ChessCraft is a chess variant sandbox with a custom built AI. The latest update has human versus human play and ranged attackers.

    Posted: 12 Aug 2019 07:09 AM PDT

(edit) Here it is on the Play Store.

I just released an update to my dream hobby project, ChessCraft. The full, ad-free version is free to play on Android.

Two people can now play against each other on one device! There is also a new archer piece which acts like a bishop, but it does not move to capture pieces. You can also create your own ranged attackers that move and capture however you like. For more info about version 1.2 see the recent newsletter.

You can learn more about ChessCraft on the website, or by signing up to the newsletter.

Let me know if you have any thoughts, feedback, or questions!

    Thanks

So what is the next 'big thing' to come out on Android/IOS?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2019 02:56 PM PDT

I think like a lot of people it seems mobile games are more fun when you get in on the ground floor of the next big thing and play until the whales take over and progress becomes virtually impossible. Early Summoner Wars, Puzzle and Dragons, Gumball Dungeon, Gem of Wars, etc. are all games I enjoyed the hell out of until I realized there was no way to stay in the top 100 without spending money.

So what big things are on the horizon that you're looking forward to that might actually be the 'next big thing'?

"Papers, Please" needs to be an Android game!

    Posted: 12 Aug 2019 08:04 PM PDT

    [REQUEST]

I love Papers, Please; but I am not playing anymore with mouse and keyboard, I am playing with a controller and is very uncomfortable.

I just don't like playing games sitting in front my PC anymore. I am a lazy fatass that prefers to play games resting on my bed and playing on the TV with a HDMI cable.

This game is perfect for Android. The interface would be so easy to navigate with touch controls.

It's a great game. Great story and message.

I'll pay good money for it.

So, this game shouldn't run on any Android device? Why is it in the Play Store?

The fifth and final chapter for Agent A finally has a release date - Aug 29th

[REQUEST] Looking for a textbased multiplayer rpg

    Posted: 12 Aug 2019 12:43 PM PDT

    As the title tells im looking for a textbased rpg game with the following traits;

    • multiplayer (battling others, bossing together, guilds etc .)

    • textbased (Or partly, just not interested in any mmorpg WoW like visuals)

    • economy (Being able to trade items over an auction house)

    • active and idle progression (If possible)

Not sure if there is a game like this but ive been searching a lot, without success, hope you guys know of any.

I know there are a lot of discord bot rpgs like this but the typing just gets annoying to me

What are some good android emulators?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2019 12:34 PM PDT

Hello. This question was probably asked a million times before, but what's a good android emulator? Tried Memu and it got stuck at 59%. Heard Nox does some sketchy stuff. Heard Bluestacks is riddled with ads. Any other ones? Thanks in advance.

Looking for a game with self progression but where you can also play with friends :)

    Posted: 12 Aug 2019 04:26 PM PDT

Hey guys, I looking for a game to play with my friends, something that is easy to pick up and you can play from time to time, but also engaging enough no make you want to play for a while.

Preferably something a bit tactical, like Almost A Hero, but not necessarily.

With a mechanic where you can play with friends, like a raid or a party, or even a heavy co-op mechanic.

    Thanks a lot!

Controllers on android. What am I doing wrong?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2019 03:48 PM PDT

In general, I've had bad experience with controllers and android. I love android and definitely believe in it as a usable gaming setup. I have the galaxy s9+.

I bought a little mount for my xbox one controller to attach my phone. Works fine, plugged in, for Emulators. Games that are native android seem to mistake triggers for right stick. Both GTA and Minecraft work fine doing everything until you hit the left or right stick. Once you do, one trigger starts changing the x speed of the camera and the other changes the y.

Previously, I used the Switch Pro controller, and casted to my TV. That gave me about half a second of lag between the press and the phone, then another between the phone and TV. I have a USB C HDMI cable, but that wouldn't solve the other half of the lag. And I couldn't then attach my controller because I only have 1 port on my phone.

How do you guys do it? Do you use another screen? Ideally, I could bluetooth with minimal lag (preferably imperceptible at 30fps), then have the option to either mount up to my phone and charge, or plug into a TV and sit back.

Does anyone know of a nice looking launcher that mimics the look of a games console? I've looked on the web but can't see to find anything.
