How to delete files you forgot about? Posted: 08 Mar 2022 03:21 AM PST Linus Tech Tips recommended Windirstat and they said that it helps you delete files that you forgot about but they didn't really explain how in that video. The only thing special I see about Windirstat is the color thing on the bottom. I want to know the files that I actually forgot about instead of showing how space is divided in my storage with colors. Is there something like an app that sorts all your files according to the last time it was accessed or modified while warning you whether or not the files you are about to delete are important for Windows or other apps that you usually use (like Nvidia)? Free and No Watermark Video Editing Windows App Required Posted: 08 Mar 2022 03:25 AM PST Hi, I am planning to create a 5-10 mins video. This video will be a combination of a couple of small video clips. I want to join them as one video and also add background music. I am looking for a simple windows app or online app which is free and don't have any watermarks. Kindly suggest to me if anything is available like this. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Mar 2022 12:52 AM PST Recently started using our gaming PC, running Windows, for work instead of the MacBook Pro I've been on for years. Is there a secret setting somewhere to make window scrolling not shitty? The mac feels very natural and tactile, with super high sensitivity and momentum - just like touch on an iPad I guess. On windows, with any number of mice I've tried, tiny scrolls often don't get registered… sometimes they do, but it'll tend to scroll line by line instead of pixel by pixel. Big scrolls work but offer nothing in terms of momentum or natural feel. Apps often behave differently as well. I know it's a little thing, but it drives me up the wall. Is there a secret "scroll by pixel instead of lines" setting somewhere? TIA [link] [comments]

Advanced folder/file renaming and other actions. Posted: 07 Mar 2022 10:42 PM PST Hello. I'm looking for software that will provide some advanced actions on folders and files. The exact thing I need it to do is: - rename files inside folders to that folder's name and add "_1" "_2" "_3" to their names, - remove the above folders and leave the files in the general folder that the removed ones were in, - preferably the ability to do it en masse while having different amounts of files in these folders I could do it with a macro recorder, but the different amount of files in each folder screws it up. Cheers [link] [comments]
Going back to Windows after 20 years on Mac. I know NOTHING. Posted: 07 Mar 2022 02:02 PM PST I've been a dedicated Mac user since 2004, but I have become increasingly frustrated with Apple over the years (especially the sheer size of MacOS and iTunes), and decided to switch back. I'm looking at a Windows 11 laptop. I am starting from scratch; I'll be importing a HUGE picture library, and hopefully, transferring over all of my music (about 30GB) and a couple documents. I'll be using it for general web browsing, watching streaming stuff when I am on the move, general office type stuff and some light video and photo editing. How do I:
Is LibreOffice still a thing? I don't game but I used to be an avid Sims player. On Windows 11, can I play all my old Sims games? Thanks [link] [comments]

Windows 11 File Explorer keeps crashing Posted: 07 Mar 2022 01:33 PM PST Hello, whenever I try to open a folder with a lot of .mkv files (around 10-12) file explorer stops responding and eventually crashes. Does anyone know why or how to fix this? My specs are i7-11700f, 32 gigs of ram, 3070, and the drive is currently an hdd. (It never did this before on this drive though). [link] [comments]

I can't see the cursor on my third monitor. Posted: 07 Mar 2022 12:38 PM PST I can't see the cursor on my right monitor. It started to happen when I connected a third monitor. I can right click, still close stuff but it's invisible. Idk how to fix it. Btw the new monitor is fine its an old one that suddenly doesn't show a cursor. [link] [comments]
Has chrome abandoned the PC and focused on android? Posted: 07 Mar 2022 02:57 PM PST Chrome for windows has been broken for several years now; despite numerous 'updates', and reinstalls, it doesn't offer to save passwords reliably, and there's no way to manually save a websiite with it's password; I've tried every solution I can find, and none work, and many 'solutions' suggest things that don't exist in the chrome interface, so those folks don't know what they're doing, either. In addition, neither firefox nor opera can correctly import the bookmarks, they all get lumped into a separate folder instead of being placed in the bookmarks bars. Even when I reinstall the OS from scratch, all of these problems remain. I'm wondering if anyone here works for Google and can provide an insight to whether the code writing dept is currently filled with mentally challenged folks now? I'm willing to go to any website that offers a solution and try it. IF you have done it yourself, and it worked. I've been directed to websites that people have suggested which don't have a valid solution many times. It's just getting old, and it seems that now, Google has gotten as lame as Microsoft in fixing it's software. [link] [comments]
