| Screen tearing with Intel graphics Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:45 AM PST Hello, I'm experiencing screen tearing while scrolling and while watching movies and I want to fix this issue. Since the "/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf" didn't exist I figured out , after half an hour, that the location of this file on my pc was "/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/" This seemed me strange, and for "this" I mean the lack of an intel file since I have an integrated intel graphic and not an amd or radeon, but since I'm not very good at tech I ignored this fact. I decided that if there was no file I could create the file. Tried with right click to create a new text but it didn't work. After 1 hour I managed to learn the sudo nano command from terminal and I created the exact file that the Arch wiki provided me as a fix (fun fact, a quarter of hour passed to understand how to save the file created in sudo nano from terminal) Now system is working as usual, but I still have screen tearing and I'm frustrated as hell cause I've not been able to fix it by myself. I have some mouse issues, sometimes when I swap windows, my mouse just can't click on anything, so I need to go alt-tab and then click on some window. Or when I go on google and search something, it automatically goes backward, sometimes instantly spamming, so I can't even search anything, sometimes it lets me surf but then again goes backward, but only when the mouse is on that window. It looks like it's automatically clicking, or backward clicking or I don't know what is an issue. If somebody helps I would be really happy. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 01 Nov 2020 11:00 PM PST My dad has an Asus pc that is a couple years old and the last time he got the "it looks like windows didnt load correctly" recovery bootloop instead of trting to fix it he just bought a new pc. This is made worse because now trying to recover it he has forgotten his password, so doing a reset or accessing the command prompt is locked behind that password. The BIOS is still accessible though. I guess what we want to know is, is there anyway to bypass this and restore the system to default? What possibilities do we have? Can we do anything thru BIOS? | Why won’t my home WiFi work on my phone? Posted: 01 Nov 2020 03:09 PM PST I was away for a couple of weeks, came home, and my home wifi will not work on my phone. It's working on every other device I have, but on my phone, I can connect to the network but pages won't load etc. I've tried resetting network settings on my phone, I've tried forgetting the network and reentering the password, no joy!
