I still have a nexus 5 and aside from not getting updates, so tons of things no longer work as they should, it would be fine. I'm not looking current flagship so I've thought about getting a couple generation Samsung. I don't want to be in the same position next year though. How long do they usually keep phones updated? I've considered some of the Motorola phones but the website says not all features will work with at&t. I'm around a $400 budget [link] [comments]  |
| Wondering what to do if I Brick my Nextbit Robin Posted: 24 Dec 2017 04:41 PM PST Hi, I'm fifteen (probably not worth mentioning), and I'm getting the Nextbit Robin tomorrow on Christmas. Like I've done on my current phone (Moto G3) and my brother's tablet, I'm going to install LineageOS when I get it. The software on the Nextbit Robin is an aesthetic abomination in my opinion. The launcher sucks, the notification shade sucks, and the battery life apparently sucks as well, but the processor isn't bad. I've done a ton of research on this device, and it's fairly easy to install a custom ROM onto it. But this is an expensive gift (for my family at least), so I don't want to ruin it, especially the second I get it. My parents won't be able to replace it, and there's no warranty as of July earlier this year. So let's assume the worst case scenario. Say the USB connection drops when I'm either unlocking the bootloader or flashing TWRP. What would I do to fix it? Or, say the device is just plainly bricked, and I can't do anything with it. I thought I had a permanently pressed power button, but it turns out the switch is broke and just keeps rebooting the device. I have an old S2 as a backup phone, but I just realized it doesn't even have a SIM card. Will Sprint let me revert back to an S2 or is it too old now? Also my phone is encrypted for work purposes. Can Sprint still retrieve phone numbers and other data? [link] [comments]  |

Normally I browse from the Song menu to hear the most recent music I downloaded. But since transferring over my songs from one sd card to the other, the app is ordering the songs out of place. what should look like this, in the app looks like this How do I fix this? Thank you. When I send someone a text containing an image, and I open the image, it shows my Google account's name above the image. If I open an image in a text from a contact, I see the name I've assigned to that contact above the image. Do contacts just see my phone number, or the name they've assigned to me, or does Google use my account info to fill that in for others? I like to keep my personal Google account separate from family or colleagues, so this concerns me. [link] [comments]  |

| Help - Nexus 5x crashed and won't turn on. Posted: 24 Dec 2017 06:37 PM PST I was just using my Nexus 5x, and viewing Snapchat stories, and then all of a sudden the phone froze. I waited a few seconds and nothing happened, so i turned it off. Now, it is stuck in a bootloop, and nothing is happening. The phone ran fine until this point, and was running the latest version of Android, not rooted or anything. Does anyone have any idea on any ways to fix it? The problem is the way the headset is designed the phone has to be fully inserted into the device for it to be plugged in, therefore I cannot press the ok button to get rid of the notification. I am unable to do anything. I can get about 1/8th of the screen out but tapping on the screen is not making the notification disappear either [link] [comments]  |

I have a Verizon Samsung s8+ that I use on my Sprint account. I can make and receive calls and text messages, but browsing using chrome, google play store, and picture messaging does not work. The people at Sprint are little to no help, however I know this has to prob be from their side or a setting in my phone. Any help is appreciated. Let me know what I can post to help you troubleshoot. Before I used to get like 2-5% drain over night. But now it seems like it's constantly draining. https://i.imgur.com/wVtPTdS.png It saids doze is working but going from 50% to 25% isn't exacting dozing. I've wiped the cache. The beauty of Android is that every icon can have it's own unique shape. I got the circular icons for the Google apps a while ago, but I partly bandaged it with icon packs. I just installed Shuttle for the first time in a while and this https://i.imgur.com/g1J8NBz.jpg is what it looks like. The shuttle icon is beautiful, but this is just hideous. I was very surprised since I remembered the pretty bad reviews it received. I realise now that I also deleted their number. If I have backed up my chats will I be able to retrieve a chat from March? Or is there another way to get retrieve a number?
