Could you help me with uploading videos to Instagram from an android device?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 11:18 PM PST

Hello, so I'm really into social media - especially instagram. I started to work a few month ago as a social media specialist, but I'm facing this issue on any android phone I use. When I try to upload any video to my story/as a reel it's just kind of laggy, choppy and the overall quality is just terrible. I use Samsung A52 which has 4K video on wide, ultra-wide and selfie camera, so I tried to record in this compared to 1080p - just to try if the quality improves... No, it didn't.

Please, is there any way how to make my android videos look good on instagram? Some export settings or anything that might just help - I'd be really grateful!

P.S.: I know it's not recommended to use instagram app for recording, so I use my camera app and then upload the video from camera roll.

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 05:50 AM PST

    good day,

I enabled Browser notification for Reddit website because it's the only way I can know if I received a pm message (not available for 3rd party Reddit apps), I noticed notification arrive instantly unlike my app (Boost for Reddit) which takes some time, is this a general thing on all apps or is it my setting?

Is there a way to wirelessly access the android file system from Windows?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 05:01 AM PST

My camera folder on my phone has over 3000 photos.

Long story short I want to be able to wirelessly view my camera folder "/Internal Storage/DCIM/Camera" in File Explorer within Windows and be able to move the photos I take there to an appropriate folder e.g. Google Drive.

I'm not a fan of Google Photos, it just doesn't. Its okay for personal photos but for work I need to be able to move photos into project folders which are currently being stored in Google Drive.

Any suggestions to achieve the above would be much appreciated? :)

Is there an app that will just keep a certain website open in the background?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 11:47 PM PST

I have a Todo list that is only on the web. I added it to my home screen as a shortcut but everytime I click it, it opens up a new tab and takes like 4 seconds to load.

I'm stuck with the Todo list website but would be cool if anyone knows a trick that'll keep it open and ready for use.

Can/Should I use a 3rd party USB cable for unlocking the Bootloader or installing custom ROMs etc?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 03:27 AM PST

Using a Redmi Note 7 Pro and I've never installed a custom ROM before. Now I want to install one. Specifically Descendant OS. I also need to unlock the Bootloader first and install TWRP (or Orange Fox). The problem is that the original data/charging cable I had, the one came with the phone, broke a few weeks ago. I had to buy a cheap 3rd party USB-C cable.

Now to unlock the Bootloader and to proceed further I can do one of 3 things.

    1. Use this cheap cable.
    2. Borrow my friend's USB-C cable. He uses a Redmi Note 8 Pro. Different model but at least it's from the same company.
    3. Buy a new original Xiaomi data cable specifically for this one job even though I already purchased a cable recently which does it's job (charging) normally.

Sorry if it isn't the right sub or flair

What else do I need to do before a factory reset? I'm gonna sell my old phone today.

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 05:36 PM PST

I've been using my new phone for 4 months now, I have all my email accounts logged in here, and I've manually downloaded the apps I wanted to get transferred, such as Steam, authenticators, games, social media. I've a reasonable amount of my sentimental photos and videos from my old Vivo V9 stored in my Google account. Today I removed my Google accounts in > Accounts & Sync, I'm ready to factory reset it. I also have my primary email's password for the FRP. But I wanted to make sure if I missed any other steps. What do you do before doing a factory reset? Before you sell your old phone?

    google photos shared album

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 02:04 AM PST

    Hello,

we were on a vacation and I made a shared google photos album. Now some of my friends want to delete the photos from their Google photos app/phones. Will the photos stay in my album? If not, how can I transfer these photos to my account? Basically I want them to upload their photos to my album so they can delete their photos and I will keep them forever.

Thank you for any insight on this.

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 01:01 AM PST

A few months ago I was able to fix the screen to vertical mode, but when I needed to change orientation i just rotated the screen and a little button appeared near the home buttons, I clicked it and it changed screen orientation. I haven't used this feature for some time, and now when I try to do the same the little button doesn't shows up.. the sensor is working because if I set the automatic rotation it correctly rotate the screen when the phone is horizontal.. what can be happened? I'm using Android 10

    Thanks in advance!

