"Hey google" functionality SUPER unreliable when the phone screen is off Posted: 02 Mar 2022 08:49 AM PST I have been having issues for years with "Hey Google" functionality not responding to my voice. The issue isn't with the voice model at all, it just utterly does not respond to 'hey google' commands sometimes when my phone screen is off and the phone's been idling for a bit. This is ESPECIALLY egregious behavior when I'm driving and trying to do something like change music without having to look at my phone. I can say 'hey google' fifty times with no response. The second I dig out and unlock my phone and say 'hey google' while the screen is on, however, it fires right up. The app is set to NEVER sleep etc, I've come to my wit's end with this...anyone else seeing the same or know what's going on here?? [link] [comments] |
I can't paste links anywhere anymore. Posted: 02 Mar 2022 01:18 PM PST I can't paste links to websites in my Yahoo and gmail messages, nor in website comment boxes, nor on Facebook. It only works if I opena notepad app and copy and paste my text with links. This is very strange. [link] [comments] |
Should I use a 5W charger instead of the stock 33W one? Posted: 02 Mar 2022 01:13 PM PST Title pretty much says all, I want to avoid reducing the life of my new Poco X3 Pro's battery I saw that I'd take like 3 hours to charge the phone with the 5W charger, does all that time charging the phone ruin the battery too? (Making the charger change useless) [link] [comments] |
Delayed/repeated notifications on my phone and watch Posted: 02 Mar 2022 03:17 AM PST For around a year, my Note20 Ultra and Watch3 worked fine in regards to notifications. A month or two ago, I started getting notifications in multiple buggy ways:
I have no idea where to even begin with this. I thought maybe it was glitchy software and my new phone/watch would fix this, but the same thing is happening with the S22 Ultra and the Watch4. Is there some setting that changed that I don't know about? Neither of them have any updates or patches pending, and I'm not using any fancy software or rooted or anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Notification edge lighting style color won't stay changed Posted: 02 Mar 2022 12:51 PM PST Hello, I have an S20 plus. This feature worked fine until a few days ago, the only thing that has changed to my knowledge was a recently security update. I keep changing the option to purple, where I've kept it since getting the phone over a year ago, but after 5 minutes or so, it will turn back to default blue. Anyone else experiencing this, or have any idea how I might fix it? This is under - Settings > Notifications > Brief pop-up settings > Edge lighting style > Color Any insight would be appreciated. Posted: 02 Mar 2022 12:39 PM PST Which would be better ? I'm in France and I can buy the s21 Ultra "Used" (bought in January 2022) for 650 euros (12gb and 512go) or the Mi 11 Ultra for 790 brand new. I like the Mi 11 ultra for its 3 main cameras and the super fast charge. And I've heard that the S21 ultra isn't that great in low light or indoor. I currently have a OnePlus 5T and wanted to buy a OP9 Pro but the frequency bands aren't exactly compatible. I need a phone that i can use for the next 4-5 years. [link] [comments] |
BetterBatteryStats "fallback to since boot" message? Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:58 AM PST I just gave BBS the necessary permissions via ADB command prompt, namely the DUMP, BATTERY_STATS and PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS. Once I was done I was able to get into the app. The only problem is I can't see anything happening in any metric other than Alarms and. CPU states. After closure of the app and reopening, it gives me a "fallback to since boot" message. Clicking on the 3 dots in the top corner and going to "graphs" they are empty, and going to "raw stats" gives me the message: "BatteryService Info could not be contacted". Is there a way to fix this error? I am using an unrooted LG K92. TIA! [link] [comments] |

Outgoing voicemail is stating my name? Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:42 AM PST Hi! Was fixing a voicemail issue on a relative's phone when I realized that apparently, when I make a call that ends up going to voicemail, the voicemail is using a recording of my name to identify. In other words, the person receiving the voicemail is hearing a recording of my name instead of my phone number, and I don't know when or how I set this up or how to disable it. Not a fan of it, however. I'm on Verizon, and my phone is a 2020 Moto Stylus. Thanks for any help! [link] [comments] |
Archiving/saving text history from my ancient Android phone. Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:36 AM PST Hi! I am in the process of decommissioning my 2015 Motorola phone, which currently has no storage space on it to download apps (as a result of a corruption of my SD card a few years ago). It is slow, falling apart, and generally terrible, but I kept it until this past year because I am not really a smartphone person. I would like to archive/save my texting history. Is there a way to do this without downloading an app of some sort? I've done a lot of Googling and have seen SMS Backup and Restore (and other options), but am hoping that there's something that won't require me to put a new SD card in and generally deal with the phone's feeble performance for longer than I have to. Thanks a bunch! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:26 AM PST I recently switched from an iPhone to an Android (TCLA30). I am having the major problem of my clock alarm not ringing. It will "alert" me sometimes, with no sound. I have checked the settings/notifications/sounds settings and all point to the notification/ringer working. The strangest part is that when I open the clock app, the alarm will say "Ring in -1 hour" or however long its been since the alarm was SUPPOSED to go off. I also tried downloading a different alarm clock app, and again the alarm didn't go. [link] [comments] |
Battery usage on a brand new Galaxy Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:12 AM PST Is it correct to say that on its first couple of days, a brand new Galaxy S22 will consume a bit more battery life until its done "Learing Usage Patterns"? I'm using a new S22 Ultra and all reviews talked about 6-7~ hours of Screen on Time and I'm getting a lot less, and if I remember correctly, I think I had a similar behavior on my previous Galaxy S20 device. My Samsung a12 is having what I to believe a screen issue Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:11 AM PST Previous to yesterday the screen on the phone would just go black, and most of the time pushing the power button twice turned it back on and it worked fine. Occasionally it would do turn black and it wouldn't respond to the button, I would have to smack the screen side of the upper half of the phone Yesterday I had to shut it down and when I turned it on the screen didn't turn on at all. No amount of kinetic readjustment, or spamming of the power button helped. Then that evening I did look online for wich connections went to what on the phone so I opened it and looked to see if it was just something that had come undone some how. And everything to my inexperienced eye seemed fine on that front I have confirmed the fact that the phone Is powered on because my alarm went off this morning and I had no way to turn it off just snooze it by pressing the power button. My question A) what would have caused this, and is there a way to fix it with out replacing the screen The reason I say with out replacing the screen is I would like to be able to use the phone ASAP and if possible I don't want to wait on the screen. As well as given what I paid for the phone paying a repair company to replace it would be a bit silly B)if the screen is dead, if I got the same model of phone from the same provider (total wireless if that matters) is it possible to take the hard drive from the old one and put it in the new one The reason I ask this is there are some photos and as silly as I fell saying a few games and apps that either I can't back up or foolishly figured I would do it later that I would like to hold on to if possible. Thank you for any thing you may be able to help with I do appreciate it [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Mar 2022 11:09 AM PST The current version of carrier services shows RCS status in Messages constant 'Connecting.' Uninstalling latest update will connect. Anyone else facing same issue? [link] [comments] |

