How do I get the Assistant to 'ding' when I say "Hey Google"? Posted: 26 May 2022 11:27 AM PDT I upgraded from a Samsung S8 to the Pixel 6 Pro running Android 12. With the Samsung, if I said, "Hey Google," it would make a ding sound so I knew it heard me. Sometimes I'd say, "Hey Google" and I wouldn't hear the sound, so I knew the Assistant wasn't listening. But with the 6 Pro, I don't get the ding. I have to look at the screen to see if it's in listening mode, which seems a little odd. For example, if I'm laying in bed and I remember that I need to do something tomorrow, I used to be able to say "Hey Google," hear the ding, then make the note. Now I have to look at the screen, which is annoying if I've found that super comfortable position (because we all know you can't find that again once you've moved). Is there a setting for me to get that ding back? Or some kind of audible acknowledgement that the Assistant is listening [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 May 2022 03:35 PM PDT Okay. So, I was trying to get a hold of someone and whenever I called the (we both have galaxy z flip phones) it would immediately say "call ended" no matter how many times I tried to call, but when I called them with my son's galaxy A01 it went right through. They said any time they called my phone it went straight to voice-mail. Did they have my number blocked? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 May 2022 09:01 PM PDT I've recently have been low on storage so I deleted a lot of apps and images/videos but it still shows that I am super high in storage it says I have 18.36GB of videos but when I check my videos it says I only have 65.83MB anyone know what to do? [link] [comments] |
Gallery photos and cloud storage Posted: 26 May 2022 08:17 PM PDT Some months ago I decided to upload all my photos to the cloud to free up space but now I have a harder time finding photos that I want because they are no longer on different folders and sorting by date doesn't help neither, it has become a chore to find pictures, even photos I have taken myself, now the majority of pictures I want to share/share regularly are mixed with a lot of other stuff and I really need a fix to this, any help? Voicemail not working after I moved all of my files to SD card? Can't find it to bring it back. Posted: 26 May 2022 08:01 PM PDT I recently got an SD card to clear space in my phone and I'm pretty sure I transferred everything I could over to it. But now whenever I check my voicemail it's like it's at factory settings, telling me to enter a mailbox number (which I don't know/or remember setting up in the first place) my provider is Telus and I have a Samsung s9 plus. I'd love to be able to hear my voicemails, I've been getting so many calls but can't listen to them [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to block my just facebook feed from appearing? Posted: 26 May 2022 07:36 PM PDT MacOS and Android Is there a way to block just my facebook feed, but still being able to access other parts like marketplace. I can't delete it because I need marketplace, but facebook feed is fucking with my brain and I can't help it when I'm bored. [link] [comments] |
Can't update apps on oldish phone Posted: 26 May 2022 07:11 PM PDT I have a OnePlus 5T I just turned on for the first time since September 2021, running Android 10/ OxygenOS 10.0.1 (the latest version for the 5T). My main Google account is logged in and Play Store shows my uninstalled apps, but it doesn't show a list of my installed apps, and gives me "Error checking for updates" when I try to check for updates. I already tried removing my Google account from the device and signing in again, but I still get the same problem. Chrome asks for an update, but then I get a message from Play Store saying "Authentication is required. You need to sign in to your Google account." I can get my emails, see all my stored passwords, and otherwise access my Google account. I'm even able to install any apps on my account that aren't on my phone just fine. It's just the current apps that aren't showing up or updating. Is there anything I can do short of resetting the phone? [link] [comments] |
Unable make/recieve calls when VoLTE is on, but can still use data and messaging. Posted: 26 May 2022 03:18 PM PDT OnePlus Nord N10 5G which I purchased directly from OnePlus almost exactly a year ago. Android Version 11 Metro PCS In the United States. Incoming calls go directly to my voice mail and if I try make an outgoing call I immediately get the error "Mobile network not available." My wife who has a second line with me has a Pixel 5 with no issues. I can still text and get speeds as I'd except from 5g, about 20 Megabits per second. Under Enhanced Communications, if I turn off VoLTE I see my signal switch from 5G to either 3g or H+. Wifi Calling and Roaming don't seem to affect any of this. Cell data is set to Mobile data and Preferred network type is set to automatic 2g/3g/4g/5g. So far I've tried reseating my sim card, clearing caches, rebooting phone. I've also tried calling MetroPCS who reset my network connection. I can only seem to find vaguely similar forums on other sites with a similar issue. Only thing I can think of doing now is factory reset and if that's a no go then I guess it's time for a new phone? