| Great battery life-Oneplus 8T at 120hz Posted: 02 Nov 2020 12:15 PM PST The screen on time on one plus 8t is fantastic considering the display is running at 120hz,gives me battery life for more than day with 8 hours SOT.This is so surprising for me because I came from a phone with a 5000Mah battery which gave me 4-5 hours SOT at 60hz and a worse processor which took 2 hours to charge. | Forgive me if this is a stupid question Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:31 PM PST So I've always bought my phone in-store and had it set up there, I have a pixel 4 and I want to switch to the OnePlus 8T but I have Verizon so I need to order it online, my question is can I just take the sim card from my pixel and put it into the 8T and call Verizon to enable CDMA less provisioning and that's it? | OOS 11: I'm actually happy with it Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:42 AM PST Hi folks! I just got an 8T in the USA and I've been using it for a couple of days now. Coming from my OP5 on OOS 10, I expected OOS 11 on the 8T to be a lot different. I was pleasantly surprised that a lot of stuff is still the same! Don't get me wrong, there's also a lot to complain about. From your opinion on bubbles and the new notification shade (which is really Android 11, not OOS's fault) to the general "samsung-ification" of how the software looks, it's definitely something to get used to. Also, preloading spammy apps (I don't even have a Netflix account!) and the Red Cable Club nonsense in India are things I hope OnePlus walks back. But other than that, the layout of the settings, general customization options, and clean minimal software that I loved on my OP5 are still here on the 8T. Also, I prefer Google apps to stock built-in ones, so I'm happy to see Google Dialer and Messages preloaded. Anyone else feel this way about OOS 11? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Questions about OnePlus Buds Z for an earphone noob. Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:54 AM PST I have several, potentially stupid questions. 1)Are these earbuds the one with the rubber material in your ear covering which make it kinda airtight? Because those are the ones which I prefer. I think these are called sillicone tips, not sure. 2) About the battery. So I read it has 5 hrs of music playback and 20 hrs in total with the case. So the five hours are just the earbuds without them having to be in the case and 20 hrs of playback if I keep them in the case to charge too. Also they charge themselves the moment they are in the case right? I don't have to worry about charging the earbuds by pushing a button provided the case itself is charged. 3) If they are indeed the rubber tip ones which I want, do they have different sizes in these tips? | Sent phone for repair it came back broken Posted: 02 Nov 2020 03:15 PM PST Bought my 6T in China a couple of years back (I was living there) Moved back to the UK now after a lockdown in a separate country and decided to get my screen repaired. I Sent it off and it came back with a repaired but freshly broken screen. It's my only phone which I need for work. What are my rights here I have already contacted customer services and they have just accepted my request but not said if I will be expected to pay for another repair or not? Back glass is damaged and now they are asking me to pay for back glass repair and screen repair even if the screen is faulty and not damaged. But phone was perfectly fine except the screen burn. | Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:35 PM PST I have one plus 7. When I use earphone or external mic for video recording, it does not take audio from external mic. It uses only default built-in mic of the phone. So if you want to record video standing away from your phone then your will not get the audio proper. I raised this issue many times to OP forums, also posted here before. but did not resolve the problem. Yesterday I found one video on YT, in which person explain trick how to use external mic while recording. He makes audio call from one whatsapp number to other. while call is on, phone enables the external mic. during that time he starts the camera recording and hung up the call from notification bar. now the camera is taking audio from external mic. Though this trick works but you can't do this every time to use your phone for video recording. I request OP please, work on this software bug and resolve this issue. | Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:33 AM PST I've found a few forum posts on XDA and OP Forums explaining how to use the built-in engineering tools & flashing some files (non-root, using an EFS app) to enable VoLTE on the 5T (and other OP devices) on Android 10. XDA post(see post by happiboi) OP Forums post(link is out of date; I used files from the happiboi XDA post) I was able to get to the end without errors and I now have VoLTE and VoWifi options enabled in settings, BUT when I make phone calls I don't see the VoLTE or VoWifi icons in the status bar (even though I have that icon enabled in Icon Manager). Does anyone know a good way to (a) test if VoLTE or VoWifi is working, and (b) if this is the same as HD Voice/gets HD Voice working on AT&T? EDIT: When I turn off Wifi and make a phone call, my data symbol changes from LTE to H+ during the call. I assume that means VoLTE is NOT working. Does anyone else with a 5T on AT&T have the same thing happen? [link] [comments]  | ||