Is there any way to screencast one phone to another? Posted: 02 Mar 2022 10:11 AM PST I just bought a new Galaxy S22 and was planning on selling my older S10. But I also need some kind of monitor when recording build videos for Youtube, so I might as well use my old S10 for that. Problem is that I can't figure out how to do it, or even if it's possible? I'm basically trying to screen cast my S22 to the S10 while shooting video so I can see what's in frame. Since the S22 is above my head on a camera mount, I can't really see any of the screen. Is this possible to do? [link] [comments] |
Video issues on Reddit/Youtube and other sites/apps Posted: 02 Mar 2022 09:24 AM PST I'm having a strange issue with my OnePlus Nord 2, where videos just stop playing, i can't click the play button on reddit and just won't play unless i either restart me phone or use CCleaner to free up some RAM(ccleaner fix only works for like 5videos or so, then the error happens again, same with restarting) YouTube vids will get stuck at the ads, with a black screen, or when it does work, the video will freeze but the audio will continue until in rewind the video. The software is up to date, so I'm not sure what exactly is causing this problem, but it's quite frustrating. Any tips would be highly appreciated :) [link] [comments] |

Volume stays lowered after notifications Posted: 02 Mar 2022 09:13 AM PST For some reason my volume stays lowered after I get notifications. It fixes itself after getting another one but how do I make it so it doesn't stay lowered at all? I have the galaxy s10 I believe. [link] [comments] |
my Bluetooth keeps highjacking my partners airpods. Posted: 02 Mar 2022 08:25 AM PST So. My partner has some airpods. I used them once a long time ago. I had no idea my phone kept highjacking her connection. But I happen to notice. It asking for her confirmation but it interrupts her music and stuff. Unlike all other Bluetooth devices. There is no option to remove it from my phone.. Any advice ? Google isnt helping much without watching a YouTube video. In which I need her headphones. Since I can't listen to a video. Here I am. Lol. Complicated. I just can't listen to a video. For abit. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Mar 2022 08:14 AM PST My camera works fairly well in 1:1 ratio, but when I try to record in 9:16 the outcome is unexplainablly weird. It's like being recorded under water? Having bubbles? I don't know how to describe it, but the frame shakes horribly by any slight movement or when I change the angle. It doesn't have the problem when I record a video using WhatsApp or any other messengers. If you know how I can fix the problem, please let me know. I need it for my business and I'm so frustrated. Thx [link] [comments] |
Reliability of Samsung nowadays Posted: 02 Mar 2022 08:09 AM PST Back in the day I used to own a S3 and after that a Note 4 but I have always seen Samsung phones getting slower, more laggy and just turn bad after about 2 years. I have always had the opinion that this was happening because of bad update management from Samsung and because new phones were releasing. How is Samsung right now with this problem. Do any people with (older than 1.5 year old phones) still experience this? Since my Note 4, i've had a Oneplus 6 and it has been wonderfull but after 4 years, oneplus too is getting worser at fixen bad software so I am done with this brand as well. Would love to hear about your experiences 😁 [link] [comments] |
I do not have Guest mode on my LG G8 Thinq with Android 11 Posted: 02 Mar 2022 07:59 AM PST I have searched everywhere on the internet and they give basically the same details, however, I do not have the guest mode on my phone. Is it possible certain apps could make guest mode go away? I want to be able to create another profile that my kids and do whatever they want with and it wont reflect on my profile. I tried adding another google account, but it doesn't actually change anything other than I am not logged into a different email... [link] [comments] |
Android OS is taking up half my storage space Posted: 02 Mar 2022 07:58 AM PST I've always had this issue with phones where the operating system takes up at least a quarter of my space but with my Pixel 4 it's taking up at least half of my 64g internal storage. What's causing this (outside of planned obselesnece) and how can I make some space? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Mar 2022 07:44 AM PST Hi, I have a Galaxy A52s 5G, I was wondering if removing Knox via ADB is safe? Will it trigger something/void my warranty? I'm not using Knox, and I can't think of a situation where I would need to use it. I have already removed many other unnecessary system apps from my device using ADB, but I haven't touched Knox yet. I still do not understand how knox helps me and why it is a good idea to have it installed. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
