blow it out of the water (8th gen i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD). She said she got it for her birthday (she's a 20-year-old college student) and did not want it. Everything seems credible, so this is like deal of the year material if I can snatch it! Windows 10 Update keeps failing, then gives reminder every day to update which always fails Posted: 03 Sep 2019 09:55 AM PDT Just like the title says, my windows 10 keeps asking me to update it. Whenever I give it the ability to update and the update starts, it takes a couple of minutes, then reboots and gives me a notification of how it wasn't able to finish the update. Afterward, Windows will keep asking me to update it, regardless of the fact that every time I try to update it, it fails. What annoys me is that I can't turn the windows update off and I clearly can't update it due to some unknown reason, which is making me so annoyed I'm actually thinking of saving up for a Mac... Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this windows update issue? [link] [comments]
Don't edit your confidential information with Edit & Create Posted: 03 Sep 2019 03:51 AM PDT Above is my recording of editing a very confidential document with Windows Photos app's Edit & Create feature. What's the point of editing the photos if the ink is gonna fly and move like crazy inks from Harry Potter? It saves to a normal jpg file but that animated information still lives on in the file so I think restoring the original photo is definitely doable. Does anyone know about this for sure? I've edited some of my (really) confidential info in the images with this crappy app in the past and now I'm really worried. I definitely wanna turn off this "feature" but the option is nowhere to be found in Photos app's settings. Should I completely abandon the stock Photos app? [link] [comments] |
