Posted: 29 Nov 2021 01:07 AM PST I have a mixed wifi network and it almost always connects at 5, I can't figure out how to temporarily force 2.4 on the router level, can i force it software wise? [link] [comments] |
Can I reliably test instability when my phone gets hotter? Like a stress test? Posted: 29 Nov 2021 12:30 AM PST I seem to have encountered a problem where the phone gets unstable (e.g. System UI shutting down, everything freezing, etc etc). I have a suspicion that it happens when the phone is slightly warm even (in terms of internal heat, e.g. when charging). It makes the phone unusable, but for short periods of time. Before I RMA this: Can I test this in some way without just running a game or so - something that gives me data or logs? [link] [comments] |
Duplicate notifications on Pixel6 (after moving from 3aXL, both on Android 12) Posted: 28 Nov 2021 07:21 PM PST |
Posted: 28 Nov 2021 11:08 PM PST Basically the app must allow someone to display their phone's screen on the pc and the user using the pc can use the mouse and keyboard to interact with the apps, etc (control phone from desktop pc). Someone already mentioned "scrpry" but I don't know how to use such a thing or do such a thing because I think you have to know how to write code? I'm a basic average user... i don't know how to write code, etc [link] [comments] |

Choosing a folder for online download Posted: 29 Nov 2021 02:38 AM PST Is there any way for me to choose a folder for my download like on Windows? I'm using a Samsung. Recently I've downloaded a lot of books online and I want to redirect those downloads to a chosen folder, not the phone default download folder. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2021 10:46 PM PST I bought my mum a tablet and use WhatsApp so when I am speaking to her on the phone she can read what I am saying. She sometimes accidentally touches the screen and I need to be able to control it remotely is there an app that can run in the background where I can do this? It would need to be one where she doesn't need to activate it. [link] [comments] |
Will this nintendo switch dock work on my andriod? Posted: 29 Nov 2021 01:52 AM PST |
Posted: 28 Nov 2021 11:28 PM PST I already posted this but I don't know why I can't find what I posted now. Someone mentioned/recommended "scrpry" but I don't actually understand what it is or how to use it or if I'd be able to understand how to use it. I'm a basic/average user... I don't know how to write code. Does anyone know of an app that I can DL on my smartphone that allows me to control and use my smartphone screen from the windows desktop pc (smartphone screen is displayed on the pc and the smartphone can be controlled/used by using the mouse and keyboard to interact with the apps as they are displayed on the desktop screen, etc... BUT DOESN'T require a DL to be made on the PC (like the AirDroid Cast app)? [link] [comments] |
Possible security risk from leaving install unknown apps option on? Posted: 28 Nov 2021 10:05 PM PST About 3 years ago, I installed a trusted apk through Google Chrome. I turned on the option for both Google Chrome and My Files to install unknown apps, but did not turn the options off after installing the apk. I only realized my mistake recently and immediately turned the options off. Q1: Considering I did not turn off the option for unknown apps to be installed, is it possible for any unwanted apps to automatically install through Google Chrome without user confirmation? Q2: How big of a security risk is leaving the option on for over 3 years? Should I do a factory reset? Edit: To add on, I frequently do app scans using Play Protect and it always reports no harmful apps found [link] [comments] |
Is there a custom rom for Nubia N1 NX541J? Posted: 28 Nov 2021 09:52 PM PST Hi, I've been looking for a while for a custom rom for this phone and yet can't find one (that is legit and working). I would be really thankful if someone would help me find one or just tell me that there is not one (or is not worth installing). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2021 08:10 PM PST I currently have a Pixel XL, looking for a replacement. I've been browsing Swappa but I think I need to wait a year or two until something comes down to my price range....unless you all have a suggestion. Need: 5G unlocked, 256GB, 12GB RAM. I was thinking of the Pixel 8Pro but I saw it isn't capable of handling 5G on Verizon. Maybe a Pixel 6? Anything else I should look at? I like to use custom ROMs, root, Nova launcher, etc so I need something flexible. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2021 07:17 PM PST Hello, here's my problem. I have an iPhone and my partner has a Xiaomi Redmi 9. She loses her phone six to ten times a day, and she always keeps it on vibrate or even fully muted, so sometimes we'll spend more than I'd like to admit looking for the phone. I would love if there was an app that we could both have on our phones so when she loses hers I can ping it from mine and find it from the sound. It is very important that it makes an audible sound even if the phone is in silent/vibrate mode. Is this even a thing? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Galaxy S21+ not vibrating for notifications Posted: 28 Nov 2021 03:28 PM PST I've had it for about 4 months and it's not vibrating for text ect. I am using Google messenger, checked in the app notifications and it is set to allow vibrate. Phone is set to vibrate, Che k the vibrate motor and its working. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and nothing. The screen lights up but no vibrate. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2021 10:16 AM PST Just upgraded from S7 edge to S20 FE 5g. When I press the overview button I would much prefer to see my list of open apps displayed horizontaly as opposed to the individual, vertical design. Is there a way to change this? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2021 06:51 PM PST My phone had updated yesterday and there are a lot of changes that I don't like. First it updated a few apps I had downgraded, even though I had "Don't Auto-Update" turned on. I downgraded the apps to avoid the problems the newer versions cause. But now my phone won't let me fix it. Plus system emojis and other stuff started looking wonky (I know it sounds stupid to mention this but I like things looking a certain way. It's just how my brain is wired). The phone I'm using is now Android 11. I'm wondering if I get a phone that's Android 9 or 10, would that make a difference? Please, this has been bothering me for two days now and my brain can't function properly. [link] [comments] |
