Transfered photos n videos now out of order Posted: 29 May 2022 06:20 AM PDT I tried transferring all my photos and videos to my SD card but now all my photos are out of order. When I go to the photos section it's normal but when I swipe over to albums and (all) they show very out of order. Anyway to fix it? Would use the photo section but some stuff doesn't appear on that section I'm pretty sure. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Unable to restore contacts saved on Google account Posted: 29 May 2022 08:14 AM PDT I just helped my dad reset his Oppo A73 5G phone, because the phone was constantly vibrating for no reason. I restored the backup with his apps etc, but I could not restore his contacts that are stored on his Google account for some reason. It keeps saying "currently unable to retrieve contacts to recover". He has around 100 contacts stored there. Does anyone know what could be the issue here? Or maybe any idea what I could try? Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Trying to unlock bootloader to my Motorola phone. Running into an error (x-post from r/Motorola) Posted: 29 May 2022 07:26 AM PDT Hi, I'm trying to unlock the bootloader to my Moto G 5G Plus/Motorola One 5G (codename: nairo). I followed the steps to get an OEM unlock code from Motorola's website. I got an email with the 20-character unlock code, but when I do fastboot oem unlock I get "(bootloader) Code Validation Failure" with no further explanation. The unlock code in question was just AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, which struck me as odd and is probably a glitch of some kind. Has anyone else had this issue and are there any fixes or alternate methods to unlock the bootloader? [link] [comments] |
is my phone hacked or is it just something else. Posted: 29 May 2022 07:24 AM PDT Hello everyone. I open up outlook to confirm email id of my new linkedin profile, when I clicked the button to confirm my email it redirected me to linkedin's website wherein I was told enter my linkedin password but there was already a password there in the password section automatically . When I tried to unhide the password it my was old password characters along with some random persons name in that password which I don't remember to have ever used. I was using a mi browser... . The thing to note is it only happened in mi browser and when I tried with different browser like chrome, edge and brave it was not... [link] [comments] |

Installed an update on my relatively new Samsung A71, immediately regretted everything Posted: 28 May 2022 07:43 PM PDT I'll preface by saying that I am something of a technological laymen, and by no means can I be considered tech-savvy, as I struggle to operate and device more complex than an abacus. So this may have just been me accidently screwing something up while fiddling with my phone's settings, but nonetheless I've decided to hold an *emergency meeting* with the more technologically enlightened minds of Reddit to *vent* my frustrations about this new update, and hopefully find a resolution to these issues. Sometime in late May, my phone began giving me notifications demanding that I install Google's latest deluge of digital sewage that they churn out to Android OS users on a semi-regular basis. Being perfectly fine with my phone as it was, having meticulously tuned it to my exact preferences, I declined---or, I tried to, except Google doesn't give me the option to decline their updates, merely delay them. Like a dementia-ridden vacuum cleaner salesman, google would attempt to peddle their wares to me every 24 hours, in spite of my adamant and increasingly furious refusal. Eventually, I decided I would bite the bullet and install the update, only to find that, in one final act of some digital approximation of spite, my phone had already begun installing the update without me so much as touching it whatsoever that day. However, I didn't particularly mind. After all, it's just a software update; what could possibly go wrong? The moment I powered my phone back on and went to resume my daily cycle of 1-2 hours of mindless doomscrolling, I sensed a . . . disturbance in the force. Whenever I scrolled to the bottom of a page, it would stretch and jiggle, as though my screen had been turned into fucking Jell-O, a supremely irritating "feature" that I have, as of yet, been unable to remedy. As time wore on, the issues became increasingly apparent. When I entered my recent apps page, I noticed that the four icons on the bottom of the page did not correlate with any recently used apps, as they did prior to the update. Rather, the "hotbar" (idk what it's actually called. As stated before, I am a smoothbrained technological philistine) always displays a random arrangement of Calculator, Files, Clock, Contacts, Calendar, and Gallery. In search of a solution, I ventured to YouTube, hoping to find a video tutorial that could help me resolve any of these issues, I was greeted by a solid second of blank gray screen with a non-interactable blue refresh symbol in the center before my YouTube feed loaded. This issue was not resolved by updating the app. Rather, the issue persisted across ALL apps, where certain pages would take a split second or longer extra to load compared to before the update, displaying a blank screen with a blue refresh symbol for zero fucking reason whatsoever. A cursory search yielded no helpful results, other than a quick and easy 24 step guide on how to uninstall the latest update. These are but a select few of the issues I have encountered in the days after installing this latest shit-circus of a pointless "update," and any help resolving them, especially the loading screen refresh symbol, would be greatly appreciated. (Inb4 a computer sciences major dissects this entire post, roasts me, then explains why I'm a drooling, gormless, single-celled knuckle-dragging buffoon who should have never defiled a touchscreen with my technologically challenged troglodyte hands in the first place.) Posted: 29 May 2022 06:51 AM PDT Is there a way to use unsupported apps on certain versions of Android? I ask because I have an old Android tablet running KitKat, I want to turn it into a media centre but a good majority of apps no longer support Android 4.4.2 from the Google Play Store. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Help! Clicked on a dodgy link in Gmail Posted: 29 May 2022 06:46 AM PDT I did something stupid and clicked a dodgy link in Gmail (app) instead of the bin button. Weirdly it took me through to what looked like the Google homepage. I promptly closed it, deleted all history and cookies etc, used bitdefender to perform a malware scan. Doesn't look like it downloaded anything... Also bitdefenders web protection didn't catch anything I already use 2fa on my Google account Anything else I can do? [link] [comments] |

Some apps show error "Couldn't install" while updating apps from Play Store. Posted: 28 May 2022 11:32 PM PDT Hi everyone, ever since play Store overhauled its design which I think happened around one year ago some apps like Torr Droid, Facebook unable to update themselves when I hit update all button. It shows could not install when I hit retry button, the app disappears from update list. Posted: 29 May 2022 02:36 AM PDT I've been experiencing difficulties when it comes to connecting any sort of USB device to my Poco X3 Pro (MIUI 12.5.9). This used to work 2-3 months ago, but it has stopped since. I've tried to connect it to my computer using various cables and different ports and it still wouldn't recognise it. (The USB notification doesn't pop up). It charges just fine. I also tried connecting a keyboard to it. The keyboard lit up, but didn't want to work (This worked for other phones). I've ran out of ideas on what to do. USB Debugging is also enabled. I also have the latest drivers installed. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 May 2022 05:16 PM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy s10 and im currently experiencing an issue where I get constant drop down menu notifications as well bubble chats and full screen pop ups of either partial nude images or a message such as "Your android is corrupted! Fix your system urgently!" and I have no idea how to remove whatever is causing this. I Tried downloading an app called Antivirus - Cleaner + VPN . When I run the scan nothing comes back for a virus or anything pertaining to my problem. Does anybody have knowledge on this problem who can help? [link] [comments] |
