- Installed official windows 11 its been running for a couple of hours but then this happened cant enter windows explorer cant use windows key but apps other than windows apps open
- Hey y'all.I bought this laptop like 2-3 months ago.I used it 1-2 times for like ten minutes.The last time I saw that the screen had a black foggy circle at the middle bottom of the screen.Is there anything I can do to fix it?

| Posted: 03 Sep 2021 12:45 PM PDT I just got a new laptop the other week. When I go into the battery management settings thee are some things that don't seem right. If I slide the setting over to "best battery life" it says it has less battery than if I slide it over to "best performance". How can I fix this? Is this something I should send the laptop back, for?? And also, I know I can't fix this, but the icons on the hot keys for dimming and making the display brighter seem to be reversed (the filled in "sun" dims the screen while the unfilled, dark "sun" brightens the display) [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 03 Sep 2021 12:34 PM PDT Hey everyone! I just bought a used Asus ROG Strix Gl503v, and it has some issues that I wanted to see if anyone may have a solution for. First thing I noticed when booting it up is that one of the fans makes a grinding noise and comes on and off. The fan will stay off for a while, try to spin, causing that grinding noise, and become stationary again. Other fan seems to be completely fine, so not sure what the issue is here. Other problem that I'm having is with my mouse. The touchpad on the laptop is totally fine, absolutely no issues. When I plug in my mouse, though, which works totally fine on my PC, it has not only a lot of latency, but will occasionally continue drifting in the direction it was going, pulling it towards the edge of the screen. This makes it near impossible to do ANYTHING with the mouse. Mouse is a Razer Basilisk Hyperspeed if that matters. Any common fixes or do I need to bite the bullet and go to a shop? | Should college students get the Surface Laptop Go? Posted: 03 Sep 2021 03:47 AM PDT Fall is upon us. The taliban took over Afghanistan, students are paying overpriced tuition for zoom, and the delta variant is right at our doorsteps. More importantly, students are paying overpriced tuition for zoom. After watching every laptop review i could find on YouTube and budgeting whatever's left of my fafsa this semester, it's time to focus on what really matters... should college students buy the Surface Laptop Go in 2021? Obviously I'll be avoiding the 4gigs of ram and 64 ssd spec like the plague. However I'm still iffy about 8gigs, especially when it comes to Chrome. Also there's that mediocre 148ppi screen. But at 12.4 inches, would it really be noticable? Now let's talk about pros. We have a fingerprint reader on the power button, a touch screen display (no pen support tho), and a nice quiet keyboard. Although boasts about its 13hr battery life is yet to be tested. Tbh I just need a laptop for college. I need something portable for moving around campus, a nice keyboard for typing essays, and a really good battery. I don't do video editing, autoCAD, or gaming (i know. i'm pretty boring). | Recommendations for where to buy a replacement battery for a Dell XPS 9360? Posted: 03 Sep 2021 12:18 PM PDT Hello, I need to replace my Dell XPS 13 9360 battery as it's in pretty bad shape. I've tried contacting Dell and they said they only have refurbished batteries which they obtain as spare parts from returned laptops. Now normally I wouldn't mind but they said they cannot guarantee how long the battery was used so I'm a bit wary, especially given the hefty price ($170 for a refurbished). It's also out of stock at parts-people. Now there's a lot of options online which is overwhelming. I'm looking for a new OEM battery and sometimes I can't tell if it's some off brand battery from China or genuine. I'm looking for any recommendations or past experiences with all of these online stores. This is for Canada btw if it matters. So far I've looked at:

I sprayed it sideways, not towards the fan directly, so I don't think all of it went through the vent. I let it dry before wiping the rest off and it seems to turn on fine but is there anything I can do to prevent any permanent damage? [link] [comments]  | ||

Fans are noisier than I've ever experienced in laptops, the screen on 100% brightness is still quite dark, and sadly the battery life is maximum 1.5 hours. Do you think my laptop is a faulty item?
