It would also be great if we could change the strength of warp charge, its the only charger at my desk and I feel like I'm ruining the battery every time I plug it in. | I think Acer service center messed with my 5t Posted: 20 Aug 2019 08:44 AM PDT Couple months ago my 5t's volume buttons stopped working. It wouldn't click but it seemed there was dust stuck so I just cleaned around it (opened it up) and it worked perfectly. Then I found out power button stopped working. It would click but not do anything. I bought a 7 pro for the mean time so I could stop worrying about this 5t but all my data is still on here and I want to properly wipe it before I ditch it I bought a new power button flex on eBay and before I received the button flex I just opened up the device to see if anything visible showed up that might've lead to the power button going. I saw marks kinda cutting into it so I figured I just cut into it with my metal pry tool when I was trying to open the phone up. Figures, the button flex replacement should work when I get it in the mail. I didn't take any pictures of the motherboard or pins before hand as I figured i didn't have to but I was very gentle with plugging things in and on inspection I would definitely take notes if a pin was bent and if I couldn't get something connected properly again. Also if a connector was gone I would've noticed when I was putting it back together. The shipping on that was so delayed, it got lost in postal and I figured to heck with it. I'll just send it to OnePlus and see if they can fix it up for me I sent it over there, quickly and free shipping. They opened it up and said it would be $368 or something for a motherboard replacement. I asked why and they said well we don't have just the cable we have to replace the whole thing and we see evidence you tampered with the device. I'm not paying $368 for an old phones motherboard to get replaced Especially after buying a 7 pro so I said I didn't want to continue with the repair and they sent it back. About a couple weeks after they sent it back here we are, I'm thinking about parting out the phone and selling the battery and other small parts to see if anyone wants to buy it for parts. Still trying to figure out how to wipe it without a working power button too if anyone knows how I opened up the phone (gently of course this isn't my first phone repair) and I'm inspecting the internals. I notice right away that this connector for the charging system had bent pins (both on the cable and the motherboard). I also noticed it just laying like this which obviously wasn't right. That's why I feel like it was the repair technician who did this. They said I tampered with the device (there was some scratches on the bottom from my pry tool which yes, I admit to but all this? No I strongly think it wasnt me. Because it says tampering they knew I went into the device and that they could technically do some things internally to push it to a full motherboard repair and say it was like that when they received it. Since I said I didn't want it replaced they could just send it back to me knowing that "this person's gonna have to do the same thing if they decide to fix it, motherboard repair" If these pins and the connector were like this when I put the device together I would've known "hey this is gonna be a motherboard replacement so don't bother sending it in because expensive" and I also would've gotten annoyed when they wouldn't of connected properly like it doesn't connect now. | Unpopular opinion: I recently switched from OnePlus 5T to OnePlus 6T and ... I miss my ex phone. Posted: 20 Aug 2019 03:59 AM PDT So having a 64GB 5T was causing me some problems. My Dad was switching from his 6T to iPhone XR because he was missing Apple and he gave his 6T to me. He insisted and then I accepted the phone thinking it's obviously an upgraded version with double the storage I had. I just first don't like the idea of in display fingerprint sensor. It's time consuming, fails sometimes and once a while it's pressed by my finger by mistake while holding my phone and then due to many unintentional attempts to unlock it, the finger print sensor locks for a while. I just love having it at the back. Didn't like the notch but thankfully, I can hide that one. I prefer LED Notification light and bit of bezels like in 5T. Then also the headphone jack ... All in all, I think I still kinda live in 2016 and I haven't evolved with the Industry. I am not disappointed in this phone. Neither am I disappointed for where the Industry is heading. The other person on the other line can hear us but we can't hear them. It would cut off for a few seconds several times throughout the call. For example, Good ____ .how's _______ day______. I don't like the 7 Pro and I'm debating between these two because I would rather get a phone directly from OnePlus (I'm in Canada where 