A better platform than Google Play Store?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 11:12 AM PDT

Hi all, I was looking for a nice game to play on Play Store, but all I see is promoted hyper-casual similar-looking games. Is there a better platform to find nice games to find, like a website that suggests good games or an alternative app store of Play Store? Maybe a community dedicated only to share, vote, comments on games etc? (other than this community :D)

[Request] Looking for a game I used to play

    Posted: 02 May 2021 04:55 PM PDT

It was a 2d top down, rogue-like dungeon crawler. The graphics weren't good and the sprites were tiny. I think there were 4 main dungeons. I also remember that when you restarted your game or died you could soulbind weapons to keep them permanently. Also there's weren't really any animations. I just remember the little sprites swinging their whole bodies at enemies they were attacking. I couldn't find it anywhere in my app library.

This black and white rpg game I can't remember name of

    Posted: 02 May 2021 01:17 PM PDT

So there was this game that i played really back. It was like black and white in graphics and you started with a character, you were part of a clan, and then you'll age, and you'll be given options decision to choose from. Kind of like "reigns". And then if you'll die a summary woul be shown about you and i think you could also carry on a legacy of some sort.

Like a medieval era game, combination of "reigns" and "Steve Jacksons sorcery". I've searched a lot but just cannot find it. If anyone could please help :/.

which ps one emulator has the best touch controls?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 09:31 PM PDT

ive tried epsxe on and off for years, but the touch controls are in my opinion, garbage. for example the vibration settings dont work well.. its either full device vibration or nothing, no way to make it light and subtle, despite there being options to do that, it doesnt actually work for me. tried it on more than one device.

the touch controls themselves also are in my opinion too sensitive. no matter what i try on resident evil 2, leon always runs around in fucking circles rather than straight, despite me holding my thumb up on the up dpad button, any slight change in my thumbs fucking atomic makeup of carbon.... and leon shits himself in circles.

and i guess the only other options are fpse, of which i have not tried, and retroarch, which i havent tried, but dont know how it even works. i have no clue what a repo is, in terms of retroarch.

    are there any other options?

(REQUEST), Want a decent platform game with no or minimal fighting. Example: Cat Bird, Dadish and Dadish 2.

    Posted: 02 May 2021 08:56 PM PDT

I am looking for a platform game:

    1) With no or minimal fighting,

    3) I would like if the game have features like "Double Jump". Just tapping jump and pressing jump for long will affect the jump height. Changing direction in mid air is instant. Releasing the movement button in mid air should stop the movement immediately.

    4) Graphics doesn't really matter, but I am using a potato, so pixelated graphics will probably be better.

    5) If a game features a special mechanic, that is not found in many games, then it is fine, as long as it is subtle and not completely ruin the "platformness" of the game. For example, in Cat Bird, pressing and holding jump button causes the cat to use its wings (hence cat bird) to fall down slowly.

    6) I want a game which requires skill in crossing the platforms, dodging traps etc and not in solving puzzles.

    7) Should be able to run offline.

    8) Should be small in size. About 50MB is fine

As already mentioned, Cat Bird, Dadish and Dadish 2, meet these requirements. So I want a game like these.

Here are some games I tried before posting this, that couldn't make the cut:

    1) Nameless Cat: Changing direction in mid air is not instant, no double jump. Releasing movement button in mid air doesn't stop the movement immediately. The game feels like there is some input lag.

    2) Yeah Bunny: The player moves on its own, and it moves fast. I want to be able to control both, the movement and the jump. Because of these issues, I didnt tried the second part of the game.

    3) Oddmar: 480MB, requires internet, graphics are too good for my potato, I watched a gameplay video, and it seems it requires solving some puzzles.

I know I am being too choosy, but I want a game which is challenging because of hard levels, and not hard controls. Double jump and other mechanics allow that. I dont want solve puzzles, those games are challenging just because of the puzzles, and not because of the actual map of the level. My phone is old, its battery backup is meh. I have to keep it plugged in charge. But when plugged in charge, the touch screen behaves badly. If I touch and hold on one part of the screen, for some reason, it also register touch on otjer parts of the screen as well. Idk why this happens, but it happens only when charging (grounding issue maybe ?). And this is not suitable for platform games as your player can switch direction in mid air on its own, might not double jump or not jump at all. So I have to turn of wifi to save as much power as possible. And also, turning wifi of disables ads.

    Thanks in advance.

Hungry Shark Evo: Two identical devices, same account, but not Cloud Save?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 03:37 PM PDT

TLDR - I have 2 nVidia Shields, both with same Gmail account as 'Account' used and logged into. Installed "Hungry Shark Evolution" on both. Saved progress not syncing, but game indicates it should. No option in game settings. On one Shield, account settings (of shield, nor game) has a 'Play Games Cloud Saved' option, and it's enabled —but this is not shown or an option on other identical Shield. Game website says option should be there, but not. ——

As the title suggest, I have:

2 nVidia Shields Both now have the same "account" (a 'gmail' one) Both now have the same game installed (Hungry Shark Evolution) ...but, all the game progress done in Shield 1 does not show up on Shield 2.

Two interesting points that may or may not be relevant:

Hungry Sharks Evolution claims there is a "Cloud Save" option when you select the cog wheel, but there is absolutely no such thing. In fact, they state the cog wheel is in top-right corner when really in top-left. This makes me think it's different on Android vs Android TV (i.e. the Shield)

Under Shield 1's "Settings" -> "Accounts & Sign-In", the account lists a lot more options —which one being "Play Games Cloud Saved". It's ON, and I've clicked 'Sync now' a few times with no luck. On Shield 2, it -only- has the options as "Calendar" and "People Details". Nothing about Play Games Cloud Save. Same email gmail account for both.

As per the game website, should be there for Android, but no such 'cloud' button (I emailed support, nothing yet): https://support.ubisoft.com/en-US/Article/000066788/Technical-Troubleshooting-for-Hungry-Shark-Evolution

Any ideas? Is this game just broken? Is there any way to even manually copy the save progress over?

I saw Aerofly FS 2020 or 2021 (I don't know how different they are). Are these at least a little good games for a beginner who wants to fly?
I'm going to the hospital for a few weeks, so I want to relax a bit, but nothing too complicated, I'm a total rookie. Thanks in advance for any tip or advice!

    help me quit cod mobile

    Posted: 02 May 2021 11:11 AM PDT

i really really want to play something different. but everything i try, i just find some kind of annoyance, or find it boring, or i dont like the graphics or dont like the UI / presentation of the game and i give up.

every time i go to play something on my phone its just constant cod mobile but i am so sick of it.

it doesnt even have to be a real game, something mindless and time killing would be fine, so long as its something to sink a lot of time into. dont want any p2w, or forced p2w (cod mobile for example is p2w but its not forced, you can play free and still beat p2w players).

I hate pay to win and similar mobile games, why there is not a game list of proper Android games?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 04:20 AM PDT

On Android there are interesting and fun games, real games with intro + game + ending but the Play Store is full of garbage of pay-to-win, not finished or full of micro transactions games. Doing searches in the Play Store is tedious and horrible so searching the Internet for lists of good Android games I have not found much, I found a website that is precisely a list of decent games where you can contribute but I caught my attention the little participation of the community, is it perhaps a topic that does not interest? Wouldn't a list of all the good and real Android games be interesting?

The website that maintains a list that I mean is:
