Posted: 02 Nov 2020 05:57 PM PST Hey, so today, stupidly, I installed 65k fonts on my laptop. The laptop got slower and my photoshop takes waaay too long to open (I can't even write a word since it doesn't let me use any fonts). I want to know how can I delete all those fonts massively, whenever I go to my fonts folder in windows I only got 300 fonts there. How can I locate the 64,7k other fonts and delete them? Thanks in advance!! [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Nov 2020 04:51 AM PST Hi everyone, I just made a simple software using Qt which lets you get the license preinstalled in your computer/notebook. The code is completely public and the first release can be downloaded here: https://github.com/jackal1-66/OSLicenseGetter/releases/tag/1.0 Hope it will help some of you :D [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:51 PM PST How much space will a default installation of windows 10 use? I'm considering buying a 64GB laptop and I'll need 24GB of space for what I intend to do with it. Will 64GB cut it or am I out of luck? [link] [comments]
Error uninstalling something on my C: drive Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:22 PM PST I have a 125gb SSD that is my C: drive (my system in an Asus ROG gaming laptop running windows 10). I was attempting to free up space on it by uninstalling Forza Horizon 4. This should have freed up over 90 gb of storage. However, when the program was uninstalled and after restarting my PC. My C: drive only shows that 7 Gb have been freed. I have tried searching for it in control panel and in the "add or remove apps" in settings to no avail. However, if I search the C: drive some files under the name of the game do appear but I cant uninstall them due to them "no longer existing in the location". Looking in the "storage" section in the settings it sows that It is almost full, however when it breaks it down into its categories, the totals don't add up. let me know if there is anything I can do to avoid factory resetting my pc to save this SSD with all my apps on it. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Potential Malware? Need some ideas. Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:20 PM PST I cannot sign into my Windows 10 computer. I normally use a pin but now I get the follow message, "Something happened and your PIN isn't available, click to set up your PIN again." Nothing happens when I click set up pin. In addition to this... 1.) Booting into safe mode fails 2.) I'm stuck in airplane mode / cannot connect to wifi 3.) Microsoft login option won't work Nothing suspicious happened leading up to this. I haven't had to deal with malware since Windows XP... sort of out of touch with viruses. [link] [comments]

Default boot device missing or boot failed Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:35 PM PST So I'm currently at 1% hard booting my device because my computer just went and crashed, for absolute no reason. I had just finished playing DCUO, I was now watching twitch, with Malwarebites premium turned on and suddenly, woops, Default boot device missing or boot failed and when I try to turn back on, it fails after the lenovo legion sign and restarts. I did what the videos in youtube told me to, no luck. So now I'm hard booting my computer because, get this, I'm quite positive it was Windows update what crashed my PC. It's only a few months after my garantee finished, so yeah, I'm screwed. I'm never buying a lenovo laptop ever again, and if there was a windows alternative, I sure as hell would go to it. Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:37 AM PST I was using alt+tab to switch between a game and my web browser as usual, but it didn't immediately respond so I thought I might have fat fingered it. I hit alt+tab again and then it hesitatingly popped up the little preview window, but my mouse and keyboard became unresponsive... except that hitting alt+tab again would move to the next preview and that's it. Only those two keys would do anything, and only in that combination, so I could only cycle between previews but not select one. I ended up having to restart because even ctrl+shift+esc, ctrl+alt+delete wouldn't do anything. Also tried unplugging mouse and keyboard which accomplished nothing. Once I pressed my power button, and was at the blue shutdown screen, my mouse was working again. Anyone had this happen before? I'm just curious, since that's a first for me and everything is working upon rebooting. [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:54 AM PST for some context, I installed the new SSD while the other 2 were still plugged in, PC ran fine but did not pick up the new SSD in bios or file explorer. used the SSD's cloning software (Crucial, Acronis) and got an error saying it "could not read from sector. please check disk" etc. didn't know what to do and was a bit impatient so long story short I put a Windows installation on a USB and started fresh and am working with a new PC files wise. any help? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:48 AM PST I have set my default audio output device to my earbuds, Realtek speakers, and it works fine sometimes. However, it randomly changes to nvidia high definition audio quite frequently within the past few weeks. I've been able to bare with it by restarting my computer but it has been occurring in way too often now. I've tried disabling the nvidia output but it still happens, the whole thing slows down my computer and I can't even open my sound settings or the volume slider. What can I do about this? Bluetooth earbuds lackluster bitrate on AX200 networking - any fix? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:13 AM PST Hi, I just got a new Zenbook 14 with AX200 networking, updated the drivers to the newest versions from Intel's website, but my earbuds still don't get the same bitrate as from my Pixel 3. I do have headset function disabled (I access them as a standalone stereo audio device). The sound is fine at first glance (or listen), but listening for a while there is a noticeable lack of bitrate/noise, especially in vocals. Playing the exact same Spotify song from my phone and my laptop is a huge difference. I didn't find any tutorials on how to check or even change the SBC codec bitrate in W10. Is it even possible? I hoped to use my pretty high-end earbuds with this laptop but this is a major issue. Thanks for any help [link] [comments]
Headphones and laptop's speaker would play at the same time Posted: 02 Nov 2020 04:44 PM PST I can't seem to disable my laptop's speaker so I can just solely listen to things through my earphones/headphones alone. I've tried almost every solution I've found in the internet including uninstalling audio device in the device manager and rebooting the system, the advanced settings from realtek audio manager does not appear for me, and I've installed realtek's 2.81and it worked temporarily for 2 weeks but its back to this problem again. This is really problematic since my roommates would wake up to the sounds my laptop would release despite my earphones being plugged on. I appreciate all help and responses I can get for this. Thank you in advance [link] [comments]