OnePlus Nord 2 CE delivered with a fully discharged battery

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 12:42 AM PST

Received a brand new OnePlus Nord 2 CE that had a completely flat battery. I though this was a bit unusual as I had read in many places about not storing a phone with a depleted battery. The phone will charge to 100% but I'm not overly impressed with the battery performance. It came from Amazon and they've agreed to take it back and issue a full refund. Was I too hasty? Would the battery have been damaged?

Oppo vs Vivo vs Xiaomi vs Samsung vs Xperia

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 12:31 AM PST

I have a Oppo Find X3 Neo. I was satisified with the phone but am getting frustated by the lack of communication from Oppo in the late and unequal rolling out of ColorOs 12. Considering switching to Xiaomi or Vivo. If not, going back to Samsung or Xperia. What do you think of Vivo and Xiaomi updates to Android 12 ? Is their respective OS good ? How has evolved Xperia in the last years on their premium models ?

Android kept showing greyed out SD card apps and now it's saying it's corrupt?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 10:52 PM PST

For the past few days randomly Android was showing greyed out SD card apps, wouldn't let me see my gallery photos on my SD card, wouldn't let me go on any app that I had on my SD card. I tried restarting it, I tried clearing cache on many apps, I tried a few tips online then I recently decided to just take out the SD card and put it back in thinking maybe it popped out a little. But now it's saying corrupt SD card...I don't have a way to connect my SD card to my PC right now so is there anyway to fix this? Thanks.

I have samsung s8 and I never dropped my phone once, I never put it near water, never put it near dirt. It's clean looks like new even though it's a few years old, etc. Nothing could have damaged it. I also don't install too much I used the SD card for my gallery so all my photos I took are on there and a few apps that I have important documents on and one game I was playing. It did do this once before with it turning grey but then a few hours later all my icons and gallery came back, this time it did not. It's been greyed out for a few days so I have been patiently waiting for it to come back but it hasn't, that's when I took it out and popped it back in with clean hands and everything to see it now says corrupt SD but all my greyed icons are still there so my SD card still has my data so it must be a glitch, I don't know how to fix this.

Is it possible to disable or delay "App is not responding" messages?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 10:47 PM PST

My phone constantly reports a myriad of different apps as not responding. Often I get this message 2-3 times in a minute, or once in 10, while the screen is active. I'm assuming this is based on some of timer. Is there a way to increase the amount of time the phone will wait for background apps so I don't have to constantly deal with this message?

Huawei phones being modified using SP flash tool.

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 10:37 PM PST

I was wondering if Huawei Phones can be flashed by SP flash Tool. They can be, right?

Then what's the purpose of unlocking the bootloader? (which is not possible right now)

I can just patch the boot.img with magisk and patch it using SP flash tool

Is flashing using SP flash tool even possible??

Is it possible to get Bubbles with Facebook Messenger?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 09:21 PM PST

I know a year or so ago, people say that Facebook messenger started using bubbles by Google but now it doesn't show that option for me, it only shows the chat head option. I don't want 2 bubbles flying around my screen when Google's implementation is already perfect by combining conversations across many apps, so is it possible to get that Bubbles option back for Messenger? On a Galaxy S21 Android 12

My Only Issue with the Android Experience

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 08:50 PM PST

Why is it almost impossible to find the photo you want to share from Google Photos to social media apps? You can make folders or favorite things as much as you'd like but Instagram won't begin to let you build a post outside their app. Even the Google Pixel's native backgrounds app doesn't have a way for you to pick from your favorite photos album (I know you can do it from the Google photos app but still). Why is it like this? I love Android and Google Photos and my Pixel takes bomb pictures but I gotta say it's frustrating making social media posts and trying to make sure you're getting the correctly edited/cropped pictures from the tiny little thumbnails. Meanwhile my girlfriend on her iPhone just makes an album called "post" and is done in 10 minutes. Thoughts?

Does your smartphone flashlight remain on during shutdown?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 07:50 PM PST

It appears that some older Android versions would keep the torch on until shutdown is finished. Or could it be vendor-dependent?
