I think OnePlus should launch a smaller and more affordable phone Posted: 18 Aug 2019 09:34 PM PDT With the 7 Pro, OnePlus did two things that made the phone not for everyone - they made it too big and too expensive (compared to their previous phones). The small phone market is pretty dry - Galaxy S10, iPhone XS, and Pixel 3/3a - three of which are expensive flagship phones. Here's what the specs of this phone could look like: - 6 inch 1080p 60hz all screen AMOLED display - Pop up camera + OP7 back camera setup - Snapdragon 730 - 3500 mAh battery - Side mounted fingerprint scanner (like S10e) - Headphone jack $350 Budget phones look good on paper, but the poor software ruins them. This was changed with the Pixel 3a and I think OnePlus could also enter this market. With OxygenOS being arguably the best Android skin, the weaker processor wouldn't make a difference. OnePlus has been criticized for removing the headphone jack, making the 7 Pro too big, and increasing prices every year. With the budget market being so important recently especially in countries like India, I think OnePlus shouldn't ignore the lower end of the smartphone market. Edit: The price should be $400 [link] [comments]
OnePlus should default the dialer to swiping up Posted: 19 Aug 2019 09:06 AM PDT I just missed an important call because I resetted my phone a week ago and forget to change the dialer swipe to up. I don't understand why Up is not the default? Why would anyone swipe down to answer a call, it's so awkward. [link] [comments]

Apps reenabling on their own - any ideas? Posted: 19 Aug 2019 11:43 AM PDT Hey my dudes. After trying out a custom rom for a couple of days I decided to go back to stock. So I just went and got the MSMDownloadTool from XDA and reset the phone to it's original state. Installing OOS was easy and no problem. Right now the phone is running fine except a little issue mentioned in the title: certain apps keep reenabling on their own. I've disabled Google Duo, Drive and Photos as I don't use them. Drive actually only reenabled once. But Duo and Photos keep reenabling on their own - it's just weird. I've disabled them 7 or 8 times now over the span of 2 days, but the setting just won't stick. What I've tried so far is clearing cache from recovery, disabling and force stopping each of the apps and clearing their individual cache again, clear their storage, but nothing works. Any ideas? I don't know what to do about this, it's quite annoying but I don't want to reset it again. Thanks in advance for any input! [link] [comments]
Thinking about upgrading to OP7 from SGS8 Posted: 19 Aug 2019 10:40 AM PDT So I've had my Galaxy s8 for 2 years now and it's just starting to slow down and the battery has gotten pretty bad (with a 45 minute commute of listening to music and browsing the web I'll lose about 30%) and I'm thinking about a Oneplus cause they're one of the few reasonably priced well specced phone. Only things getting me are the size and the camera, anybody else gone through something similar who can advise? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Aug 2019 03:17 PM PDT A few months ago I suddenly developed a problem with the earpiece where the max volume is so low I can just about hear it in a totally silent room. Speaker mode works fine. Today I took it apart and replaced the earpiece speaker and while the volume is now better its still too low. Its a PITA because I can't just make calls without carrying around a headset with me. Anyone managed to fix this problem? [link] [comments]
Show bullets wireless v2 battery in windows 10 Posted: 19 Aug 2019 01:03 PM PDT The problem I have is I can't see the battery percentage in my windows laptop. I can see it in my oneplus 5, but I have to change to it just to check my battery sometimes. I know that windows allows displaying battery percentage for bluetooth peripherals, I just don't know how to do it with bullets. Do I have to install any driver?? Or showing the battery percentage not supported for windows 10?? [link] [comments]
OP7 Pro from SGS8+, display saturation? Posted: 19 Aug 2019 11:18 AM PDT I love the over saturated colors on Samsung displays, does the OnePlus 7 Pro display offer similar levels of saturation? I'm gonna buy one soon but this is make or break for me. I just sold a Huawei P30 Pro after 3 days of using it just because the colors looked too bland after years of using Samsung. Posted: 19 Aug 2019 02:55 PM PDT I'm thinking of getting the rhinosheild tempered glass screen protector for my OP7. Have any of you used rhinosheild screen protectors, or heard good/bad things about them? [link] [comments]
