| Looking for a game that has a good size playerbase (RPGs if possible) Posted: 02 Apr 2022 12:47 AM PDT I really like a lot of games, particularly turn-based RPGs like Exos heroes, Kings Raid etc. But the biggest turn-off for me is when there's a pretty much dead playerbase. I join the discord servers or check out the reddit and there's like 1 active guy who still replies/chats. Pretty much everyone else there is dead. Looking for some suggestions! [link] [comments] | ||

I'm looking for an MMO that focuses on "teamwork", that encourages playing together and in which the guilds, alliances or whatever are a fundamental aspect of the game. | 5 Quick Tl;Dr Android Game Reviews / Recommendations (Episode 212) Posted: 01 Apr 2022 04:44 AM PDT Happy Friday, everyone! :) Here are my latest weekly tl;dr game recommendations based on the most interesting games I played and that were covered on MiniReview this week. Let's get to the games:DragonSpear-EX [Game Size: 645 MB] ($4.99)Genre: RPG / Action / Side-scrolling - Online + Offline Playable Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Full tl;dr review by NimbleThor: DragonSpear-EX is an offline-playable 2D side-scrolling action RPG with fluid combat, online co-op raid bosses, and no energy systems, ads, or iAPs. The core gameplay is split into chapters of eight levels and a boss fight. During these levels, enemies storm us from all sides while we move around and use normal attacks to charge up mana for over-the-top skills that deal a ton of damage. Achieving S-rank in every level of a chapter lets us access its raid boss and fight it alone or with up to three other players. These co-op raids are great fun with friends, although I have a feeling we're matched with bots if no random players are around. Equipping and upgrading loot is a big part of the game, and unlike some mobile RPGs, our gear is visually shown on our character. Furthermore, bosses provide us with materials used to add set bonuses, and if we equip multiple set bonus pieces, we unlock huge benefits, such as stun resistance. As we level up, we also unlock skills that we can customize by fusing them with runes. The combat effects and animations are great, and the rock music perfectly fits the fast-paced gameplay. Unfortunately, the characters are overly sexualized, and although the touch controls are alright, there's no controller support. The storyline isn't exactly thrilling, and the English translation is so-so. Thankfully, the gameplay and nicely paced progression help make up for that. It takes only a few days to reach cap, after which it's a bit unclear what we're supposed to do, but with six fun characters that each have unique weapons and skills, there's quite a bit of replayability. In many ways, DragonSpear-EX feels like the type of game that would be full of gacha mechanics, and their absence is honestly refreshing. In fact, after paying the $4.99 premium price, there are no additional iAPs. Playing as a ball placed inside a hollow circle, we touch the left part of the screen to roll left, and the right part to roll right. Our goal is to collect rings placed in various hard-to-reach parts of the level by using the surroundings to our advantage. Each time we collect another ring, the world expands and grows wider to reveal additional parts of the level. The obstacles stay exactly where they are, however, forcing us to reuse the same objects within the new context, which demonstrates a clever game design. The key to winning a level in the shortest possible time is to skillfully utilize the physics to gain and reduce velocity, change rolling direction at the correct moments, and effectively use our momentum to reach seemingly inaccessible places. While some players may get stuck and frustrated, most of the game's 50 levels are built as casual gameplay experiences, which is emphasized by the minimalistic visual design and relaxing music playing in the background. CircloO monetizes by occasionally showing skippable ads between levels, which can be disabled via a one-time $1.99 iAP. Despite its simplicity and the small number of levels, it will easily appeal to anyone fond of relaxing yet challenging physics-based puzzles. Before entering any of the game modes, such as battle royale or team deathmatch, we must pick one of several legends to play as. Legends are unique characters with different skills that are each useful in certain situations, and we can slowly upgrade them by using them in action. During a battle royale match, the game has us play in squads of three, skydiving into maps to fight off 20 other squads in an attempt to be the last team standing. These matches typically take 20 minutes to finish. The other game modes, on the other hand, are typically much shorter, creating a great alternative for players looking for a quick experience. As a movement shooter, Apex Legends is fairly unrivaled on mobile, and its fast-paced, fluid, and oddly satisfying movement mechanics help create a great movement and combat flow. Meanwhile, the controls are extremely tight, responsive, highly customizable, and even innovative. The