The new Microsoft Edge for Xbox consoles, first introduced several months ago, has a little reference to "Windows 11 OS". I wonder if it was here before the Windows 11 announcement.

Clippy instead of Cortana is a very good idea

Non-native English speakers. Do you use English for Windows?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 10:32 AM PDT

People who speak English, but it is not their first language. What is your first language and do you use it for Windows, games, apps, etc., or do you rather opt for English instead? What is the reason behind your decision?

Building the best windows screen recorder

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 08:08 PM PDT

Hey guys, I've finally released version 1.0 of TapeX: https://tapex.app.

You can download directly on the windows store: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/tapex/9p5qv61ffsj7?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

We've added many features including pause recording, video conversion and sharing videos with a link.

It's still early and we want to keep adding features and value (I wasn't happy with any of the current tools).

It's great for: - recording demos - recording meetings - recording courses - onboarding videos - explainer videos And more!

Let me know if you have any feature requests!

I'm downloading Windows 10 Home on my MacBook Pro, and I don't know which partition I can delete from the list it gave me? I have quite a few important things on my MacBook side so I don't want to lose anything there. Will this delete my Mac items?

Why is Windows (Microsoft) so bad? Did they just stopped caring for their product?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 05:12 PM PDT

Why is Windows with such a big amount of money and background still such a bad OS? I'm trying to have a open mind regarding Windows that they might have a good product. But everyday I'm still questioning their existence.

I have used Windows 95, 98, XP, 7, Vista, 10, Ubuntu+ a lot of other Linux distros, Mac OS. So I have a lot of knowledge using a lot of systems.

Windows 95, 98, XP and 7 was really good OS. I enjoyed it, it worked flawlessly for me personally. But after that something happened. A lot of bugs, bad experience. I cant still believe its considered the "first" alternative for enterprises. Wtf, their window management is so buggy its embarrassing, as well as their CMD that they needed to add a "Powershell" that is useless. Its so bad that they couldn't even keep CMD and expand their functionality.

Mac OS, is OK, but is very outdated in many dependencies and its still running Python 2, what the fuck. Linux is the only kernel + gnu that actually serves as a good alternative today. And it actually runs very well with Gnome. Before I have to admit, Linux distros were quite a pain, and buggy. But today, I actually thinks it so much competative against the other "big players" that I don't even look twice at other alternatives. I really want to give Apple and Microsoft a chance, but its a joke. Why is Windows so f*cking bad at the moment? And WHY the h*ll they do not have a good CMD that actually makes everyday people more interesting in the OS? When I got assigned a Windows OS machine I got disturbed since it would affect my overall development. Its like they dont even care about their product anymore. Anyone else feel like this?

    I need tablet advice

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 12:20 PM PDT

Hello, I am in need of a tablet for my next university year, and I was wondering if the knowledgeable people of this subreddit could give some suggestions.

One of the things I want to do with it is basically take notes in the same way as writing in paper, so I'd like it to have these tablet pen to be able to take notes. A decently-sized screen, and having the capacity of being connected to a keyboard. Also good memory space. And obviously some good specs, ram, gpu and all of that.

I want the tablet to have windows 10. I'm not sure if they're any good, but I would really love to be able to use pc programs on the tablet.

My budget is about 500€. I can be a bit flexible with it and go a bit over it if you think they extra price is really worth the money. Thanks a lot in advance!

    Win Update kb5004296

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 08:15 AM PDT

Just saw this pending. It's apparently a preview cumulative update for Augusts' patch.

This is supposed to fix Windows' broken game mode and a few other things that were apparently impacting FPS.

I'm hesitant to install it since my games run fine. Has anybody taken this update yet?

Oh come on Microsoft , release Windows 11 in Release Preview Channel soon. My PC is waiting for Windows 11 although it isn't capable of running Windows 11 according to Microsoft.

    My PC specifications -

    PC - Dell Insipron 5558

Windows Version - Windows 10 Home Version 21H1

    Processor - Intel Core i5 5th Gen ( i5-5250U)

    32 bit/64 bit - 64bit OS and processor

Secure Boot , UEFI are available and I don't know that is TPM available or not inside my PC

Do u think I'm capable of upgrading my PC? I think Yes.

Can anyone share their experience of running Windows 11 on these specs if they are running Windows 11?
