Looking at picking up a S21 5G today, wondering about overheating

    Posted: 09 Nov 2021 07:18 AM PST

    Hey guys,

I am looking at upgrading to the S21 5G from my Note 8 sometime today, but started to see issues online about overheating. I read most of the overheating issues stem from using 5G and Wifi at the same time.

I am not at all a heavy user, and my provider up here in Ontario (Koodo) does not offer 5G service yet, so I figured I could disable 5G entirely.

Is this an issue I need to worry about?

Samsung's own version of 'Magic Eraser'

    Posted: 09 Nov 2021 05:44 AM PST

Samsung has their own version of Pixels Magic Eraser hiding on your Galaxy device.

When looking at a photo click on the pencil. Then click on the 3 dot / options button. Then hit labs and turn on object remover.

Works on any photo you have on your device.

    Enjoy!!

USB C to 3.5mm and charger

    Posted: 09 Nov 2021 01:29 AM PST

Hi, I have an S21+ and I want to use my 3.5mm wired earbuds with it, sometimes while I'm charging as well.

What product do you suggest I buy? I've read about some producing a crackling noise, not having fast charging capabilities, and simply not working.

    Thanks!

Is there a system like icloud for samsung?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2021 09:04 PM PST

So I recently switched from iPhone to Samsung and so did other people in my family. I am specifically hoping for something where you can switch icloud accounts to install an app that someone else already paid for then switch back and have the app now. Is there something like that on samsung like you can switch the Gmail account or something and get an app someone else has?

does it matter which charging brick i use?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2021 10:31 PM PST

Hello, I just got an S21 Ultra, and I love it, but I couldn't find any charging bricks in stock, but I have a USB-c iPhone brick (20W), will it hurt my battery in the long run or should I just keep using it?

    Also:

1-I don't care about fast charging, I even disabled it in the settings
2-Please don't say "it doesn't matter it will still last you1-2 years" money doesn't come easy for all of us, and I'm planning on using this phone for AT LEAST 3-4 years

    I.hate.samsung.keyboard

    Posted: 09 Nov 2021 08:17 AM PST

I hate that the spacebar is so small and I always press . instead of spacebar. People have been compalining for months but samsung just ignore the feedback like what the f are they thinking???

Before you come and say "why dont you switch to another keyboard". Mate, I tried other keyboards but they all lag in the middle of writing so I am only left with this garbage keyboard.

    A52 5G or ZFlip3?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2021 06:10 AM PST

I was interested in the flip just because of how unique it is, but I was reccomended the A52 and comparing specs it looks pretty good for the price. I've heard some horrible things about the Flip3's battery, and would like to know this subs opinion on which I should get.

(My current phone is an A20.)

    USB-C earphone interference (S21)

    Posted: 08 Nov 2021 09:37 PM PST

Has anybody else experienced issues with interfence when using corded, USB-C earphones? I first noticed this when I started using the Pixel earphones. Thinking it's an issue with the microphone portion interfering with something. Any input would help. Thanks! It's almost like an intermittent screech like sound.

Anyone know if/ when the note series will be re stocked?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2021 08:02 PM PST

I can't find any sources besides a customer service agent telling me the notes are being discontinued. I've been searching for a galaxy note 10 or 20 (still deciding which) but most of them available are used and I'm also searching for a specific color. Anyone know if or when the notes will be re stocked?

Developers can you implement a user controllable autobrightness?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2021 03:25 PM PST

I don't like autobrightness because it goes way to high for me to consider it safe for oled. But if I could control how bright it gets when I go outside I would use it. This post is about oled phones.

Looking for recommendations for Spotify/local music file apps!

    Posted: 08 Nov 2021 10:40 AM PST

As the title says, I was wondering if anyone had any tips/custom apks/hacks for how to best setup a Samsung device to listen to music using a combination of Spotify (streaming) and some native app (for playing local music files).

I currently use Spotify but also have a large amount of music stored as raw files on my device that I can't get on Spotify. Is there any good way/app/solution to integrate these two so I can seamlessly listen to all tracks without having to switch between apps?

Closest I can get is Samsung Music with the Spotify integration, but I can't even pin my custom playlists on the Spotify tab so it's kind of useless.

    Thanks in advance!