art-style is well-ported from PC, with colorful maps, accurate and detailed character animations and visual effects, and a sound design that complements the graphics decently well. Legends do take a while to unlock for free, but they're all well-balanced and the game can easily be enjoyed as a free player. Heavily inspired by the famous Diablo series, it consists of exploring enemy-infested dungeons, fighting powerful monsters, collecting loot, and gaining experience to level up. The game offers dozens of hours of non-stop grinding with lots of distinct locations to visit, various regular monsters and bosses to slay, tons of equipment to wear, and an immense skill tree to master. As we progress, we can focus on one of three character-development paths to become a melee warrior, an archer, or a wizard wielding powerful spells, but these can also be combined and mixed with numerous equipment enchantments to perfectly fit any preferred play-style. We control our character using a left-side virtual joystick and execute various customizable actions with the buttons on the right. Meanwhile, loot is picked by the press of a single button, which is very convenient since there is a lot of it. Throughout our travels, we also gather ingredients used to craft potions that greatly help with survivability. Amid all the action, there is even some kind of story going on, but it never receives enough focus and is only there to guide us through the game. Unfortunately, all the levels are static instead of procedurally generated, which hurts the replayability a bit. Vengeance RPG is sold for $3.49, and, as opposed to the majority of similar mobile games, never bothers us with ads or any types of microtransactions. It's a very well-made game, especially considering that it's maintained by a single developer, and despite its insignificant flaws, it will definitely appeal to fans of the action RPG genre. Set in London's Victorian era, our objective is to guide our character, Kate, on her journey from being Dr. Jeckell's lab assistant to being a wanted criminal on the run. Stages of the game alternate between passive levels where the humorous story unfolds, and actual gameplay levels. During these adventures, we also occasionally run into the mysterious and insane Mr. Hyde and several other colorful characters that help build and expand the story. Each stage is structured as a long path that we use cards to move across while trying to land on tiles with bonuses and avoid traps. If we pass a square with an enemy on it, we move into a combat mode where we use a different selection of cards to attack and defend. Hyde and Seek uses an energy system where each stage costs one ticket to play, including the stages where all we do is read the story. Our six tickets refresh every six hours unless we pay to instantly acquire more, and they don't provide a substantial amount of gameplay time. There are also forced ads and constant reminders that we can pay for more health and coins – not to mention that all cards outside of the small basic deck take a very long time to earn through gameplay unless they're unlocked via iAPs. The game itself is quite good. The balance of story and casual gameplay is definitely enjoyable, and having a decent story attached to a card game is unusual in a good way. However, the gameplay becomes repetitive after a while unless you start spending money on it and I personally did not find it gripping enough to invest in. I've looked all over the play store but all's I find is high-end fantasy anime games which I can't run on my current device. Here's some things that I would like: • School and other locations • Customizable characters • Private servers for playing with friends without everyone else chatting and running around while trying to roleplay in peace • Roleplay functions (like being able to sit down, being able to have emotes, a time that shows the days of the week, etc.) The game doesn't have to have all these things though. I'm sure there's games like this for pc but I don't got one lol. It's hard to find a game like this, I'm still searching so I decided to ask reddit to help me! It was an RTS that was similar to warcraft\starcraft, but simplified in all the right ways. The buildings did all the resource collection, you just drop your troops and they march in intuitive ways towards the enemy base or mobs on the map. Anyone play this or remember it fondly? You had certain elements toto each monster and had to make sure they either match or were the greater half to defeat them. It was pixelated and I think you spun a wheel for the monsters. These are the ones I tried: PUBG COD mobile FRAG CriticalStrike All of them just continuously matching me against bots that aren't even shooting half the time. Even after several games I'm getting the same thing. Will I really need to play against bots for multiple hours in every mobile game before it matches me gainst players? Honestly do people really like playing this crap? Uninstalled all of them now. Can anyone recommend games where you actually play PvP straight away? [link] [comments] | ||
