Posted: 03 Dec 2020 10:33 AM PST I moved from my OP6 which lasted me a good 2 years, and tbh I would have stuck with it if not for the battery deteriorating quite a bit forcing me to charge the phone 2 times a day with my usage.. I could have replaced the battery but I felt it was time to move on, and was excited to upgrade my device. It took a long time for me to decide on the device but I chose the 8t because I was really impressed by my 6 and didn't want to shift companies. The OP 8t. I was really impressed when I got the phone. It felt soo good in hand, and the one thing I realised immediately was the 120 hz screen. A thing of beauty compared to my older device. It's a pity most apps aren't optimized for 120 hz. ( Reddit and twitter with the micro stutters really get to me) but in all the screen is a thing of beauty. The haptics are also wayy better than the OP 6. I don't need to say much about the performance. Will do anything you throw at it, and with grace. It really does pack a lot under the hood. Now the cameras. The only downside while researching the OP8t seemed to be the sub par cameras according to the reviews, but honestly, the pictures are wayy better than the OP6 and I've taken some amazing pictures with this phone, so I don't see what the fuss about the cameras is. Maybe if you're a photography enthusiast, you can pick the sytem apart, but for me - a casual photographer- I have nothing to complain about. Overall, it's a stunning device, I have absolutely no reason to complain- no screen tint issues, battery back up doing quite well (around 6-7 SOT with AOD and 120 hz) and the phone pretty much does anything I ask of it. No regrets. Enjoying this phone! Thanks for reading! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2020 08:40 AM PST I just got a OnePlus Nord today. It's freaking amazing phone!! Just wondering, what does the third camera do? Depth sensor, if I cover it with my finger I don't see any difference? [link] [comments] |
OnePlus support refusing to refund my money Posted: 03 Dec 2020 05:24 AM PST Important parts:
All the while they hold on to my money and copy and paste canned phrases into the chat. I am not OP's bank, Why am I lending them money? It has been 51 days, what can I do here? EDIT: I would like to stress, UPS is not my courier (probably because they do shit like this). UPS is the courier that OP sent the label for and I handed the package off to them. End of my responsibility. OP promised a refund after resolution of the case with UPS which happened already over a week ago [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Dec 2020 03:32 AM PST Right now with my OP 7 Pro I get around 5 hours of SOT and 22hrs since last full charge. BT, cellular and wifi almost always on and brightness about 70%. Also scaling res and 90Hz. How good is your battery life? Interesting to compare the 5, 7 and 8 models. [link] [comments] |
I have a OP 8 Pro with green tint and DC dimming fixed it (for me)! Posted: 03 Dec 2020 07:16 PM PST Tl;dr latest android 11 green tint in 60hz apps, turned on Settings > Utilities > OnePlus Labs > DC Dimming, green tint gone but treated for black crush. I just got my 8 pro a couple days ago and noticed the green tint while reading at night below about 10% brightness in some apps. I did some reading and learned that it is an issue seen across many brands using the 120hz amoled screens from Samsung. In my case it only kicks in for apps forcing 60hz like youtube and firefox. I was resigned to going through a return process this weekend. In the meantime, I was playing around with different settings and stumbled upon Settings > Utilities > OnePlus Labs. In it I found an experiment titled DC Dimming. This is on the latest android 11 build btw. I resolved to try it out and tonight I went to start reading and encountered the awful green tint again. I remembered the setting, found it, and turned it on and all of a sudden the tint is gone even at 0% and in 60hz apps. On the flip side this now gives mega black crush in the same brightness range, moistly noticeable in video, but I make heavy use of dark mode and do mostly reading so if that is the trade off I think I'm cool with it. I'm going to give it a week to see if it bothers me enough to try the return. Anyway I hadn't seen this workaround after reading a lot of posts on green tint, so I figured I'd let everyone know. [SOLVED] Holding Down Volume Buttons with Headphones Plugged In Does Not Adjust Volume Posted: 03 Dec 2020 10:26 AM PST I recently discovered that I could not quickly change my wired headphone's volume by holding down the volume buttons. Instead, I was forced to repeatedly press the buttons to incrementally adjust the volume up or down, which was slow and annoying. I found out that the issue was caused by Google Assistant. Apparently, if your device (in my case, my wired headphones) is recognized by Google Assistant and you enable the "get help from Google" setting for that device, it messes with the volume controls. (Maybe with the setting on, the volume buttons are somehow used as a way to trigger or respond to Google Assistant?) To restore the original volume controls, you have to turn off Google Assistant for that device.
You should now be able to hold down the buttons to quickly change the volume. I hope this helps! [link] [comments] |
Oxygen OS 10.3.7 for 6 and 6T available on Oxygen Updater Posted: 03 Dec 2020 01:22 PM PST Edit: Actually got it through the normal OTA even though I have a converted T-Mo varient. Has anyone else received updates normally after converting? This is my first time. [link] [comments] |
Is the OnePlus 8T better than the OnePlus 8? Posted: 03 Dec 2020 10:49 AM PST I am currently thinking about buying a oneplus 8 for 530€ but it seems to me that the 8T is a bit better and I'm pretty sure it will go down that price too sometimes in the future. So is the wait worth it? [link] [comments] |

Game space screen recordings (8T) Posted: 03 Dec 2020 11:38 AM PST I've recorded many videos of my pubg mobile gameplay using the swipe down gaming tools menu and I can't edit them or even move them out of game space. Can someone please help me find a way to move them to my photos? [link] [comments] |
How to quickly multitask when using gestures without a hint? [8 Pro] Posted: 03 Dec 2020 02:28 PM PST I like to often switch between a few apps back and forth. When I have gestures with the hint at the bottom I can swipe left and right on it to do it. When I hide the hint, I can swipe, I see the other app but as soon as I let go it snaps back. Cheers! Posted: 03 Dec 2020 06:26 AM PST Hi Everyone. I am looking to switch from my samsung s20+ (Exynos) to one plus. The reason for switch is abysmal battery life and frequent heating of my phone for meanial tasks like taking calls or GPS navigation. Can you please suggest which if I should go for OnePlus 8 pro or one plus 8t or one plus 7t pro (has good discount) My only concern is that I have had mixed reviews for OnePlus camera. Will using a gcam mod work? Also how is battery life for above mentioned phones. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you. [link] [comments] |

OnePlus 8T Camera Lens replacement part? Posted: 03 Dec 2020 03:15 AM PST My old OnePlus 3 had a cracked camera lens and I was able to find a replacement easily. However, with my 8T finding a replacement isn't easy. The phone is borrowing parts from other phones so anyone know any substitutes to use? Thank you! [link] [comments] |

My Oneplus 8T dies as soon as it hits 15% Posted: 03 Dec 2020 08:39 AM PST Can anyone help? I got this phone 2 weeks ago and I've noticed this problem a few times now. As soon as my phone gets to 15%, the battery drains instantly, like a percentage a second. Within one minute and of me being sat on the couch and walking upstairs to put it in charge, my phone went from 5 to flat with the screen off. Is this common? And can I fix it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2020 05:58 AM PST I was playing with my settings and found the new option under Nav bar and gestures called 'Navigation gestures (bottom)' which seems to be the old gestures from Android 9. When were they introduced back? Using a OnePlus 7 pro on OOS 10.0.10 stable [link] [comments] |