Is there any way to retrieve wiped data? Posted: 28 Nov 2021 06:50 PM PST I accidentally completely wiped my Samsung Internet data, removing my (literal) hundreds of bookmarks in folders within folders within folders. Is there any way to retrieve them or are they gone forever? This is in Secret Mode: the bookmarks in standard browser were recovered. I use SM all the time for memory purposes. [link] [comments] |
Draw on my phone with pen pressure? Posted: 28 Nov 2021 12:23 PM PST Moto G Stylus 2020, android 11, verizon. I am an artist and I want to find a pen to use on my phone that can register pen pressure (native stylus doesn't have it but I knew that) Research is difficult because results keep being for android tablets, or for using the phone as a tablet connected to a computer. I want a pen and app that I can carry with me into the woods and take out the pen and draw with pen pressure. Suggestions for where/how to look would be helpful as well. [link] [comments] |
When I try to open a link, it opens Marvel Future Revolution instead Posted: 28 Nov 2021 06:17 PM PST Whenever I try to open a link in outlook, it automatically opens Marvel Future Revolution. It doesn't even give me a list of what to pen it with, like Chrome, Edge, etc. It just automatically opens the game. If I open a link in another app, like Gmail or Google (not sure why I can't open things in the Google app itself anymore either), it lists the apps I can open it with, but also lists Future Revolution. It's been doing this since at least the 2nd most recent system update, and I have no idea why. [link] [comments] |
LG G8 ThinQ "Camera keeps stopping" error with new screen Posted: 28 Nov 2021 06:42 AM PST I recently broke the screen on my LG G8 ThinQ and got a new one installed yesterday. The only issue with it is that my system camera app will not launch and gives the error "Camera keeps stopping" as soon as it's launched. However with Snapchat, Facebook messenger, etc the camera will open and function normally. I've tried rebooting my phone, disabling all permissions and reenabling for both my system camera app and Snapchat, cleared camera cache and data, rebooting my phone in safe mode and the camera still will not launch. I know it isn't a hardware issue, and would like to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible. Thank you in advance to any commenters that can help. Edit to add: This is an unlocked phone, but my carrier is AT&T [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Nov 2021 02:13 PM PST Hello there,I'm having problems with the pre installed files manager in android 9 (The apps name is just "Files",it's not the "Files by Google" app),everytime I want to upload an image to an app (like Pixellab or Background Eraser) the app opens but when I choose the image or another option it just freezes and then stops. Is the short lived but beautiful era of 6Ah+ (6000mAh) mega battery android phones over? Posted: 28 Nov 2021 04:23 AM PST I was looking for a new phone, (preferably not Chinese), and I noticed that the trend of having 6-7Ah on a phone (Samsung M series, Moto G40/60 etc) that popped up last year seems to have gone, and I feel this is a bad thing. I like the ability to use the phone for 2 days between charges. For a lot of people who travel / hike / ride a fair bit, a long battery life is such a boon. Besides it reduces the number of discharge cycles in a year, thereby extending the phone's life, thus delaying the planned obsolescence. Unfortunately, it seems that future generations of these phones (Samsung M51 -> M52) are now getting smaller batteries (5Ah and below). Youtubers don't seem to care at all. In fact in most videos they seem glad with the tradeoff that the phone is slimmer now. Just wondering, is there anyone else here who shares my thoughts? And if yes, any idea how we could make our voice heard? [link] [comments] |
I've never seen this kind of app but i really need one Posted: 28 Nov 2021 02:00 PM PST Is there any app that will change the phone's system so that if i want to reboot or power off my phone(even tho it's screen locked),my phone will ask for lock screen password or finger unlock and without giving the password or finger unlock,no one would be able to power off my phone?? Google assistant Gboard voice typing port to older pixels Posted: 28 Nov 2021 01:44 PM PST Recently the magic eraser was ported to older Google devices running android 12, so I was wondering if the advanced voice typing features from the pixel 6 in Gboard could be ported as well? Phone's Google Play System update is still stuck on August Posted: 28 Nov 2021 01:36 PM PST So my Galaxy S20 FE 5G is still stuck on August and no new version has dropped yet for me. Early last week an update did drop and installed it but its still stuck in the August update. Note I am not talking about the phone's security patch I'm talking about Google Play System's update still being stuck on August. I've tried rebooting and clearing cache in recovery mode but the issue is still there. Has anyone had an issues like this before and what did you do to resolve it? Thanks in advance.
