What are some features you would ike to see in an offline music player? Posted: 03 Sep 2021 02:09 AM PDT I am building an open source music player and would like to hear your opinion about it. The app is and will remain completely offline and therefore accessible for everyone. It has some basic functionality you could expect from any other music player, and thats actually the problem. I would like to hear what you would want from a music player. Any suggestions are fine, just keep in mind that the app must remain offline. You can check out the Github project or the website for more information EDIT: Thank you very much for your amazing contribution! I am literally overwhelmed by how many of you are submitting your ideas. I'm trying to answer everyone but it's a little bit hard using Reddit app, if I don't reply immediately please be patient. Anyway, just wanted to remind you two things: 1. The app is open source and hosted on GitHub, everyone, including you, can freely contribute to it if you want to. 2. The app is an offline music player and should remain as such as far as possible. Here is a list of all your suggestions so far: - Embedded lyrics support - Minimal user interface - Automatic playlist creation based on selectable criteria - Tons of customizable elements - Select multiple songs at once to create playlist faster - Fade between songs to make it more pleasant to listen to - Search function with autocomplete - Advanced equalizer and gain - Sleep mode: music turns off at given time - ID3 support - Playlist import and export (+ m3u conversion) - Like songs (similar to Spotify) - Connection to free music database for easy and legal song download - Song file management inside the app - Lossless audio playback - Connection to streaming services - Dark mode - Extensive sorting and grouping features - Backup playlists to email - Import songs from NAS or other related storage systems - Multiple file support (m4a and opus for example) - visualizer - coverflow navigation - Automatic start/stop on headphones unplug - Crossfade And suggestions just keep coming as I write this hahah, you guys are amazing. Looking at the list I just realized how much work I still have to do. Right now it's just me and a stranger working on the project on GitHub so this might take a while to implement everything. Thank you very much for your help again, it's really interesting to see how many ideas I never even though of. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Sep 2021 05:45 AM PDT Start on a journey to discover Italian wines! Look up what the local regional wines are in all of Italy by choosing the color and sweetness of the wine! In addition to that the app features a variety of different pairings to look up to see which wine will fit them best! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=apace.sommelier Sommelier is the combined effort of clean and simple UI through usage of material design and functionality and entertainment without being too bland for the user. Since our first time we're always trying to improve towards achieving a simpler and cleaner approach to development to make sure that we gave users immediate control and understanding over the app. Our main goal is to promote Italian tradition and culture through the divulgation of the wine heritage of Italy, famous all over the world. Now more than ever, our country, like everyone else because of the pandemic of the covid-19 virus, needs to be valorized. Wine is one of the flagships of Italy: it's part of our history and our identity. Hence the decision to go through all the senses make a small contribution aimed at trying to encourage the revival of tourism. Accessing the richness of Italian culture through the desire and curiosity to embark on a tasting journey to discover the flavors of the Italian tradition seemed to us a good idea to tease our users. A toast to you all! Thanks for your time and, as always, feedbacks will be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |

Name that app (bc I can't remember it) Posted: 03 Sep 2021 04:45 AM PDT Trying to find an app from 5+ years ago, or something similar. App I'm trying to find was a very simple communication app. Use: you're in a room with a bunch of people (meeting, classroom, theater, etc. It's quiet and you want to tell someone you're sitting next to or across from something. Open the app and start typing. Pinch to increase text size. Show person screen. Button to flip text upsidedown (if person is sitting across from you) I can't remember the app name and can't find anything similar. I'm guessing development stopped bc you could text the person, but then if their phone is on a table and it vibrates, or it's in their pocket. I haven't been able to find anything as simple. Most notepads don't change font size with pinch and you have to open app and tap "+" to add. I know it's only a few extra taps, but when you trying to be incognito that's a lot. Anyway, if anyone knows the name or an app similar... [link] [comments] |

How are apps able to read your storage even if you deny storage permission? Posted: 02 Sep 2021 01:37 PM PDT So when Android 11 was being released I remember how their permission changes were breaking file manager apps because their new policy made it so apps can't access folders they didn't create, even if you give them storage permission. I recently used an Android 11 phones (yes I'm behind the times) and apparently apps can at the very least read data in the main storage section, even if you deny it's request for storage rights. Proof:
So how is Mario Kart doing this? I know why they are doing, it's root detection, but it gets tripped even if you aren't rooted and you just make the folder. So it's somehow reading your storage, even if you deny it's permission request for storage. [link] [comments] |
