[DEV] Forecaster is now free and powered by Yr.no

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 05:23 AM PST

With Dark Sky shutting down, I've migrated Forecaster over to using weather data from Yr.no. This has also meant I can now offer it for free, and ad-free! So far I've found the forecasts from Yr.no actually better than Dark Sky was but YYMV, let me know.

    [GIVE AWAY] Safe Dot Premium

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 07:41 AM PST

It's been a while since I published an app called safe dot which is basically the iOS privacy indicators for android.

Now in latest android 12, it's in-built. I'm planning to add more customisations and features to make it stand out.

So, I need your help. I'll give away 50 promotional codes for the pro version of safe dot, feel free to try it out and suggest a few ideas which you might like to have.

Just drop a comment on this and you'll get the code on your inbox (I mean the first 50 commenters)

    App : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aravi.dotpro

Update : Check comments for the codes. I've posted sets of 10 codes.

Searching app with widget which can deactivate Internet a specific app

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 11:34 AM PST

    Hi all

Is there a app which can deactivate Internet Connection for specific app by a widget on the home screen? In my case I want to deactivate Microsoft Teams because I am using it on multiple machines and it always syncs the settings on all device.

Sometimes I want to be "offline" on my mobile phone but still be online on my work PC.

I know I could log out on my mobile but I want to avoid it because I'm lazy to log in with password every time.

Request. SMS app that will NOT allow me to receive multiple text messages until I reply.

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 11:26 AM PST

Does an app exist that would allow such settings?

I want the app to auto respond if the user sends more than one message before I reply.

Hoping to cut back on multiple uneeded messages.

[DEV] I've created this wine app on android.

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 10:56 AM PST

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app.myWines

Please leave suggestions on possible features. Worked on this for several months. My app allows you to track bottles in different locations in your house as well as previous and currently owned bottles. I have also integrated a scanning feature that can help you input the bottle data into the app. Here are some of the top features:

Features:•Choose one of 3 methods to enter wine into your collection - Search, Scan, or Manual entry•Ability to track bottles in multiple locations•Expansive Autofill with over 8000+ wineries, 1000+ grapes, and the top wine regions across the world.•Simple free format search to find bottles by Vintage, Grape, Region...•Track open/sealed bottles

To give you a little background, I am a novice wine collector and I enjoy collecting a wide variety of wines. I am an engineer by background and collect wines as a hobby. I have enjoyed collecting wine so much so that I built a 2000 bottle wine cellar and bought a chilled wine fridge. I created this app with the intent to help people collect wine in a simple manner and compare it with friends or family.

    Thanks!!

    Virtual pet app

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 10:51 PM PST

A year or so ago I had downloaded a virtual pet app from Google Play. Now it wasn't like the normal virtual pet apps where you need to take care of the pets inside an app. Instead it was like a floating widget which always stayed on top of your screen and there was a pixelated pet (I'd like to say it was a cat but I'm not sure >.<). And the pet roamed around the screen and would come to the part of the screen wherever you tapped and it was really adorable!!! Can anyone help me find the app? I loved the app back then and I'll really appreciate if I can find it again hehe.... Thanks in advance :)

Edit: For reference here's the pic of the pet: https://imgur.com/a/PotDbGD

For the people looking for this it's called "aneko" on Google Play.. tysm to all the people for helping mee😄

    Simple Shift - work schedule

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 05:34 AM PST

    Hi!

I'm trying to create a simple calendar app for displaying shift schedules with a good functionality, nice UI and without any complicated overloaded settings. You can create your shifts, schedules of any complexity, display up to 3 schedules at the same time, set vacations, events, calculate working hours, salary, set widgets on the home screen. This project is developing and constantly receiving new features. Here's what I've got so far. Link on the Google Play

    2 way call recording

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 10:59 AM PST

I have a Galaxy s9+ i feel like ive tried every version of the call recording apps. Some work and some don't but the ones that do work you can only hear your side of the conversation i am not above paying for a pro version i just want to know one that works with for 2 way call. I am in the US and its not illegal to record in my state all you have to do is inform the other person on the line and if they choose to continue the conversation whether they acknowledge it or not thats their consent. If i look at the hardware it says REV1.1 if that helps i know the threads i looked at people were asking. Any help you could give would be appreciated.

Which RSS reader does not retrieve previous posts from another day or already read? It's annoying refreshing feed and getting posts from one month ago!

The RSS readers I have used do this and it's annoying, I would like one that only retrieves posts from that day only. Grateful for a suggestion.

    Samsung Notes on PC?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 12:16 AM PST

Hi, I'm currently a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite user and I use a non-Samsung windows PC. I'm trying to make the switch from OneNote to Samsung Notes (because the OneNote android app is super lite and lacking features). One thing that's very important to me is the ability to view notes on my PC that I created on my tablet (this is one thing OneNote is good at).

After doing some research, there seems to be some kind of workaround (refer here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S10/Access-Samsung-Notes-on-PC/td-p/622002). This links here (https://www.xda-developers.com/get-samsung-notes-windows-10-app/) which leads to a download for the Samsung Notes app. This workaround is necessary because I'm unable to download Samsung Notes from the Microsoft Store (because my PC is not a Samsung device). Even after installing this version of Samsung Notes from the xda-developers website, the sync doesn't work properly even after signing in and syncing everything.

Is there anyone who uses Samsung Notes on their non-Samsung PC and Tablet/phone and syncs their notes? Can anyone find a workaround (such as a way to download the Samsung Notes app from the Microsoft Store or make the sync work in the app downloaded from xda-developers website)?

    EDIT:

    https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-Note/Get-Samsung-Notes-on-any-Windows10-PC/td-p/6161339

Following the instructions from the OP on the Samsung community post seems to work. Will post additional updates after more testing.

Strange S7 Edge System App Called - Camera Test-- Anyone Else have it??

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 01:43 AM PST

    Hi,

My S7 Edge has an app located in its system apps called Camera Test. I cant uninstall it and cannot disable or force stop it either. When I click on permissions it says no permissions only and has 3 dots in the top right corner. When I click the 3 dots it says all permissions and it then populates are large list of its permissions which sounds like anyone wouldnt want to have on their phone. I've attached some pics of everything. If anyone can please tell me what this is or if they have it on their phones as well would definitely help and give me some piece of mind. Hope to hear back :) thx

I'm trying to find an rss feed widget, with specific desires.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 04:27 PM PST

I want an rss feed app that lets me put in custom feed sources, that has a widget that auto refreshes, and will actually cycle through stories. Ideally, it removes them from the rotation after I read them, unlike feedly (which is the closest I've found for my desires). Any suggestions are appreciated!
