Nokia 7 Plus stock camera app connecting to Facebook servers Posted: 29 Mar 2019 04:24 PM PDT Yesterday while checking my AdGuard logs, I realized that my stock camera app had tried to connect to Facebook servers out of the blue. I haven't used facebook, opened my camera or anything like that. That seemed a bit strange. Today I realized that every single time I take a photo or open up the camera, the camera app tries to connect to Facebook not only once but twice. Facebook wasn't used at all at this time and this happened every single time the camera was opened or a photo was taken. Isn't this a huge privacy issue? Why would a stock camera app on an Android One phone need to reach out to Facebook servers? Doesn't seem too good, atleast not after the another Nokia privacy incident a while ago. I sent a question about this to Nokia but haven't reveived a response yet. EDIT: Tried to replicate one more time, getting even better with as much as FIVE connections to Facebook on app opening. Posted: 29 Mar 2019 02:10 PM PDT I read this tip somewhere online and I've been doing it ever since. Don't get me wrong, I wish Messages for web was more reliable. It should let you login with your Google account so that it's always online, but until then this is a great tip to keep the connection going. [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Mar 2019 01:55 PM PDT Everyone always talks about the big core scores, but phones are usually running on these little cores. The A55 is 2 years old at this point and obviously in dire need of an update. On SPEC2006, it's barely more efficient than an A76. This seems to be a far more important issue than the perf discrepancy between Apple and ARM big cores. At least those are similar efficiency wise. Smart Launcher 5.2 is already available on Play Store. Any feedback (critics included) would be appreciated! [link] [comments]

Why not actual album structure in Google photos? Posted: 29 Mar 2019 02:05 PM PDT Wouldn't it be nice if there was actual album of photos instead just referencing photos to an album? Right now there is no easy way to find photos not included in an album. Imagine if you want to categorize backed up photos of the last month. You have screenshots, meme you downloaded, some photos of really important documents, and photos you took in the dinner outings. You create following albums to organize them "meme", "important doc", "outings" "screenshots". You organize some of the photos in to albums. After a few days you organize the rest but can you remember the exact photos you organized previously? Wouldn't it be nice if photos really organized in to albums and photos tab to be all photos in a timeline? [link] [comments]