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 May 2022 06:17 PM PDT Ok, SO here's what I'm trying to do and why: I am trying to use my phone apps on my computer, just because it makes multitasking easier and less distracting then having to pick my phone up every time I turn around. So I want to clone my phone (Samsung Galaxy s22 AV:12) or log into an emulator with my apps so that I can still do my programming and graphics design work; all while being able to respond to messages on my various apps. Some like Facebook and Skype already have apps built for windows. Has anyone done this already? Am I asking too much of my technology? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Use mic on bluetooth headset for google assistant and voice to text when texting. Posted: 26 May 2022 06:06 PM PDT Sometimes I'm in noisy environments and want the mic on my head to pick up what I'm saying and not the phone. Can I make this happen? S22+, voice to text with gboard, and google assistant. Headsets are galaxy buds 2, and Aftershokz aeropex. Thanks [link] [comments] |
LG Stylo 3+ have vCard file on phone, when import contacts get msg: importing contacts stopped Posted: 26 May 2022 05:58 PM PDT WTF. Why? Contacts has permissions, this phone supposedly supports vcf files, and finds it when I invoke the import...it then tells me all contacts may not be imported, followed by the msg: importing contacts stopped. Running Android 7. Have set transfer type both ways, doesn't seem to make a diff. Thanks in advance for your help. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 May 2022 03:31 PM PDT I have a 2017 GMC Terrain. It has a USB multimedia port, though I'm not sure what exactly can use it for. It has no car play or android auto built in. I saw this video on YouTube, and am unsure if this kind of solution could work for me. I'm also unsure on how or where to get one of these. Any help is appreciated! https://youtu.be/CRXMPAA2LMW [link] [comments] |

Charging issue with Samsung S20 FE Posted: 26 May 2022 02:06 PM PDT When I plug in my phone, it gives a normal charge time, somewhere around an hour and a half or so. Shortly thereafter, it jumps up to 5 and a half to 7 hours. I've tried blowing air into the charging port, and brushing it out. Any idea what it might be? [link] [comments] |
Loud, high-pitched screeching noise whenever I try to play sound from media speaker Posted: 26 May 2022 02:05 PM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy A22, bought new about 6 months ago. Since yesterday, whenever I try to play any sound not from a call (alarm, any app etc.), a loud high-pitched screeching sound plays instead. This happens even when the volume is set to off. I've tried: - restarting the phone - Cleaning out the speaker with a toothpick Sorry for not having much information, but if there's anything else needed or shows up I'll add it. Thanks in advance! Phone keeps turning on and off Posted: 26 May 2022 06:51 AM PDT ***SOLVED!*** Hello I have Xiaomi Poco x3 NFCI need urgent help as I have a major issues - phone keeps turning on and off and I can't do anything to stop it! Phone turns on - shows yellow POCO logo, then turns off after 2 seconds. So I can't even get in the menu. I also already tried fastbooting (volume down + power button). It manages to show me the Fastboot screen for a second, but then the phone still resets before it can show me anything else. This is why I wish I had older phones, where you can at least take the battery out. Edit: I actually managed to get into the main screen 2 times (not fastboot screen) and phone started acting crazy, as if I kept clicking the power button. Edit 2: Okay I don't know how, but now it's fixed after wiping the screen with a special tissue for cleaning monitors??? So weird. I suppose I'll leave this here for if anyone else gets this type of a problem. [link] [comments] |
"ADaPtClient-3.38.4.apk-##.Part" keeps downloading by itself, should this be happening? Posted: 26 May 2022 12:47 PM PDT Its downloaded several dozen files, and the ## is a number between 1 and 31. Wouldn't let me cancel the download either. Should I be concerned? If so what do I do? I have a Galaxy s8 running android version 9. I do have Norton antivirus installed and it didn't pick up anything [link] [comments] |
How to automate turning on hotspot in cat without tasker? Posted: 26 May 2022 12:46 PM PDT I been trying to find a way to enable my hotspot in my car for my dashcam. Tried a routine but assistant can't enable hotspot. Tasker cost money and I just don't have money. I tried another app that does when Bluetooth turns on but this is unreliable because my car will only sinc to my phone once or twice and quits working. I will have to go through complicated setup each time with my car giving me a new code and then I have to name the device with voice prompts from my phone. So this doesn't work. My idea was a routine to say let's go. This then sets volume to max so I can actually hear Google. Then open driving mode and enable hotspot was going to be the first task. Disable wifi is another task I was going to add since I can't connect to home or another persons wifi while driving. Haven't found a free way to control my phone yet. [link] [comments] |
Can i downgrade security patch? Posted: 26 May 2022 12:31 PM PDT I got the last update for my Galaxy A70 which is the worst update so far. Need to charge the phone like 3 times a day and it drains so fast 5h max (the battery was lasting much longer the day before installing this update so i'm sure the battery itself is in good condition). So i was wondering if i can downgrade to the last stable firmware. And is it safe? Because i dont wanna brick my phone [link] [comments] |