Random camera pop-out with OP7P Posted: 19 Aug 2019 06:05 AM PDT Hi all, I'm having a concerning problem : for the last couple days, my front camera random pop out and back in when I open a web-page. It happened from the Google feed while opening an article, but also once from reddit when opening a YouTube video. I'm genuinely worrying at this point. Have you experienced any similar issue? Screen capture causing screen to become Posted: 19 Aug 2019 11:39 AM PDT I'm experiencing an error that causes my phone screen to become unresponsive (animations still play, but nothing happens when I tap the screen). If I lock and unlock my phone, the screen goes black except for a small strip across the top. The only way to resolve this is to do a hard reset of the phone. This happens randomly when using the app Calcy IV, which briefly records my screen when I tap the app overlay button. As I use this button hundreds of times per day, I receive this error several times per day and have to reboot my phone each time, which is very inconvenient. I've reached out to the app developer and was told the following:
Is there any way to resolve this issue? I am on OxygenOS version 9.0.16 with Oneplus 6T. [link] [comments]
New to OnePlus, Wondering How SSDs connect Posted: 19 Aug 2019 04:58 PM PDT So basically, I shoot YouTube videos on my 6T, and a friend of mine edits them. I'm thinking about getting a small portable SSD to get the files from my phone to the drive, give him the drive, he can plug it into his laptop and edit them. I was wondering if I can just buy a standard Samsung SSD, use the cable to connect it with my phone, and then transfer the files. Is there anything I should know before I do this? How do I update my rooted 5t to Pie from Oreo? Seems more complicated than usual Posted: 19 Aug 2019 04:20 PM PDT So I stopped updating my 5t when oos 9 / pie was released last year because I was reading a lot of negative feedback about the release from OnePlus. I also remember seeing the steps on the update and got really confused. I currently use TWRP and I'm on last OOS 8.1 version, 5.1.7. Can I update straight to the latest OOS 9 patch? August 19 update? Regardless if I perform a dirty or clean install of the OS, I'm still confused about removing the capability file from the oos installer ZIP. What is that and how do I do that? And do I have to update my TWRP recovery? If so, to which version? I keep seeing multiple versions. So confused. Obviously looked at xda but I hate searching for stuff on that forum. OnePlus 7 pro problem with keyboard, any fix? Posted: 19 Aug 2019 10:09 AM PDT https://imgur.com/gallery/tQfmbag It doesn't show what I type, anybody else with this issue? Any tips on how to solve it would be greatly appreciated! Happens in many different apps. Edit : Had used immersive mode on some apps via ADB commands, turned them of and now it works, shame i Can't use it thought. [link] [comments]
Anyone have any cool lock screen wallpapers that incorporate the under the glass fingerprint reader? Posted: 19 Aug 2019 08:29 AM PDT Something like this, but fits and is better resolution. [link] [comments]
Downgrade from android pie to last oreo (OP 3T) Posted: 19 Aug 2019 08:10 AM PDT Hello everyone, i'm trying to downgrade (rollback) from pie to oreo on my friend's oneplus 3t, because after the update, the phone became slow as hell and too much laggy. Can i do it without root, and if so, where can i find the last oreo fw for the 3T european 64GB? Thanks! [link] [comments]
A charging AUX dongle for the 7 pro? Posted: 19 Aug 2019 09:37 AM PDT Does anybody know of any good dongle that has a good DAC chip and also supports warp charging? [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Aug 2019 08:57 PM PDT As title suggests, I'm upgrading after 4 years and 3 months! I did a search, albeit not too in depth about someone else with a similar experience. Anything I should look forward to, good or bad? Also any cool games/applications to take advantage of the newer specs I've yet to ever use? I'm excited for this! It's due to be here next week sometime and I'm just as giddy as when I was waiting for my op2 all those years ago. Cheers! [link] [comments]
Prime Video HD, Zoom and HDR not working on 6T Posted: 19 Aug 2019 06:57 AM PDT Hi, I'm trying to watch a TV show on Prime Video, it's available in 4K HDR but the maximum bitrate i can choose to stream it's 0.54GB/h and it's definitely not HDR, also the zoom button doesn't change nothing, I'm pretty disappointed, anyone has the same problem? Posted: 19 Aug 2019 04:17 AM PDT Hi this might be a weird post but i am planning to try something new. I owened a 6,6T and now 7pro. I usually manage to give away to my siblings or sell them so that i can reuse the money to buy a new one. My sister wants my op7pro and i am planning to give her this as a gift .this could be my chance to try out a new phone. The main reason i am loving the op7pro is cause of the 90hz screen and Oxygen os. ( I literally can't seem to like any other Android skin) Can pixel 4 give similar experience (stock)? I also have ASUS rog 2 in my mind. Just think the phone is an overkill but i kinda like it. I game a lot and it might just be one more gaming device for me lol Also i always have the option to change it back with my sister incase i dont like pixel experience, she don't really care 😅 [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Aug 2019 05:10 AM PDT So out of no where my phone has been randomly shutting down and the only way to turn it back on is to hold the power button and up on the volume button. Anyone know a fix for this? [link] [comments] |
