Does Having More Cores Count as "Future-Proofing?" Posted: 27 Jan 2021 07:25 PM PST I am trying to advise my friend on what cpu to buy for his new rig. He was wanting to buy the Ryzen 3900x to "Future-proof" his pc and make it more capable of running games in the future. I told him that if you are only gaming that the 3700x is a good way to save money, to which he replied "well if i have a 3900x, then it will be able to play future games better than the 3700x." Can anyone, in laymens terms, explain to me which cpu would be more capable of playing future games? In advance, I apologize for the sporadic nature of this post. I do not feel that I am in a position to be giving people advice concerning computers, but figured someone here may be able to point me in the right direction. [link] [comments] |
