Posted: 03 Mar 2021 07:13 PM PST Someone was not getting one text I tried to send them, and after some experimentation I found that if I text anything to anyone that contains the words "your credit score", the text never gets to them. They also can't text me those words. It doesn't go to the spam folder, they just never get it at all. I don't know if it's specific to Android, but I don't know where else to ask this question. | S10 Do Not Disturb Exceptions Not Working For Calls Since Android 11 Update Posted: 03 Mar 2021 07:26 PM PST Hello, Since the Android 11 update (security patch Jan 1, 2021) update on my Galaxy S10, my starred/favorite contact exceptions when Do Not Disturb mode is enabled no longer causing my phone to ring, nor do repeat caller cause it to ring, despite these being enabled. Yes, all notifications are turned on, those contacts are still favorites, and they function for messages/my phone vibrates for those, but not for calls. The Phone app has full permissions and the phone vibrates when I turn off DnD mode. There was an issue with this previously and the November 2020 security patch took care of it/it functioned properly. It appears as though the folks that did the recent upgrade butchered this once again, or it was stripped out of the latest patch. Needs to be fixed asap. It also doesn't work for repeat callers (2x within 15 minutes). The bug is back and this has potentially dangerous and harmful consequences to users (e.g. emergency calls not going through, on-call staff not receiving calls from their employer, etc.) Note* The DnD exceptions are working for SMS and messages received in Whatsapp from favorites, but regular calls or voice/video calls in Whatsapp from those same contacts are not coming through. Repeat callers also do not come through. These are both set as exceptions in the DnD settings + the phone ringer is set to vibrate. As soon as DnD is disabled, they function again. I forgot the password for my gmail account and now have no way of regaining access to that account. I tried to do it via E-mail, but after entering the code, google tells me that they will send me an e-mail after 48 hours. That e-mail, however, says that it could not be verified that the account is mine. They ask me to go through the exact same process again. Which I have, with no luck I tried on two different phones, a Moto G5 S Plus and a Moto G9. Does anyone have an idea why those buttons are not reacting? [link] [comments]  |

I bought an unlocked Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro offline brand new. The device says it is GSM capable. I am in the U.S. At first I tried using a Metro PCS sim card in the phone and it acted as if the SIM didn't exist. It gets no service what so ever. So next I tried my At&T SIM card. With this, I am able to make and recurve calls, but it gets no cellular data. Even stranger, when no SIM is inserted both SIM 1 and 2 have 15 digit IMEI as regular. However, after inserting my ATT SIM, the IMEI in the active SIM slot becomes only 14 numbers. I tried with AT&T tech support for an hour to get the SIM and device working, to no avail. They say the IMEI had to be registered in their system as 15 digits, and since the IMEI reads only 14, that is likely the cause of cellular data not working. I am lost. Why does the IMEI drop a digit when an active SIM is inserted?! Is this device not usable with U.S. based GSM carriers such as AT&T? This is my only phone and now I'm stuck. It has done this multiple times a day and isn't an actual "notification" but a message that pops up on the bottom ofy screen. I install the app and I can connect without problems but the moment I restart my mobile it wont connect anymore. It sees it but wont connect. I delete the app, restart mobile, install the app again it all works. If I dont restart the mobile after deleting the app but just delete and reinstall then the app will not connect. I'm in Canada, we have one-party consent (it's legal to record phone calls) and occasionally I have a need to record a phone call. I use Cube ACR. I have a phone that's running Android 8, and I might get a new phone, but it looks like Android removed the ability to record calls for phones running Android 9 or 10. Is this the case? It seems like there are some workarounds but I want to be sure before I switch to a new phone. I know I'll have to eventually, I'm just hoping this gets enabled at some point with the new phones. I wanted an Android phone the same size of an iPhone SE and ended up picking up an unlocked S7 with Verizon. My ONLY issue is battery life. Every day I feel like the phone has to be plugged in most of the time to last all day. Every online guide talks about a "Fast cable charging switch" option and I cannot find it anywhere. Like here... https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-203165/ When I go to "settings" there is no "battery" section, only "Device Maintenance." I go to Settings>Device Maintenance>Battery only has "Power Saving Mode" and "App Monitor Fix." If I do a search in the Options menu for "Fast.." nothing comes up. This is the ONLY issue I'm having. I might've messed up big time and turned me phone into a paper weight while trying to flash a different ROM ( going from MIUI 12 to 10, to go back to android 9.0) It's a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. As I said in the title it's stuck in a bootloop and I can only get out of it booting into stock recovery. The fastboot screen does not show up when I try to boot with power + volume down pressed. If I access the recovery and enter the Connect with MI Assistant option, the phone shows up in MiFlash and when using the adb devices command, however if I try to flash a stock rom through Miflash I get a Missmatching image and device error. If I try the adb bootloader command it gets stuck in a bootloop without reaching the fastboot screen. Can I do anything about this? Can I fix my phone from the stock recovery screen? I am aware that each camera has its own use, but (as the title sais) Is it possible to capture all these cameras separately and the best would be at the same time? I know that there are some apps that, as said in the app, can do these kind of things (like FilMic Pro (costs ~10$) and a iphone-only app for free if im not wrong but forgot what it was called) but is it possible, for example, show what all the cameras are seeing, on a pc screen at the same time? I'd like to restrict notifications from work, and the focus mode option seemed perfect for this! But whilst trying to remove outlook as an active application, my phone said something along the lines of 'This app is always allowed in focus mode'. Bit of a bummer. Prior I'd been on ios since the iPhone 3g. One thing that I've missed is the integration of messaging between the iPad and iphone. I currently have Google messages for web saved to my android tablet's home screen as an "app" but it is a fairly clunky experience. It takes a while to open and is generally not a smooth experience. Utilitarian comes to mind. Is there any way to make this a better experience? Are there other messaging apps that would allow me to text via SMS/mms on my phone but also sync with, and be usable, on my Samsung tablet? | How to save game progress data before uninstalling the app Posted: 03 Mar 2021 04:13 PM PST Okay, so I downloaded a modded apk for the game "Choices" (don't worry, it's an offline game i'm not cheating lol), and recently the game has been updated. I uninstalled it to download the new, updated mod apk, and when I installed it, naturally I've lost all of my progress. I have a few similar modded games and everytime I would reinstall them like that the progress would be saved, but not with this one. The thing is, I can't sign in to Facebook or Google play on this game because it's modded, it just doesn't let me do it. To wrap it up, Is there any way I could save the game progress for the next time the game gets updated? It's impossible to play it without updating and for that reason I don't think app backup apps would work. Thanks infront, any help will be appreciated.
