Do you think the Mi A2 Lite will feel like an upgrade coming from a Redmi 3 Pro?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 09:35 PM PDT

Title. A month ago I ordered an a2 lite which I haven't yet recieved and now I got a redmi 3 pro (was my mom's but she got another one) and I was wondering if I would actually see a difference between the two in terms of every day use.

    What do you think?

    Thanks!

Trying to apply for unlocking. Getting this screen instead.

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 04:13 PM PDT

    Hello everyone.

I have the redmi note 4. I'm trying to install LineageOS on it, following this official guide: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/mido/install

I'm visiting http://en.miui.com/unlock/ And after entering my username and password, I get redirected to this page:

    https://imgur.com/LaudweN.jpg

It seems to be like a forums page. But I'm not sure.

Does anyone have an idea on what to do next?

    Thanks a lot!

Mi Mix 2 - shockingly bad in-game performance

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 04:06 PM PDT

Hello everyone. Where do I even start...

Alright, this post is about "The Room" series - my favorite game series for touchscreen devices.

I've played through all of "The Room" games on my iPod Touch 6G (device from 2015 with 1GB of RAM) already. The first two games run flawlessly on it - ideal smooth action without any stuttering or microstuttering.

Today, I've decided to play them on my newly bought brand-new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 (got it just yesterday). Just as a reminder: it was released in 2017, has 6 gigs of RAM, Snapdragon 835 and Adreno 540. All the logic in the world suggests that it should eat the first two games of "The Room" series for breakfast, right?

    Well... NO :(

"The Room" stutters like holy hell. Moving camera feels choppy and what not. Improvement from enabling game booster is barely noticeable... and we're talking about a game from 2013!

"The Room Two" (from 2014) - surprisingly enough - runs a bit better, but still shows some god-awful framerate drops pretty much all the time...

Now I'm wondering if I should even buy the remaining two games, considering for how big of a disappointment I'm probably in.

Anyone has any idea as to what may be the cause?

Oh and also, before I did anything with my phone I installed the latest stable version of xiaomi.eu ROM, which is supposed to enchance phone's performance...

    WELL THEN

Similar Phones to Xiaomi Mi A2Lite?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 01:32 PM PDT

I recently bought an Mi a2 lite only to discover it wasn't compatible with verizon. Does anyone know of any phones similar to the a2 lite that would work on the verizon network? I really liked the Mi a2s style and affordability.

Camera Low-light Test (Samsung Store): Pocophone F1 (Stock and Gcam Mod) vs Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, Note 9, and Vivo V11.

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 12:55 AM PDT

Got plenty of time to kill at the mall today, went to the Samsung store, and they have a cylinder where you put your phone and test it's camera low light performance. I decided to test my Pocophone (both on MIUI/stock and MGC's Gcam mod) and compare it with a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, Note 9, and a Vivo V11. I didn't change a setting on all. I simply pressed the shutter button.

Best bang for buck premium earphones?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 10:05 AM PDT

I already own the xiaomi fresh earphones, although they are good, I seek more premium sound. I do not mind paying a higher price but I'm trying to make my money's worth. Considering the Xiaomi Mi Noise Cancelling Earphones (non USB c) but also looking at their mid tier like the In ear pro HD and the in ear pro 2.

If anyone has any advice please reply!!!

Xiaomi router 3 with padavan, entware not working on restart or power failure

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 05:11 PM PDT

hello, so i got this problem after restarting or power failure happen. when i ssh, i'm getting this message when i typing opkg.

    /opt/home/admin # opkg -sh: opkg: Input/output error

i don't know where is the source of the problem. my temporary solution that i found myself is to turn off entware -> reboot -> delete all files and folder under opt on my ext hdd -> turn on entware again -> reboot. it solve the problem until a power failure or restart happen again. are there any better solution than this? because my neighbourhood usually have power failure and i can't do it everytime it's happen

Does warranty differ if you buy a Xiaomi/Poco phone from abroad (aliexpress etc) compared to if you buy it in your country?

Im in the UK and about to buy a Pocophone and wondering if the warranty differs if you buy it from Aliexpress compared to buying it in your country, since it seems Xiaomi is going to launch in UK soon.

    Recommended Xiaomi store in Delhi?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 09:16 AM PDT

Which Xiaomi store do you recommend in Delhi? I tried to google it but there's just too many places and it looks like they could range from flagship store to small repair-/service place ... and I can't really tell just by looking at their description.

I was hoping to be able to get a first hand impression of the Redmi 6, the Redmi Y2 and the Mi A2 and maybe also have a look at some accessories (eg. cases for a Mi 6 and Mi 8, headphones, powerbanks etc. would be perfect) -- so I'm basically looking for a larger store with a broader selection from the Xiaomi portfolio.

Being able to buy Roborock S50 spare parts (brush and filter) would be a plus but I don't know if they have those in a regular Xiaomi store in India.

    Any recommendations are much appreciated!

Miui 8.9.20 - Google Photos Pixel Phone

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 12:03 PM PDT

    Hello.

I've been using Miui EU since i bought my Redmi 5 Plus.

Recently installed 8.9.20, did a clean install (system/data/cache)

Since then my Google Photos detects my phone as Pixel. And i can't change the resolution of the uploaded photo.

Contacted the miui eu team and they asked me if i'm using magisk and a modded google camera but no, no magisk or gcam installed.

    Anyone got anything similar?

Note 5 pro or Mi A2 lite?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 04:55 AM PDT

I plan on buying two phones, same model.

I know the Note 5 pro is slightly better processor wise, and I've heard that it is better camera wise? But the only thing I can see is that the front camera is 20MP and the rear camera looks about the same. Fast charging is there too but from a review I saw the difference in charging times is negligible.

Another thing is im not completely sure if I will be bale to get the Note 5 Pro where i live, but if I can and its the same price should I go for it? If the price is higher I will be sticking with the Mi A2 lite although its night time camera results look terrible.

    About custom ROMs on WHYRED

    Posted: 02 Oct 2018 10:18 AM PDT

I just have to wait a couple of hours now before I can finally unlock my bootloader, but I was wondering if it's really worth in my case, like... I don't see what would be the benefits of exchanging MIUI for a ROM that is still in development with tons of bugs and non-working features as I use my phone for a lot of things and can't picture myself asking for devs to fix basic stuff.

Is there some ROM (preferably close to stock) worth doing the job? Maybe Lineage? I would love to hear from you guys.
