How many of you prefer oneplus gestures?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 02:21 AM PST

Hello i am using the android 10 beta on op6 and i tried to seitch from the oneplus gestures to the google gestures because the op ones don't work proprely on tilted device, but the ops are far superior than the others. If they could add the gesture in full screen mode or titled device mode it would be perfect, how many of you think like me?

PSA:Use OnePlus Stock to keep track of status of stock of OnePlus 7 Pro for Black Friday

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 03:49 PM PST

I was browsing the subreddit and I found that a lot of people wanted to purchase the OnePlus 7 Pro for Black Friday. I used https://oneplusstock.net/ to get a notification on my mail when my choice of colour and storage was available in the store, and I was able to order the OnePlus 7 Pro in Blue color three days ago!

The color comes in stock for only a couple of minutes until it goes out of stock again. Happy Thanksgiving!

Need a case recommendation for OnePlus 7 pro

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 06:01 PM PST

    Requirement:

Slimmest, least bulky lightweight case that can protect against drops, which happen to me!

I currently use a Spigen Rugged Armor. Protection-wise it's great, and I've had many drops with no damage at all. I wish it added less bulk. Am I asking for too much or should I just get the Rugged Armor again? Thanks.

Sorry for the previous post, got the model/title wrong, can't edit!

What are some features you wish Oneplus would start adding/shouldn't have removed?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 07:08 AM PST

I recently switched to a OP7T after 2 years with my OP5T. I'm very happy with my OP7T but I can't help but miss several features that my OP5T doesn't.

Here are just a couple to name a few:

    1. Visual Voicemail. I had a unlocked OP5T and was able to use visual voicemail from my dialer on t-mobile. This no longer seems to work on my OP7T.

    2. Swiping between tabs on the dialer. Worked on the OP5T but not the OP7T.

    3. LED noticing light. By far the best of knowing when you have new notifications!

    4. Headphone Jack. RIP

    5. Better battery life out of the box. My 5T has better battery life out of the box than my 7T does. I know that's mostly because of the 90 Hz display and that it can be switched down to 60 Hz to improve battery but I was just hoping it would have been a little better than it is.

    6. Installing an SD card in the extra Sim card slot. So many manufacturers do this, why not OP?

OnePlus 7 battery life after Android 10 (10.0.2)

6 and half hour SOT with 45% remaining battery

After updating OnePlus 7 from 10.0.1 to 10.0.2, I have seen huge improvement in battery usage.

    What about yours?!

OP 7 Pro Android auto crashes when launched on my new aftermarket radio

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 04:58 PM PST

I just installed an Alpine ILX w650, and when i connect via any cable it starts, then a minute later closes, and won't come back up again. Even if i leave it plugged in it will just bug out whatever i'm listening to, while trying to start Android auto back up. Anyone else experience anything similar?

Burn-in on 4.5 month old phone?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 02:28 PM PST

Part of the notification bar is burned in on my OP7P that I got at the beginning of July. I thought that modern OLEDs lasted longer than this. Is this normal?

    7PRO US unlocked in Venezuela

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 06:47 PM PST

Would a US 7 Pro work in Venezuela? I'm planning on visiting family and not sure which bands I'd need for voice and data.

    Transparent folder on Oneplus launcher?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 06:01 PM PST

Is it not possible to have transparent folders or am I stupid? OP launcher is much snappier and faster overall than nova or lawnchair, going back to home screen takes like half a second less on OP, but the non transparent folder icons are irritating.

    5t cable caught on fire

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 02:05 AM PST

I'm currently deployed overseas and after 2 years of having this phone, the cable caught on fire and thankfully was able to catch it before any real damage could happen. Now I gotta wait 2 weeks just for a replacement to be sent.

What screen calibration mode do you use? Natural mode is the most accurate, but do you prefer vivid, etc?

    OnePlus 7t

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 07:15 PM PST

Does anyone notice the photos are super disappointing. I feel like my Moto z for 2015 had better pictures and my wife's 6t takes better picture. We just got back from our cruise and I'm super disappointed in the picture quality.

    Bizarre death of OP7 Pro

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 10:02 PM PST

My wife was working with an animal rescue and this little blind kitten bit the curve of the screen, in line with the finger scanner. Pierced the glass and maybe a board. Touch screen is dead, the screen below that point is dead, fingerprint scanner works but there's no point. Thankfully we opted for the phone insurance on hers so it's being replaced. Still stupidly random. Thought I'd share. https://imgur.com/nhXh8Ao.jpg https://imgur.com/ZW24OUH.jpg

Nougat-like Ambient Notifications on Oreo & Pie

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 06:15 PM PST

    Greetings!

Since Oreo was released, I noticed that these monochrome notifications that pops-up within the ambient display feature got simplified a lot. I found a decent article which explains it in a right way:

For Android 8.0, a lot has changed for this feature. Android 7.x took a very simple approach: it always displayed the normal lockscreen notification panel UI, just rendered in white-on-black style that was power saving and unobtrusive. Android 8.0 replaces that with a custom UI.

Here is even a pic with a comparison of two systems side-by-side.

The question is pretty simple - is there any solution to get back ambient display notifications with an old style? Smartphone: OnePlus 5

(canada) is oneplus 7 (regular, not 7 Pro or 7t) worth investing in or should I just wait/ pay more for a 7t?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 05:32 PM PST

found a possibly sketchy retailer, but possibly legit (Swiftronics.ca) that has a regular oneplus 7 for ~500 CAD (8GB RAM, 256GB Storage) (speaking of, i def am having trouble finding retailers in canada for oneplus, anyone else?)

(while I am on it i see that they have an mi a3 for <300 yikes might even consider that now...)

but back to my original question. for approx 300 more would i be 'future proofing' myself by getting a 7t/7t pro?

for reference im coming from a 1st gen moto Z play, so honestly seems like any of these are a massive upgrade.

Why is OnePlus 6T so cheap on Amazon?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 04:42 PM PST

I'm looking to get this phone because it offers amazing specs for its price. On Amazon, I can get one for $395 in the US! This seems too good to be true. Why is this?

Problems with my OnePlus 7 Pro(and android in general)

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 05:17 AM PST

Now don't get me wrong i think Android is a (slightly) better OS than iOS and OnePlus has by far the best Android skin. But there's a few problems I've had with my device that make the experience slightly less amazing than it could be. So in no particular order I'm gonna nitpick about:

Why is the navbar white? Don't tell me it's to prevent burn in because YouTube and Twitter have a black navbar but some apps (cough Instagram) have an ugly white navbar. It's the only reason I'm using gestures. Why can't they just make black the default

Speaking of the navbar why doesn't it go away when watching videos in Chrome. Well to be fair this isn't OnePlus fault it's Google's. But still ruins the experience

4k 60fps limited to 5 minutes. Now CPU power and RAM shouldn't be a problem the iPhone X can record 4k indefinitely. So can the S10 which has the same specs and at least in my case lesser RAM. The phone should stop recording when I'm low on storage.

Why does the back gesture work in games. Swiping from the left and the right is a common thing in games. And you almost never use the back button while playing games. Again this is more Google's fault than OnePlus but still.

I know I'm nitpicking but these are relatively small inconsistencies that can easily be fixed via software update
