| Download speeds on pc are messed up Posted: 28 Jul 2021 09:16 AM PDT I have 200download speed internet. My PC received this (wired) for a while. It had then stopped getting that download speed, only giving me roughly 50-60download. The ethernet cord is fine, ports on the router is fine, router itself is all fine. I fixed this issue at one point, but I never wrote it down. Now it is happening again and I have no clue how to get my download back up. Every other device I hook up to ethernet gets proper speeds. My phone on 5g get all the download. I've even tried keeping my pc on the only wired device hooked up to me router but nothing I can find on yt works. Since I manged to fix it before I don't believe I have a faulty driver, and my ethernet cord is fine. Idk what to do. [link] [comments]  | ||
| 6700xt GPU 'Average clock frequency' is low Posted: 28 Jul 2021 10:18 AM PDT This Gigabyte 6700xt was not passing 3dMark stress testing, so Gigabyte agreed to RMA it. Gigabyte claimed to have fixed it, and I received the fixed GPU yesterday. Now it passes the stress test, but the GPU score is only 3271. Same system tested with 3060 works as expected. Why is the "Average clock frequency" so low? Can I fix this? Another RMA? [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 28 Jul 2021 10:13 AM PDT So I changed some settings today in Vjoy(an app I use for my racing setup) and it forced a restart, now when I load into windows it kills all of my peripherals so I can't log in or anything. | Need Some Big Brain Help from ye Tech Wizards Please Posted: 28 Jul 2021 09:41 AM PDT Ok here's the Deal guys. I recently had some weird issues happening with Chrome. I would enter a search term and I was getting redirected to some random page and/or a Bing search page. Ok fairly simple looks like I got some kind of redirect malware seems harmless enough…pretty sure I got that solved. But then things got scary…and weird. Since the problem started on my MacBook Pro I thought probably as good of a time as any to maybe do some housecleaning on the ol girl and make sure things are tidied up a bit…get rid of demo apps, audio plug ins i no longer use…certain videos that don't really do it for me like they used to…you know….the usual. So I'm browsing thorough the ol finder and I start doing a deep dive into some folders and I came across something peculiar. In the Application Support folder for Chrome there is some highly suspicious files. In my directory : Users/Myname/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/ there is a weird folder named "ZxcvbnData" and in side that folder are several very suspicious files. The files are titled english_wikipedia.txt Female_names.txt Male_names.txt Manifest.fingerprint Manifest.json Passwords.txt Surnames.txt US_TV_And_Film.txt So I'm sure you are all smart enough to figure what the male names, female names and surnames txt files are… that's pretty self explanatory. The English_wikipedia.txt file is made up THOUSANDS of random words like the, of, it's, his, hers, ours, is, for, with, by where, which, and on and on and on and on. The tv and film text file is more of the same (im guessing it's every word that's ever been part of a title for a television show or movie??) but it starts out… you, I, to, that, me, what, know and on and on and on again….several hundred random words. The file that made me break out in a cold sweat is the file named passwords.txt this is a list of THOUSANDS of words. MANY of them are words that are completely specific TO ME. Nicknames for friends that only I would know, local bands that only I would know, but also sprinkled in there are random shots in the dark like "letmein" Password1, Password2, nopassword, boobies, lesbianz, there are many phrases that come close to paraphrasing old passwords I may have used and a few instances of EXACT passwords that my kids used a long time ago before I taught them how to use passwords. But like I said it is a MASSIVE list. It's almost like key phrases I have either said out loud or typed in a text or email from hundreds of conversations we're talking thousands of words. Also there is another folder stored here named "_metadata" and in that folder is a single file named "Verified_contents.json" So a couple questions.

| Selecting a "new" graphics card for and old computer Posted: 28 Jul 2021 07:32 AM PDT Greetings everybody, We have and old computer that is going to be used for gaming by one family member, and as such we are in need of replacing the graphic card, not only because of it's specs but because it is about to fail. Can you please suggest the best replacement card ? To my understating, the PCI is backwards compatible, so almost any GPU would work, but I would like to acquire something relatively cheap and at the same time capable of giving the best performance given the specs and bottlenecks below. (The overall ideia is to make do with the current hardware, replacing only the GPU, though feel free to add any of your thoughts on the matter) I'm far less versed in AMD GPUs than in Nvdia, still I came up with some options, but I would love to hear your opinion on the matter, since I'm completely out of my league here:
One of my main problems in understanding this whole enterprise, is finding the correct ratio of memory bus width vs memory vs processing units vs memory clock speed vs GPU clock speed .. and so forth .. Considering the games, and probably the MODs and maps to come, a GPU with higher memory seems to be the best choice, but then again I have no idea on how to foresee the bottlenecks ... much less calculate the necessary amount of power for the PSU or the ventilation.