7 isn't available) but I guess if the difference is too big I guess I'd rather take the risk and buy from a third-party seller.. | Brand New 7 Pro Defective in box :( Posted: 20 Aug 2019 12:22 PM PDT Just received my One Plus 7 Pro in the mail, and there is a weird, horizontal, pixelated line that keeps appearing from the left side of the screen spontaneously. Sent pics and a video to One Plus support chat, went through the motions of trouble shooting, now I have to RMA it. Apparently I also have to pay shipping for the RMA as well from the looks of the email I got from Acer. So I paid for a 700$ phone, an extra 10 to get the priority shipping to get it faster, get said phone and it's defective, and now have to pay more and wait even longer. Pretty bummed about this, and think it's a bit ridiculous to have to pay shipping for an RMA of an out of box defective product. Keep in mind, I'm not mad about the fact that it's defective. I worked in a store for a major carrier for 8+ years, and I've seen it with every brand. It's rare, but it happens. The time is a bummer, but I know they need to receive the defective device before sending another one out. I'm fine with that too. | Posted: 20 Aug 2019 07:50 PM PDT I am having a weird issue with my OP6T and hoping to see if anyone else has experienced this issue or if there is a known fix for this. I have been searching google for hours but all I am finding is "how to recover deleted photos" fixes. My issue is that I have a handful of photos that I have taken with my phone that I deleted and made sure are not on my SD card anymore but somehow keep reappearing in my gallery and multiplied. The 4-5 photos return and there are like 4-5 copies of each one for some reason. I have tried to disable the google backup/sync but that doesn't seem to be the issue and am at a loss since google doesn't really help. I even downloaded an app that deletes the multiples of photos and that didn't really help either. any and all help is appreciated. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Problems with the speaker on my 6T Posted: 20 Aug 2019 03:55 PM PDT Went out the other night, before which everything was fine, and when I woke up in the morning max volume out of the bottom speaker is just a fraction of what it was previously. I didn't get it wet at all or drop it as far as I'm aware and have tried googling for solutions but the only results seem to be relating to the speaker grill on the right side. I was waiting to see how the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 turned out and I wasn't very impressed so I started looking elsewhere. I've finally landed on the OnePlus 7 Pro and would really like to buy one (minus no headphone jack but whatever). Do you guys think I should hold out for another month and change to see what the 7T Pro may feature? I'm new to OnePlus so I'm not very familiar with that the typical upgrades are like. | Spotify notification disappears immediately when music is paused (OP6) Posted: 20 Aug 2019 06:57 PM PDT Hi, so for the last two or so weeks Spotify has been acting up. When music is playing and I pause it from the notification panel, so be it from any app or the lock screen, the notification just goes away and when I go back into Spotify, the song starts over. It also happens when the music is interrupted by another app, such as playing a video or recording an audio message in WhatsApp. Before, the music would just pause and resume once the video or recording was done, but now it just goes away and I have to go into the app all over again. I've already wiped cache and it didn't help. I didn't think much of it at first but it's getting really annoying and inconvenient now. I'm running Open Beta 24 on OnePlus 6. Don't think it should be a oos problem. I tried searching if anyone had experienced this issue but can't seem to find a fix or ppl experiencing similar problem. I heard that oneplus provides users with a shipping label for free, so I was wondering if I would be able to send in my phone, get a price for the repair, and then decide whether or not I'd accept? | Posted: 20 Aug 2019 01:23 PM PDT I want it so bad, but I have to buy from third-party sellers who mostly get the Chinese version and flash Oxygen on it, I've heard stories of phones being rooted accidentally, sellers installing malware, and honestly just being untrustworthy, claiming they sell a red international version from Hong Kong when Hong Kong doesn't sell the red. Anyways , do you guys know if it'll ever come out in Canada? Or will it never happen if it isn't released from the start. | The 7 Pro does not feel so 90hz anymore in some apps Posted: 20 Aug 2019 12:58 PM PDT So especially in chrome when I scroll through articles it is not as fluent as it was before. I tried switching it to 60 and than to 90 hz again deletet cache and data of chrome but that didn't help.
