Posted: 26 Feb 2019 11:56 AM PST I know nothing about computers, but I do know that the camera quality is awful. I actually had to use my iPhones forward facing cam for an assignment because the laptop cam wouldn't suffice. I recently noticed it looks like a piece is missing. Shouldn't there be a lense/cover hickydo over the camera? ASUS S410UA-AS51 Vivobook [link] [comments]
Got the Matebook 13, now i want to refund it. Posted: 26 Feb 2019 11:51 AM PST I am here to share my opinion. As soon as i booted the device up (after installing windows and updates of course) this machine made a huge noise thanks to the fan. And that is something that bothers me. After just browsing the web it got warm underneath. Now that is , in my opinion, a joke for a laptop this expensive. Also, i felt like the device was just too small and did not feel very premium. Is that the case with the Matebook X Pro or is it just the 13? [link] [comments]
If the price is the same, should I then buy.. Posted: 26 Feb 2019 11:51 AM PST Huawei MateBook x pro (2018), Huawei MateBook 13 (2019) or Asus Zenbook UX433? Different discounts makes them cost the same right now. What should i get? [link] [comments]

Comparing Laptops so I can Finally GAME! Please help. Posted: 26 Feb 2019 11:07 AM PST Hi guys, please be nice lol. So, I am trying to decided if I should buy https://www.amazon.com/HP-15-6-inch-Anti-Glare-WLED-Backlit-15-cx0056wm/dp/B07KQXHP4M or https://www.amazon.com/Acer-i5-8300H-Geforce-Backlit-Keyboard/dp/B07MMNTBFR/ref=sr_1_35?keywords=gaming+laptop&qid=1551207337&s=gateway&sr=8-35 or https://www.amazon.com/8th-Gen-i5-8300H-FireCuda-Gigabit-FX504GE-US52/dp/B07CZ8TP35. I have just heard HP makes horrible laptops. Any thoughts between the 2019 Acer Nitro and the HP Pavilion? The HP has a better graphics card, but is it better quality in general? Which laptop should I go with? I just want to be able to play games on med-high settings such as WOW. I don't know much about the asus Tuf, so maybe you guys can give me more info. Out of the three, which on is the best? Thanks guys. And if you guys can recomend a better laptop in the $600-$700 area on Amazon, lmk. Thanks!!! [link] [comments]

Which Laptop Should I Choose for Multi-Purpose Usage? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 10:19 AM PST Hi, I have been looking at laptops, trying to decide which I will drop over $1500 on. For that price, I feel I am fairly justified in being a bit picky with the specifications. I want an excellent keyboard with tactile responses for long hours; an HD display, preferably 2560 x 1440 and 120 or 144 Hz if possible; a dedicated graphics card at the quality of a GTX 1050Ti or greater; an i7 8th gen processor; a solid overall build quality that doesn't feel cheap; upgradeable RAM and SSD but being able to start at 16 GB and 512 GB, respectively, is preferred; minimal thermal throttling; and ultimately, it needs to be able to last for many years to come and feel like it was worth the hefty price tag. I will be an astrophysics and biochemical engineering major starting in the fall and want a laptop which will not struggle to run the necessary programs and operations required such as CAD or Solidworks. I enjoy light gaming, often eSports titles which admittedly don't need much more than the MX150, but am looking into expanding the scope of what I play to slightly more intensive games; however, they will not likely be the newest AAA games nor does anything really need to play anything on high settings as moderate settings will be perfect for me. Gaming on 120 or 144 Hz is a much cleaner experience but I can compromise on 60 Hz given the other configurations. I enjoy consuming media on Netflix, Twitch, and YouTube out in the sun so the display cannot be too dark or glossy. I am a student that will be spending late nights typing and carrying the machine to and from classes so it has to have a nice keyboard, overall portable, and a durable battery life while browsing or streaming. I know this sounds like the perfect laptop and that it is very likely it doesn't exist, but I'd like to get as close as possible! I have been looking at a few different models. The XPS 15 seems to be the go-to device for many individuals and I have always heard such great things about it. The weaker graphics card than other machines at this price, the 60 Hz monitor, and the issues of thermal throttling under moderate loads are reasons that I am hesitant to get the XPS. The PS63 has a beautiful design, decent battery life, and great portability; however, the GPU is the Max-Q version of the 1050, has the weaker 8th gen i7 processor, and MSI is known to have thermal throttling issues. The P65 is very nice, clean, and has an upgraded graphics card. For a sizable $400 increase, a 144Hz monitor, even more elegant design and better graphics card become available. However, I am hesitant due to the rumored short battery life of four hours while doing light loads and thermal throttling. The PS42 is the most portable of the devices at a striking 14" while still keeping a 1050Ti Max-Q housed inside. But, it has a 256 GB SSD and I have heard it is difficult to upgrade this in the PS42. Furthermore, I fear the battery will not be long lasting and the thermal throttling associated with MSI. The X1 Extreme has a simple design to carry great battery life, keyboard, and overall specs. It lacks in the graphics department and is quite expensive compared to its competition. Is there any greater insight you all could give on these devices, and any other that may fit my picky criteria? Thank you all for the help! [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:12 AM PST Hi guys. I have a little dated Asus K550JF laptop and I want to update it's bios, but it's like this laptop doesn't even exist in the Asus website. They have similar ones like K550JX but my bios updater doesn't accept it. Has anyone dealt with this kind of stuff before? [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Feb 2019 09:01 AM PST I've been shopping around for a laptop that can run Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. I stumbled upon the 2019 HP Pavilion and was wondering if these specs will run things smoothly? i3-8130U Processor 32 GB RAM 512 GB SSD On Amazon, I can customize these options, so if you think I need to change or you have other laptop recommendations, please let me know. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Feb 2019 01:58 AM PST So I am about to get a Gaming Laptop , and the 2 offerings are a MSI GS65 with a GTX 1060 and a ASUS SCAR II with a GTX 1070 . Both are the same price but I think I will be getting he MSI Laptop even tho it has a slower GPU . After seeing that laptop in person I every other laptop looks ugly to me even tho I know I will regret not getting a GTX 1070 . Is it normal to get a lower end GPU only because of the looks of a Laptop ? [link] [comments]

Get a 1060 Laptop now or wait for a price drop in rtx 2060 laptops? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:55 AM PST I just don't know what to do. I can get a 1060 6gb no max-q with an i7 8750h and 144hz panel for $1100. Should i just jump on that one or wait / pull the trigger on an rtx 2060? I'm not from the states so i should make the decision during march while i'm on my trip there. I was actually decided for the 1060 since i'm not a max out guy but some friends told me it's already an old card and i won't be able to use it in 2 years or so, so that i should go for an rtx to be on the safe side. That is obviously spending an extra $500 in the best scenario. Thanks [link] [comments]
