Posted: 05 Mar 2022 01:34 AM PST My laptop (A571GT) has a internal hard disk slot. Not sure about the cable names but I have a samsung t5 ssd (usb c) is there a adapter which allows the ssd to connect to the motherboard of the laptop? I usually keep games inside the ssd and everytime I disconnect the ssd the game doesn't detected. [link] [comments]
Surface Slim Pen 2 or Surface Pen? Posted: 05 Mar 2022 01:23 AM PST Not sure if this is best place to ask (better suggestions comment below :] ). But I just got myself a surface book and wondering which out of the 2 would be the best option. So far I can see that the only difference is one needs batteries and one is chargeable. I draw a lot and Your opinions are valued if there's any other differences I'm missing out. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to fix cracked plastic near laptop ports? And missing laptop feets Posted: 04 Mar 2022 11:24 PM PST As of how this happened, I still don't know why the plastic near my hdmi port could crack. I haven't even used it but it's cracked And some feets are missing (I had to do laptop upgrade and screws were beneath the feet, and then I misplaces them) Is there a way to fix these 2 problems? is there a laptop that is has at least 120hz, flex compatibility, and a pen? Posted: 04 Mar 2022 11:08 PM PST also would prefer that it doesn't stand out a huge ton, I would prefer like something that looks similar to everyday laptops you see people use in cafes. [link] [comments]
Review site with benchmarks in AC and battery mode Posted: 04 Mar 2022 09:52 PM PST With the various talks that AMD is lowering the CPU frequency and SSD on battery, and that it can't be disabled, and also having myself a Dell XPS 13 (9300) which is almost twice as slow on battery, I would love a website that tests the performance of common laptops on both AC and battery, to get a grasp on the compromise we have to make if we intend to use them mostly on battery. Currently I need an external battery connected in USB-C to use my Dell to its true performance. And even with that extra 400 grams, the battery life with the advertised performance will be 6 hours or so. I want to avoid any laptop that does this. [link] [comments]

Why I think the new ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has the potential to be one of the best laptops this year Posted: 04 Mar 2022 08:31 PM PST Over the past few months, I have been tirelessly researching laptops to get one for college. My needs are specific, and I have decided to go with the choice of selling my desktop to buy a gaming laptop. Now you can argue with me on this decision, but it doesn't matter, because it has led me to do a lot of research on gaming laptops. And I have come to the conclusion that the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is probably one of the best laptops to come out in the next few months. First, it has the new 12th gen intel cpus. What makes this special is that it has (supposedly) the best of both worlds: performance AND battery life, thanks to the hybrid stuff. It also has a max wattage 3060 GPU in it. With these two facts, it is a solid mid-range gaming laptop. Especially for the price, which is right now 1500 USD on newegg. https://www.newegg.com/mecha-gray-asus-tuf-gaming-f15-fx507zm-es74/p/N82E16834236099 It also hasn't released yet, which I'll get back to. It's got 16gb of swappable ram, 1tb of swappable ssd + another m.2 slot, the model I posted has a 300hz display with supposedly 100% sRGB. It also has things like Thunderbolt 4 with 100W power delivery, MUX switch, a webcam this year, and most importantly, a 90WH battery. Now here's the kicker. The pre-order date got changed today, from today to March 18. The amazon listing says it will ship May 1. So, I will have to wait. What will also have to wait are the reviews, or at least the American ones. There has been a chinese review that gives some info on things like heat and battery life. The channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8Fxu7g6xSNTgDW_PnGDwrw) who tested the chinese version says the thermals were mostly fine (apparently last year's models were not fine), a little hot, but it got very loud, in the 50db range on turbo. For me, I don't really care how loud it gets as long as it's silent when I'm taking notes in silent mode. He was getting close to 8 hours on battery when doing non-gaming stuff, which is perfect for what I'm looking for. Almost all laptops in this price range fall short in one or more of the things I've talked about, whether that be low wattage GPU, cooling, screen, upgradability, or battery. I must admit that the wifi card in this laptop is probably going to be garbage. That is the only thing that I am somewhat concerned about, but at least you can replace it. The display, while fast, is not the best with colors either, but it still passes in my book. It's also a bit large and heavy, but not too bad. If you've made it this far, please feel free to discuss any things I've said. Also feel free to suggest any other laptops you think worthy to my suggestion. TLDR: The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 ticks basically all the boxes and will probably do more than any other laptop for 1500 USD. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Mar 2022 06:37 PM PST So I dont know much about used laptops but I've been looking at the ones you can switch into tablet mode and thought it would be a lot easier for me to write notes on since im a uni student and I could just write with the pen on the lecture slides. These type of laptops seem super expensive new but I just saw a used Microsoft Surface Pro 6 with keyboard and pen on facebook marketplace for $600 CAD(471USD). I messaged him and he said its still fast, he took really good care of it, approximately 2 years old, and just got a new one since samsung and easy to connect his phone. I currently have a HP laptop (ryzen 3 2200U) but its big for carrying around, about 3 years old, and battery dies super quickly so I was thinking I could get a new laptop instead of replacing the battery. Id love a second opinion on someone who knows a lot more than me and if this is a good deal. [link] [comments] |
